I used DLA for both my ERAS application and my personal statement. They make you dig deep and really find out why you want to be a physician and help write the best personal statement. I think it helped me a lot not just for grammar check but to use my experiences to my advantage for writing a positive and effective personal statement.

Mr. Lombardino (the editor-in-chief) knows what my personal statements (PS) lacked and where I could/should emphasize in and improve for my PS after the consultations. He spent a lot of time for my consultations and recorded the details thoroughly. He revised key points, which needed to be stressed or revised in my PS every soon. He did an excellent job and I would definitely recommend DLA Editors & Proofers to customers who need some advice regarding applying for their important things. I strongly suggested submitting all your documents to them for editing and correction, even the documents you think it is unnecessary to do so because you will find it is really worthy of it.

I was struggling to finish my personal statement for my fellowship application and decided to get help with DLA Editors & Proofers. At first, I was impressed by how professional their website looks and the good reviews on this platform.
Unfortunately, I wasn't happy with the service provided for the following reason: I tried to have a phone conversation with the editor to clarify the content of some of the paragraphs because after several tries I couldn't express in written words what the editor was asking. The editor said it was busy to call me and actually never called. The editor insisted that I can send my questions by email. I believe that part of their job is to help you to express in written words what you can't. It would have been helpful to have a brief phone conversation to clarify and bring better final results.

DLA editors were above and beyond.
I am preparing for the residency application cycle. This is my second application attempt. And I can see clearly the huge difference in my personal statements, my ERAS application, and my CV.

The document was full uncorrected typos. Also, the editor kept suggesting to change verb tense, then again suggesting writing in active voice.
Honestly, if I know all this why would be using and editor?

Here are some of the comments in the document:
"Earlier you discussed your work in present tense. It all needs to match throughout the document. I recommend going back to the earlier discussion and changing those verbs to past tense. "
"If you change the other verb tenses back to present, change this also. "
"Do your best to write in active voice. Sometimes we cannot avoid passive voice, or it’s needed, but active is usually stronger. "

I agreed with most of the decisions and choices they made in my edit. I was embarrassed that they found some rather simple mistakes I had made but ultimately grateful that they did. Very professional.

I was looking for editors with positive reviews and run into DLA editors and proofers for my Application for graduate school. Previously I worked with another group of editors and ended up being disappointed. I realized that I’m in good hands after one of the editors, Terry, contacted me immediately after I posted my question in a chat. She reassured me in a way that I submitted my project immediately.

First, I worked with Terry on an essay. Next day after the submission I received beautiful text 90% ready to use. We added some more details and after the final polish it looked amazing! She did a great job elaborating on a pretty dry essay that I provided, editing the letter by making it personal.

For a long time I was procrastinating on writing my personal statement, but after working with Terry she made me believe that we can come up with something great together. She is extremely polite and cautious. Initially I wrote 2 pages of raw text, and she reduced it to 1 page of logical speech. In only 4 rounds of feedback and response we came up with a great statement which I was proud to read to anyone.

Later I worked with David who also works quick and the quality is great. He pushed me hard to come up with more and more details and explained me what people will look for in my document. Again, work was done on time and quality was great.

Prices are fair and service is great!
Will definitely work with them again.

Please do not use this editing service. This has been the worst experience I have had with any company in my life. If you make any negative comment about them online, they will harass you through phone calls until you change your review. They spend more time reading reviews online than they do editing your paper. Most of the reviews on here that are 4-5 stars have been edited by this company. He only cares about making money. He went insofar as to post my whole personal statement online! So unprofessional!

The recommendations they give you are vague and generalized. You could get more information about editing your paper online with a simple Google search. If you want a good editing service that will maintain confidentiality and will provide a proper editing service, look somewhere else please. This place is a scam.

EDIT: DLA contacted Trustpilot to have my review changed. They try so hard to make their reviews appear better than they are!

I had an 86,000 word manuscript edited by David Lombardino, and I am so pleased! I felt as if he understood my urban fantasy like no one else has so far, and connected to my story enough to ask me the hard (and much needed) questions. I've sent this story to other editors, and it turned out that it was way above their heads. Dave is sharp, intelligent, and curious, and he misses NOTHING! I've never before felt this optimistic about the possibility of being published some day!
