I called to book my car in for a droplink to be changed. I had been told it was a droplink and the mechanic that told me was 90% certain that was the problem, this was due to it being an issue with the Skoda Enyaq. I asked the person at their call centre if their mechanic would verify it first. His reply was yes of course we will book it in for a diagnosis at £215 +VAT as it was an electric vehicle. I told him that the electrical motor etc were not in question it was a mechanical issue. He said that what we charge. DM Keith has gone from a fair priced family firm to a bunch of high priced charlatans. I have since had it replaced at my local garage for the total sum of £72 including VAT.Shame on you Dougal and Angus.

D M Keith recently took over Mercedes Europa, Sheffield, Granville Road, Sheffield. S9 2FZ.
I have a Service Plan with Mercedes.
On the 3rd of August 2026 my Mercedes was serviced at the garage (B Service). This service should have been updated on the Digital Service Plan system within 48hours of the service. As of today 18th August it still has not been updated in spite of several assurances by various members of the Service Department. I have register a formal complaint with MERCEDES.
The company is un professional. Their staff lie and cannot be trusted. I doubt they actually carried out the service. I will not give them my business again

Having paid a fee to reserve a 26-plate demonstrator at the Ashton-under-Lyme branch, I travelled up 190 miles from the Norfolk coast to see the car with the full intention of buying it. Despite DM Keith saying it had been fully prepared, the car was marked in a number of places and had the obvious gluey residue from previously affixed stickers. Despite several goes in the workshop to polish this off, the outline and silhouette of the stickers could still be seen in the paintwork (the head of the workshop ultimately concluding that the car needed a partial respray). I therefore requested a refund and frustratingly travelled all the way back home in my old car. I then lodged a complaint and received an acknowledgement saying I could expect a response within 48 hours. Despite chasing this, I have still not heard back two and a half weeks later. All I can say is that standards appear to have dropped considerably since I previously dealt with Colin Appleyard Ltd. As someone who is now on his 9th Subaru, this is one dealership I will sadly now be avoiding! This said, a special mention does got out to the salesman Chris Robinson who went above and beyond on the lead-up to my visit. It's just a shame that his efforts were not rewarded with a sale.

In May brought my car in for accident repair. They replaced the driver door which is a different height to the rest of the car and said it needed a replacement switch as a warning light came on. DM Keith Technician told me it was unlikely the impact caused the light to come on and would be £6000 to repair. They replaced the door and no more warning lights so really wasn’t a switch after all but an impact warning. Given them another chance as a warning light has come on and wanted £500 to tell me the issue. This was 9 days ago and still waiting we will keep you updated they said not it’s actually myself which keeps phoning that’s when they answer poor show . They over charge to keep you waiting never again.

I bought a new bud vehicle. I was told my preferred colour choice was difficult to obtain(polite version) so chose another colour. The sales person kept reminding me to complete the byd feedback and to give him a score of 9 or 10. He and his colleague called me a further 3 times virtually telling me to complete the survey and give them a top mark. I wasn't impressed with the sales person, I certainly don't like being told what score to give on a survey, and some 3 months after buying my car, there has been no follow up to see how I am getting on with my new car. Very poor experience.

A very mixed experience . Buying a car appeared to be nothing other than hard work after visiting both Leeds & Bradfird sites looking to buy a PUMA . Escalated with your brand director . It was then rescued by Joe the sales manager at Bradford who was excellent . A month down the line after collecting the car ( which is great ) no follow up . I find it all a bit bewildering and disappointing . Make it easy for people to spend their hard earned money and treat them like you value their business during & after . Not sure it gets much easier than that .

Unfortunately, there is no option to give zero stars. My experience with the service department was extremely disappointing, as they failed to provide anything resemble proper customer service. I took my Spyder in for a routine service, and the engine oil was only filled to the minimum level.
A lots happened which is not professional to mention here but it was very disappointed, there seemed to be one excuse after another rather than anyone taking responsibility. The standard of service was more poorer of a back Street mechanic from the 1970s than what I would expect from them.

Purchased a Skoda Kodiaq last week and from the enquiry to hand over day was excellent, very communicative, advised of optional extras, not pushy just very open and honest. Fab experience with knowledgeable staff.

