I previously wrote a negative review but the company has actually made some effort to address the problems I experienced so I have edited my comments.

I think some additional investment in better packaging might help avoid damaged goods in transit. More insulation and waterproofing etc.

The Jellied eels are very good and I think the produce is decent subject to paragraph 2 above.

How absolutely disgusting, I was so looking forward to having my crab for lunch but when I opened it I was met with an oozing mass of black sticky stuff the shell was full of water (I think) the shell was black and the claws with one large one missing. The brown meat was just a wet mass and he smell was sickening.
I bought winkles and whelks too but I’m going to put all £53 worth in the bin for safety!

Avoid this company if you're ordering perishable seafood.

We ordered **jellied eels, cockles and whelks** as part of my dad's birthday present, but every product arrived **warm to the touch**. They had been shipped in nothing more than a cardboard box filled with packing peanuts, with **no insulated packaging or ice packs** to keep the food chilled.

This was during a heatwave, and when we contacted the company they confirmed the parcel had been **unrefrigerated for around 21 hours**. Despite this, they insisted all of the seafood was still perfectly safe to eat. We were simply not prepared to take that risk.

As a result, we had to throw away the entire order, which completely ruined part of my dad's birthday gift. What was most disappointing was the response from customer service, who maintained that this method of packaging and delivery was acceptable.

For a company selling chilled seafood, we expected much better. We won't be ordering again and cannot recommend them based on our experience.

Ordered fresh dressed crab and oysters. Arrived in used old wine box taped up. No ice packing. Dressed crab was in an old sandwich bag. I could smell the content before I’d opened the box. No ‘use by’ or ‘best before’ labelling. No response despite numerous attempts to contact the seller. Reported to environmental health. This business operates from a residential address with no food hygiene certificate. Do not buy.

AVOID THIS COMPANY! Delivered roll mops with NO cold packs, they were very warm on delivery and totally OFF. This was accompanied by the WORST customer service who told me it wasnt their problem because the fish was "long life." I told them this was not true and the roll mops clearly had "KEEP REFRIGERATED" on the container. I asked for a refund and they refused, and now are ignoring me. Terrible place. If I could give zero stars I definitely would.

Paid for order, he phoned two days later
To ask if I’d had then and I replied no . Today or tomorrow at the latest he replied, more lies followed 8 days later
Still no delivery.
AVOID!!!!!!

Please, please, please, do not buy from this site. They send fresh(?) fish out in 30 degree heat without cool bags by Royal Mail overnight delivery. It is unhygienic, it is dangerous and it is borderline criminal given the product arrives inedible and can only be thrown away. Please do not throw your money away, find a decent site like Upper Scale - do not be scammed.

Ordered jellied eels for father's day after paying £30 poxy quid for 15 ells to be delivered as a nice surprise , well 3 days after father's day they arrived in a box with a bit of Paper No ice packs nothing ! warm tub as the tub was opened everyone ran the smell was bloody rotten filth they went straight down the toilet , tried ringing tried messaging them 100 times & Nothing left messages on social media sites & They Deleted All Them....THESE ARE A SCAM COMPANY DO NOT BUY !!! So I will be visiting them very soon ...Really don't know how this COMPANY Can Still Be SELLING ...😠

My £35 parcel was deliverd broken full of glass.Having emailed,tried to phone.Someone said they would call back never did.!! Really cross.There customer service is aweful..Very upset.

It gets worse so after not recieving my order and there refusal to refund or replace (which im not interested in now)
They have challenged the charge back. I genuinely do not know how they are still in business been able to literally steal and lie
Shocking

Ordered oysters, they arrived in a sandwich bag, in a box with some packing peanuts. Because they weren’t properly packaged or had nothing to keep them cool the box was damaged as the oysters had leaked. We obviously couldn’t eat them as they were room temperature when they arrived. Contacted Deli Fayre asking for a refund but no response.

At first I got wrong order but Mr. John called me back after complaint and sorted things out. In the end. I got free product! Great service

Ordered 2 x 1 kilo bags of frozen raw king prawns - was told they would be delivered in the morning - they didn't arrive until mid afternoon and when we opened the box they were starting to defrost, only packed with some polystyrene chips around them, immediately put them in the freezer but next day we're frozen in a solid mass suggesting that they had indeed started to defrost, had it throw them out! Wasted £50 - not what you expect from a reputable company, very disappointed

Fresh prawns and a side of smoked salmon delivered without ice packs or chilled insulated packaging. The prawns smelled unpleasant, the salmon unusable. The order had been out for delivery, unchilled and in a heatwave for over 24 hours and was warm to touch.
I have contacted them repeatedly, on the phone and via their website, and been told that someone will get back to me or they just put the phone down. AVOID this company.

Ordered shell fish, frozen, on-line. Deli Fayre said it was dispatched at 8.00am on 28 May. Royal Mail say they collected it at 11.00am. Post service paid for was 48hours over a bank holiday week-end. Shipped without insulation or chilling. It arrived on Monday 1st June @11:30am. The stench from the parcel was unbearable. Straight into the rubbish bin. Customer communication are nearly none existent. This company is a scam. Beware. Nobody with a good reputation dispatches fish in 28-33C degrees heat without a chilled distribution chain.

Ignored voicemail and email, how can you do business with that attitude?

Deli Fayre allegedly sells fresh fish, their advert states that they are trading from a unit in Bristol, which isn’t true, as that address was used by a former business of the same name, this was dissolved on 04th June 2013.
Their current address is. Unit 2, Victoria House, 1 Victoria Road, Harpenden. AL5 4EA. Obviously they don’t want callers asking for a refund for orders they have never received. This is totally illegal. Report to Trading Standards. Good Luck.

Deli-Fayre I've been trying to contact you regarding order no 13567, placed back in April. The goods arrived out of date, I've sent you 3 emails, and left 1 voice mail message - Please contact me to discuss. You have my details.

Disgusting, sent crab claws on a one week delivery service in a plastic bag that was not even air tight. Safe to say they turned up less than fresh to the point a small taste gave me diarrhea. Avoid at all cost
