You have a great story to tell, and we have very much enjoyed assisting you with editing your various pieces--this time your query letter--as you seek publication of your manuscript. Yes, we always encourage our clients to review our edits carefully to ensure we have gotten them right and that the final version is how they want it. The most successful successful documents are ones that have gone through not just one round of editing but multiple rounds of review to make sure everything is just right before taking it to the next step of distribution, submission or publication. We have been doing this since 2008 and are proud of the results we have been able to help our clients achieve since then. It is this experience--as well as times where we have fallen short of the mark (we are human, after all!)--that help us continually to improve our editing and the services we provide to our clients. Such was the case with your query letter. To help us in this endeavor, we state all of our pricing clearly on the Pricing page of our website, provide clear descriptions of all services on the respective page for each service, and encourage all our clients to get as much information as they can regarding service and pricing before making a purchase decision.

With our feedback services, when reviewing documents, we often find where new or different content is needed and advise our clients accordingly with the specific details regarding what is needed. This is particularly necessary in services that offer multiple rounds, where we rely on our clients' input to complete the service. Regrettably, we did not receive the input we needed to complete the service, but the bigger regret we have is that we were not able to complete our endeavor of helping you achieve your goals.

Annually, our busiest time is late summer, and particularly August 15th to September 15th, due to the popularity of our services for personal statements, letters of recommendation, MSPEs and the ERAS application for medical residency. During this time of year, we balance this with the rest of our services to ensure we provide the personal attention we have become known for to deliver the best results to each client. We do this, in part, by inquiring of our clients with larger projects what flexibility they may have in needing the work back from us.

On August 26, 2019, we received your request to edit your 33,696-word dissertation according to the APA style with a due date of September 5, 2019. On reaching out to you to inquire whether you had any flexibility regarding when we could have the work back to you, you responded that you did not. We delivered our completed work to you on time, by the originally promised due date.

After receiving our work from us, you contacted our editor in chief with concerns that we had either introduced or not edited correctly APA style errors in your dissertation. Given that many aspects of APA are open to interpretation, and that often APA does not provide a fixed rule for how to address a particular item, he asked if you could point out the specific areas of your concern so that we could explain our thinking behind why we corrected it the way we did or elected not to make any change. We have been editing dissertations in the APA style since 2008 and would be happy to answer all your questions with our insight from this experience. We have not yet received any reply from you but will be happy to respond as soon as we do.

Regarding our comments, we always encourage our clients to follow up with us with any questions or concerns they have about our feedback. This can help clear up any misunderstanding or provide further insight into why we provided the feedback that we did. We find this often helps clients make better informed decisions about how best to implement our recommendations for their documents. It also helps us better understand our clients' needs and tailor our feedback accordingly.

On the subject of legal disclaimers, we do not presume to be experts in the law and always encourage our clients to seek legal counsel regarding the potential legal consequences of changes we make to a document. That said, top law firms not only in Houston but also around the country seek our editing assistance often, and we used the same approach for editing your legal disclaimer that we use for them.

On the topic of the technology and science involved, the subject of your document was water filtration. While we are not experts in water filtration per se, we have edited many documents on the topic, including business plans for competing products. From this experience, we have a solid understanding of the basics of the technologies and science involved. For example, in your document, there was reference to oxygen being added to drinking water to increase its oxygen content. The document described the oxygen in the drinking water as being in liquid form. In our feedback, we advised that this could not be correct. Thank you, Lauren Blackburn, for your feedback, but we're having a hard time making sense of how we can make our upload, payment and download process any simpler than it is. You upload your file for editing to our form, which automatically verifies your word count and displays your fee. Next, you enter your payment details and click submit. When your document is ready, you get an email with a link that downloads your document directly to your computer. Can you let us know which of these steps you would have us eliminate?

As for your interaction with the phone representative, we apologize that that was a negative experience for you. We have passed your feedback on to her manager to review the call with her to help her identify ways she can improve.

Thank you, Mahran, for sharing your experiences. While our editor in chief, David Lombardino, does have the final say in which of us is assigned to a specific editor, and therefore who is responsible for making the final corrections and recommendations on his or her assigned document, we work on each document as a team, such that the corrections and recommendations we make are the result of a collective effort. Our focus in this effort is to achieve a final vision for the document, and in each review of each document we give every suggestion to achieve that vision.
