This company falls flat in the area of communication. They are only as good as their driver, and this one had very poor english speaking ability. He had arranged to meet us with the car in a city on his way down that would require us to drive 4 hours to get there (hint: they were unwilling to deliver it to our city). At some point, after my husband left, the driver figured out he woudn't be able to deliver the car that day, so he merely texted my husband, who wsn't going to look at his phone while on the road, and thus, he drove all the way there only to finally see tat text and realize it was a waster trip. The guy should have called, then he could have pulled over after seeing who was calling, but I think he was avoiding having to talk. These kinds of snafus happened all througout the two weeks it took to finally make this happen; I felt like it would be a miracle if we actually got our car! To be fair, the original broker was okay, but he chose what he chose for the trucking company, and we paid dearly for his choice. I do not recommend diesel auto express (until they improve customer communications)

One star because zero stars isn’t an option..

Despite my calls to locate my car in the 2.5 weeks between when it was picked up & when I finally heard from the driver, communication was non existent & no messages were returned. I’d give Customer service negative stars if icould

My car left my SOLD house on May 19th at 7:30 pm - and only because I called consistently for 2 days because my house was SOLD, packed & gone. The new owners were nice enough to allow me to stay until my car was picked up.

Sunday, May 31st I finally heard from the driver in the late afternoon letting me know my car would be delivered between 8:30 and 10 pm, and we’d have to meet him at a location 30 minutes away. Oh, and the car wouldn’t stay running once started & that they had to keep a “battery pack” on it to start. Ok - I replaced the battery less than a year ago, the engine had been rebuilt in the last 3 years, I’d checked all the fluids & put 1/2 tank of gas into it prior to moving. There’s no reason I can think of that it wouldn’t start and/or remain running. No explanation, just that’s what’s going on so be aware & possibly be prepared to buy a new battery to get home. At 10 pm on a Sunday?!

When I finally got my car, there was no gas. I don’t know if they went joy riding or what because it shouldn’t take a 1/2 tank of gas to pull a car off the transport & put it back on. So on top of everything else, I had to get gas, which meant the car wouldn’t start, so I had to charge the battery enough to start it & hope I would make it back the 30 minutes it would take me to get home. At now 11 pm on a Sunday.

I was originally told the transport would take only 3–6 days. Instead, it took 11 days with constant delays, excuses, and zero professionalism.

I asked multiple times for basic updates and even requested a simple picture of the vehicle’s mileage/odometer, and they still failed to send it. The driver barely answered the phone, and customer service was completely useless the entire time.

Nobody seemed organized or capable of handling a serious business professionally. Every time I contacted them, I received different information and empty promises.

I would NEVER recommend these companies to anyone, no matter how cheap their prices are. Saving a little money is not worth the stress, wasted time, poor communication, and unprofessional treatment.

Stay away from these companies

Beware! They picked up my friends car in Tennessee and delivered to WA state. The car arrived with $2500 in damages to the bumper. The driver accepted responsibility, their claims received the pictures, claim form, drivers signature accepting responsibility and it's been a month with zero response or payment! Their insurance has a $5000 deductible, DAE is responsible and refuses to pay my friend for damages. Beware!

Zero stars! Diesel Auto Express transported my car from NY to CA in December, 2025 and they broke the wheel along the way. It was not noticeable when I checked it over at delivery and signed the bill of lading, but once I drove it, the wheel rubbed and then we noticed that it was broken from the inside. The driver told me to write to their claims department on Monday, which I did (it was a late Saturday afternoon and I was beyond stressed about my broken car and trying to find a shop that would let me tow my car there). It never dawned on my to revise the bill of lading to note the damage, but if they were decent people, the driver would have instructed me to do so. He did not, and then he lied about the condition of the car and said that it had "pre-existing suspension" issues, which was not true (he drove it himself from my home to the loading point and it was perfectly fine). Therefore, the claims department denied my claim to pay for the damages and I have not been able to reach anyone since then. I have left another review to which they have responded with a willingness to "work toward a resolution", but when I followed their instructions to do this, they never responded. These people, including the driver (GT), are not reputable or honest and I do not recommend doing business with them. Drive your own car! You will be better off. They don't want to take responsibility for property in their possession.

Trustworthy and honest with the price. They did not change the price after we agreed and the vehicle was brought safe. Only issue was what we thought would happen the soft top was torn up due to wind. Only wish there was a better way to track our load.

