David Lombardino | DLA Editors — Editorial & Consulting Reviews

The review was thorough and completed in a timely manner.

We have been thrilled with Terry and David's responsiveness, attentiveness, interest and dedication. The edits have helped us to accurately convey our culture and genuine caring for our clients. The edits were incredibly insightful and beyond our expectations. We hope to continue this collaboration for numerous projects. (The ONLY downside is the inability to work in Google Docs, hoping that will be available soon!)

It’s an excellent service. They edited my PS and CV for residency application. David was great, knowledgeable and accommodating. No doubt that he knows the nitty gritty of the process and requirements of application. His guidance and input turned my documents around. I highly recommend this company for all applicants.

Extremely pleased with the job DLA did for us.

This is our first experience in working with an editor. Terry was able to get the job done quick and all of her edits and comments were appropriate and easy to understand. She really put a great finishing touch on our white paper. We will definitely use this service again in the future.

Had both a query letter edit and a synopsis edit done. Same DLA editor, David Lombardino, who did a very good job on both, Thanks David.

Used them recently on a query manager query. Fingers crossed.

Plenty of criticism, with an occasional snarky tone, left me with the impression that there was a lot wrong with my query letter without much of what to do about it. There was some good advice, and and the response was timely and thorough, but I can't say I was all that impressed with the quality of the editor's own writing.

These guys do a very credible job and have for us for several years now. They give you an estimated time and deliver on time.

I watched David’s videos on tips after he reviewed my first draft . Upon his suggestions I got new perspective and rewrote my personal statement and feels it is on another level , more authentic and moving than before .

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MOST IMPORTANTLY MONEY! Hire a professional developer who will respect you, your work, and your time. Shame on your company for trying to rub people during the pandemic (though according to some comments you've been doing it for quite some time). I ordered the top service for synopsis once before, and the feedback was fine (because there was no way for this company to upsell me- I paid the top dollar already). But the second time, I got a cheaper version for a query letter with speedy delivery. I paid around $70 for a few comments on how I should remove 'BUT' or some other useless edits with commas that any amateur editors would have done for $10. But that's not what got me mad the most. There were soooo many comments with just a question mark in them to BAIT me to pay MORE to get the top service. So you can imagine not only I was upset about getting zero CLARITY and FLOW edits. Because apparently there're no comments in that service. THAN WHAT DOES IT MEAN YOU'LL HELP ME EDIT MY CLARITY AND FLOW??? BY TELLING ME DON'T USE 'HAD' AND USE 'HAVE'???!! OR REMOVING A COMMA??!! When you say you will provide edits for clarity and flow you then need to add there will be no comments, just paragraph spacing rearranging or whatever else mini edits you come up with. So I still have no idea what was going on with my clarity and flow. But of course, if I'd pay some money on top- there will be comments and whatever else my heart desires. I contacted the customer service and nicely explained that I got zero of what I actually needed from this service (which again my main concern about clarity and flow of the synopsis), and asked for a partial refund because I understand they spent their time on my project (even if it was 5 minutes of their time). They, of course, refused. And apologized for the confusion- yes the person I spoke to agreed that the description of their services was confusing, but also I could have assumed there will be no comments. (Right?! Silly me. How difficult it is to guess the details of the services provided if it's not clearly stated??) I really never in my life left a negative review or was mad enough to do so for any business, but I also rarely come across such a company that's not willing to work things out with their customers at all. They will only put their 100% if you pay the top dollar and then probably will try to squeeze another cent on top of it.

Happy to work with DLA editors! They helped me proof read my CV and personal statement. I have my first residency interview in just 2 weeks after submitting my ERAS application.

Amazing service! I had my personal statement reviewed and edited by Ms. Terry Cummings and I loved it. After the second turnaround my PS was ready to be submitted. Terry polished my story in a way I would not be able to do on my own. They are very experienced and professional. I highly recommend DLA editors!

Excellent and thorough review and editing of my ERAS application. They provided attentive editing for grammar and structure and constructive feedback on the content of my application. The downside was that they refused to send me the finished 2nd edit on the morning of the last day unless I paid another $99 and submitted the work very close to the deadline. I felt exploited, as the work was already finished (so no extra burden that justified an additional charge). Having that extra time to edit and submit my application before the ERAS deadline would have been ideal. This is even less justifiable since the first round was delivered over one hour late. Good experience otherwise.

I purchased the ERAS Application Editing & Feedback (2 Rounds) plus a 20% Peak Season Surcharge and was very disappointed that the 2nd round editing was not delivered on time, not even on the same day of the deadline. The most disappointing was the customer service! Their response to phone calls is a tertiary service that can only tell you what you can already find online. They also promise they will have someone calling you later, what never actually happened. Finally, as the deadline was very important to me and caused a huge stress on my day, I asked for a refund. The editor chief, who only responded to my third email, told me he didn't understand my request of a refund regarding a free service (2nd round editing), which was included in what I had purchased, not free at all. Finally, editing itself had some typos ad style corrections, but nothing really special.

At first I was not satisfied with the package I had purchased. After voicing my complaints over the internet chat box on the webpage, David Lombardino called me himself. He walked me through all the issues I was having and continued to work with me and eventually provided me with 2 outstanding personal statements. One of the better investments I made for residency applications

Alwasy very thourough and fast with their turnaround.

Always professional and the proofing is amazing! 100% happy and will be using the service again soon!

We always receive our proofread copy on time, and the website is easy to use!

Excellent quality, thorough work, they turn your ideas into strong documents. I am delighted and satisfied with their performance. Thank you!!!

I have been working with DLA for a year now. Very professional and great at their job. Also, my writing becomes way better with the amazing feedback I receive. Thank you, Terry.