Do not trust the reviews and buy a used car from this dealership. The car arrived with multiple faults including a chipped windscreen, broken air conditioning, brake fault, suspension noise, and one key not working.
They are never off the phone trying to make a sale when you make an enquiry, however once they have your money they will not answer and couldn't care less. There is evidently no quality control or proper checking of used cars so it is luck of the draw.
Very poor service in our experience and I am in the process of trying to return the car given the number of faults. This is proving very difficult. AVOID AT ALL COSTS !

i would not reccomend this dealership,
they sold me a car that was listen with parking sensors and cruise control. when i collected the car there was non of this was on the vehicle.
they messed me around for a week after we had paid for the car claiming it needed some work and an mot.
when i went to collect the car, on my way the car overtook me on the motorway in excess of 100mph,
i was also told the car was valeted, this was not the case the car was filthy with sticky marks all over the rear window and dirt around the seats. i knew it had not been valeted as we followed it to the dealer.
i found the staff to be dismissive and if i am kind rather sparing with the truth about the state of the vehicle.
we raised these issues at the time with the manager Simon and with the salesman who was handing over the car to us, who coincidently knew nothing about nothing. we were expecting a call at some point to discuss these issue's but have had zero contact with the dealer since we purchased that vehicle.
this purchase was for my 40th birthday present and they could not have made the experience worse if they had tried.

If you can avoid this company, I would strongly recommend doing so.
Five weeks ago, I purchased a brand new BYD Seal U Comfort from the Leeds dealership. Unfortunately, the vehicle arrived with multiple faults from day one.
The dashboard makes a constant squeaking noise while driving, to the point where it sounds as though parts of the interior are coming loose. I was asked to bring the vehicle back into the service department immediately after taking delivery. I did exactly that, only to be handed the car back with the same unresolved issues.
In addition to the dashboard noise, the car regularly fails to recognise its key, the front parking sensors are unreliable and often fail to detect obstacles or provide warnings.
When I collected the vehicle from the service department, I spoke directly with the branch manager and expressed my intention to give back the car due to the ongoing issues. He assured me that he would personally contact BYD UK headquarters on the Friday and resolve the matter. That conversation took place over three weeks ago.
Since then, I have called the dealership on numerous occasions. Every time there has been a different excuse: the manager is in a meeting, with a customer, unavailable or on holiday. Despite repeated attempts, nobody has contacted me or taken ownership of the situation.
At this stage, it feels as though responsibility is simply being avoided, leaving me with a faulty brand new vehicle and no meaningful customer support.
I raised all of these issues with the service team. Despite repeated assurances that everything had been resolved, the faults remain. The explanation that amused me the most was being told that, if the car does not detect the key, I should shake the key so the vehicle can recognise it. (It is a thing indeed with new generation of keys but not every second day 😂)
So now, every time I approach my brand new car, I apparently need to stand there shaking the key like a pair of maracas. It’s almost funny… if it wasn’t happening with a five week old vehicle and a brand new battery on the key 👀
This has been, without question, the worst customer service experience I have ever encountered when purchasing a new car. Buying a new vehicle should be an exciting experience, not one filled with frustration, unanswered calls and unresolved faults.
I am now seriously considering documenting this entire experience on social media so that prospective customers can see exactly what my BYD ownership journey has been like specifically with this branch.

After being a loyal customer of Ringways/D. M. Keith since 2012 and buying 8 cars through them, I attended a 9am VIP event appointment to discuss changing my car.
Unfortunately, the experience was far from VIP. Product knowledge was lacking, the appointment felt poorly handled, and after waiting around an hour, I was told the figures needed manager approval, but the manager was not due in until 11am.
I was promised a follow-up call and email, but nothing came. I had to chase several times before receiving a response. To be fair, the Commercial Manager who contacted me was excellent, apologetic, and took the time to listen properly, even though it was not his department. His follow-up was appreciated.
However, when I later received the call from the relevant team, it felt like a standard call with generic responses. I still do not understand where things went wrong or why the appointment and follow-up were handled so poorly.
This follows a recent issue I had already raised regarding a service plan, so it has unfortunately reinforced my feeling that the standard of service has declined.
After many years of loyalty, I have now gone to another provider. Very disappointing from a company that promotes a personal touch and excellent customer service.