Diesel Auto Express said my vehicle would be delivered on March 28, 2026. It was delivered 2 weeks late on April 11, 2026. Throughout the delay no one at the company was available to answer the phone. Terrible communication. They offered me $100 for a 2 week delay. Upon closer inspection after arrival I saw my car was covered with small pebbles due to Diesel Auto Express taking 4 weeks to drive across country. A terrible experience.

Worked with Tony, transported the vehicle from VA to WA and the process went super smooth, the couple of bad reviews on here don't do it justice!

If I could leave NO stars I would. I am a 23 yr retired veteran on a fixed income that put my trust in Diesel Auto Express to move my truck. NEVER TRUST OR USE THIS COMPANY. I had my new truck transported from TX to WA and when I received my truck it had damage to the entire front of my truck. It took me weeks to get a hold of the company to file a claim for damages. Then there insurance company AIG rejected my claim.
The estimates were $10,000 worth of damage. The contract that the transport company and insurance company used basically lets them pick any reason to damage your vehicle and not pay for it. My next step is to get a lawyer. No Company should be allowed to do business and not be held responsible for damages.

The driver refused to drive close to my driveway as my car tabs were expired. The driver parked the car in a gas station lot. Gave the keys to the attendant and left my car.

One of the worst companies I’ve dealt with. They were already a day late picking up the car, and then the driver called and told me I had to bring it 20 minutes away from the original pickup location because they couldn’t pick it up where it was scheduled. If they can’t pick it up there, why offer that option and charge for it?

When I explained that I didn’t have time to move the car, the driver was dismissive and acted like it was my problem. She even said, “I guess we’ll just have to reschedule the pickup,” after I had already been waiting a week. Completely unacceptable.

This is the second time I’ve used them, and I’ve had the same issue both times. The customer service is terrible, and the whole experience has been frustrating and unreliable. I won’t be using them again for my businesses, and I can’t recommend them to anyone.

Horrible company hired to move my Tesla from Washington to California which is only an 18 hour route and a month later I still don’t have my car. They are aggravating they keep lying. They keep giving me different times as far as I know they took my car completely and stole it. I am considering filing a police report. Do not use them.

I had my car shipped with Diesel Auto Express this December via AmeriFreight. I was moving cross country and I needed my roof rack and bike rack to be shipped along with my car. The agent from AmeriFreight took photos of my vehicle (with the roof rack and bike rack on) and specifically looked for a driver who would ship my car with the items attached. My car was picked up with both items securely on and the driver (who was very nice) did not say anything about the roof rack needing to be removed. HOWEVER when my car was delivered my roof rack was inside my car (it barely fit.) My $800 Yakima roof rack was cracked and completely taken apart then shoved into my car. I reached out to Diesel Auto Express's insurance company but their deductible has a minimum of $5000 so they told me I would have to file an in-house claim. Of course, Diesel Auto refused to replace my roof rack. All I asked was that they re-imbursement me for a new roof rack. I didn't ask for any compensation for the scratches and damage to the leather seats (which must have occurred when the driver shoved the rack into the car.) They stated that the driver has the discretion to take the rack off--which I can understand however the driver completely broke the roof rack. Why not just be a stand-up company and reimburse me for the item your employee broke?

Ted made sure everything went according to plan, even with my customer's challenging schedule. He communicated clearly with both me and with the customer to ensure smooth pickup and delivery. His dedication to customer satisfaction really showed. I appreciated his consistent updates and attention to detail. I’d absolutely work with Shaun again.

This company is a scam. I have never done business with them and they have been calling every day to collect money from me. I do not have any idea who they are but they are hounding me for payment. Today they called me at 6:56 am and woke me up from a dead sleep. I asked them why they are calling me so early and told them not to call me again, then almost immediately someone named Lora send me two text messages right after that demanding payment. I have forwarded this information to my attorney for this clear violation of the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

Despite delivering my truck four days late, I really do not appreciate that it’s impossible to contact you via phone. I had a 0% success rate in reaching out to anyone at your company via phone.

The largest issue I had with your shipping service is that from California to New York there was a 1960s Volkswagen beetle dripping oil all over the roof of my truck. It took a lot of cleaning to remove - and I still have not been able to remove all of the oil from my paint, windshield, windshield wells, windshield wipers, etc. There are permanent stains on my plastic antenna. It’s just bad form.

Super fast door-to-door service. My car arrived safe. 5/5 would use again TY!
