My mum moved house aged 86!! The move went wrong on a number of occasions due to people breaking the chain. She sold her house in June of last year and moved in April of this.

Throughout this time our Conveyancer was excellent. Diligent, polite and professional, she guided mum through all the pitfalls to a successful conclusion. I can't recommend her highly enough. Her name is Amber Lee.

David gray solicitors were excellent in dealing with a property purchase for myself, Kay Potts was brilliant, always happy to answer any queries and unbelievably fast with responses, great with communication of everything. Would use again in a heartbeat. Id recommend this law firm to anyone.

I haven't actually used this legal firm, but I recently sent them an email with a very simple request.

As I have recently written out my own Will - using a template - I wanted a solicitor to check that it looked binding. I explained that it was a simple Will, with my two sons as executors and beneficiaries.

It would have taken no more than five minutes to check it and approve or advise me to make out another one.

Their reply was swift, which gives them my 2 stars. However, I was informed that they charge £360 for advice and £300 to draw up a new Will.

The new Will charge is acceptable, but £360 for advice? I find that totally unacceptable. There are places where I can get much better value than that.

We recently instructed David Gray with our property purchase and had a great experience!

We were first time buyers so had never been the process before. We were apprehensive as had heard some horror stories about conveyancing and none of our friends and family would recommend us their conveyancers, due to bad experiences.

We chose David Gray based off their google reviews and were allocated Euan Osborne as our conveyancer. He was great from start to finish and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. He was quick and efficient, very responsive and knowledgeful. We made us feel comfortable and at ease and we were able to trust him to deal with our purchase properly and professionally. There were no unforeseen delays and Euan had our purchase completed within the anticipated 12 weeks. He made the process so easy for us.

We would absolutely recommend David Gray and Euan and will be instructing them again in any future property sale/purchase.

I cannot recommend David Gray highly enough, Partner, Bryony Rest in particular. Our Family Visa was refused because we applied within the UK even though GOV.UK site gives applicants the option to apply within or outside UK! We were distraght, we knew we met the criteria; the UKVI rejections are brutal with statments such as 'you can maintain an enduring, seperated relationship by the use of modern technology....' We were so fortunate for Bryony, a Partner and one of the most highly regarded Immigration lawyers in the UK, (check her profile!) to take our Family Visa case at such short notice and the week before Christmas. (I was given great advice from a lawyer friend not to go to a large Edinburgh 'everything legal' firm , but to approach a smaller, specialist immigration Practice in an area where immigration cases are prominent) Booked consultation on Friday, initial chat on Monday, UKVI submission completed by the firm same week!, DG submitted all the documents. A very reasonable fee worth every penny. I only wish I had't been so thrifty' thinking I could submit a successful application on my own. We await the UKVI decision but I am confident DG wil navigate us to happiness and we will be using them for our sons Family visa too.

Matthew Smith provided excellent service during the sale of our two properties. I would definitely recommend the company.

I recently made my will. The service was excellent, Sophie was extremely helpful and communication was regular and clear. Appointments were made in a timely manner. The advice I was given was helpful but appropriate not pushy. We will continue to go to David Gray in the future.

If you are ever involved in criminal proceedings I would stay well away from these guys. No communication skills, incompetent from start to finish and basically had to instruct them throughout, because the left hand doesn't know what the right one is doing. And to be fair, I would have been in a better position representing myself. At one point my designated solicitor just stopped communicating and I was passed on to someone else. They are also extremely rude and unempathetic.

Due to the support of Mehdi from the immigration team at David Gray solicitors in Newcastle, my husbands visa has been granted. Mehdi worked with me every step of the way and kept me fully informed. We were tight on deadlines due to personal circumstances but he supported this and went over and beyond. Mehdi is an asset to the company and I cant thank him enough for his expertise, professionalism and understanding. He kept me calm throughout a very stressful process. Thank you so much Mehdi. Outstanding service and reliability in a motoring defence case. Janice got my case thrown out of court and my legal and other evidence costs reimbursed. Fairly priced.

I recently purchased a property in Tyne and Wear. The property owner used David Gray solicitors for the sale of the property.
The purchase of the property proved to be extremely stressful due to the incompetence and nonchalant attitude of the conveyancer, Kay Potts.
On the day both parties were expecting exchange of contracts to occur, it didn’t, with no warning or discussion. It came to light, after much questioning, that critical contracts and leasehold documents for the sellers forward purchase had not even been sent out to the seller for signing, one of whom resided in the USA. The second date for exchange also passed by as the documents had still not been received, again with no explanation.
We ended up exchanging and completing on the same day, 5 days before Xmas, which left no time for any arrangements to be made.
The Estate agent and the seller complained regularly about the poor communication from David Gray and the endless progress chasing that had to be done. They were also very frustrated.
I intervened directly through necessity and frustration to try to find out what was the cause of the endless delays. I also lodged a complaint to the relevant party at the company as to the performance and competence of Kay Potts the conveyancer in charge of the case.
I would not recommend this company for conveyancing services. They made the whole experience far more stressful than it needed to be. The communication with all relevant parties was very poor. There are plenty of solicitors out there who could provide a far better service than David Grays. Look elsewhere.