I bought a SEAT Leon TSI Estate from DM Keith last month. I found the pricing was highly competitive, even with online brokers, communication with the sales team was excellent and they managed to effect a smooth handover, despite the original staff member I was dealing with having to take urgent sick leave at the last moment. Also- the trade in price for my old car was more than that (finally) offered by WeBuyAnyCar. I highly recommend DM Keith.

Picked up my new car yesterday 30th July 2026. Fantastic experience once again. From sales man Paul Johnson with his knowledge of skoda cars and making it so easy and making me feel relaxed through to maizee for the hand over who again made you feel relaxed and welcoming. Both these people are fantastic. This is my 5th skoda. Would not go anywhere else.

In November of last year we bought a new Seat Arona at D.M.Keith, York. The sales process was smooth and the car performed well initially. However, early in the New Year a light appeared on the dash warning us that that there was a problem with the passenger side air bag. The car was returned to to the service department for rectification. On collecting the car we had not travelled 5 miles when the warning light reappeared. Since then car has been back to the garage four times, the most recent being this Monday ( 27/08) unfortunately with the same result. On this occasion I also reported that the emergency compressor didn't work. On inspection on its return it became clear that the compressor had not been touched. I discussed these issues with Service Manager Dale on 27/08 and he undertook to get back to me with a plan for his next actions. I have yet to hear anything.
Clearly Keith’s sales processes are good but their ability to deliver on their warranty responsibilities leaves a lot to be desired.

We purchased a Skoda from your dealership in York. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Robert, who looked after us, couldn't have been more helpful. He was very knowledgeable and polite without being pushy. Buying the car was easy and relaxed, everything was explained to us. Thank you Robert for looking after us so well. Tony and Pat Clark

The selling process was great and smooth, or so I thought. I did not need finance, but was sold it on the basis that I could pay it off even after one month, and just pay the interest on that payment, but I would get 2 free services for this price, and it was a no brainer. I was assured of this 4 times. It wasn’t true, and has cost me over £2500. The conversation was witnessed, but they are still denying it. This is the worst sort of mis selling.
On top of this, a new car with a discount of 26% looked like a great deal. Some 6 months later, and the car is worth just over half the list price. So, I have taken a financial hit of £2500 on the finance, and £6k on the value of the car. Could this be the worst deal and worst practice ever? Avoid.
The sales process itself was great. I want to start by saying that Jamie, who handled our purchase, was friendly, knowledgeable, and gave us a genuinely positive experience while we were deciding on a used, approved BYD Seal U (25 Plate) in June 2026. Unfortunately, that's where the good experience ended.
Jamie promised a follow-up call one week after collection to check everything was okay and to see whether we had any questions. That call never came! I had to chase him myself, and there was no apology for the missed commitment. It set the tone for what followed.
A few weeks in, I noticed the boot button on the driver's door was broken. I drove to the dealership on a Sunday to report it in person and was told it would be logged, and I should call back in the morning to book it in. Following that advice, I did that the very next day and was told someone would call me back. That callback didn't happen either, and so I had to call them again myself the next day. When I finally got an appointment, I went in expecting to leave the car for repair, only to be told on arrival that a part needed to be ordered and I'd have to come back a second time.
By the second appointment, I'd found two more faults: a recurring windscreen washer fluid warning (a known/common issue on these cars) and a damaged electric charging cap that looked as though it had previously been bodged, causing it to fall off intermittently. I raised both issues when dropping the car off and showed staff directly. When the boot button repair was done, they called me, and I was told the washer fluid sensor would be covered under warranty — but the sales manager, Adam, refused to cover the charging cap, despite the fact I'd owned the car for only four weeks and granted this isn't something you'd reasonably check before buying a nearly new car, or any car in fact.
Overall, the pre-sales experience was excellent, but as soon as you've signed the papers, the after-sales service isn't great and has been frustrating and, at times, dismissive. Between missed callbacks, having to chase repeatedly, and a refusal to cover a fault on a car I'd barely had a month, it feels like the moment that the sale is made, the customer stops being a priority. This doesn't fill me with confidence if I find more issues with the car while it's still under their 3-month warranty.
I had recommended this dealership to family, but I've since told them to think carefully before doing the same. I'd urge anyone considering a purchase here to go in with eyes open about what after-sales support actually looks like. I'm also looking into taking the charging cap issue further because I think it's unacceptable that I've been finding so many issues on a nearly new 'approved' car after putting my trust into this dealership.
