Outstanding Quality
I discovered Essential Foods after attending a Working Canine Expo last year, and I can honestly say it has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my dogs.
At the time, I had a working spaniel who was showing signs that his previous food simply wasn’t agreeing with him. Within just a month of switching him to Superior Living, the difference was remarkable. His stools became healthy and well-formed, he was no longer straining, his body condition improved, and his coat became incredibly soft and glossy. I even noticed a reduction in the tartar on his teeth. He had fantastic energy levels and, best of all, his food bowl was empty every single day—he genuinely loved the kibble.
When I later started working with two young working spaniels, there was no question about what I would feed them. I transitioned them both onto Superior Living, and once again the results have been outstanding. They absolutely love it. Their stools are consistently healthy, their coats are beautifully soft and shiny, and they have maintained excellent body condition. As someone who works with dogs every day, those things are incredibly important to me.
They also enjoy the Nautical Small Kibble for breakfast, which disappears just as quickly! Their favourite treats are the turkey treat sticks and dental sticks, and they get just as excited for those as they do for their meals.
The quality of Essential Foods’ products is exceptional, and it’s clear that a great deal of care goes into everything they produce. I also really appreciate the thoughtful free gifts included with each order—they’re a lovely touch.
On the one occasion I needed to contact customer services, the support I received was excellent. The team were friendly, knowledgeable and incredibly helpful.
If I could suggest one small improvement, it would be the option to receive a downloadable PDF receipt with the order confirmation email, as this would make record-keeping much easier.
Overall, I genuinely cannot recommend Essential Foods highly enough. The difference it has made to my dogs’ health, condition and enjoyment of their food has been incredible, and I wouldn’t feed them anything else.

Excellent food
Excellent food, both dogs enjoy, coats are good and both dogs have good body weight.
The delivery service is also excellent, I receive my order within 2 days and I live in Highlands of Scotland.
Choice of food and treats is extensive and quality very good. I have now changed my cats on to Essential food and treats. Highly recommend.

Tasty transparent and speedy treats!
These guys make great, healthy, dog food. Everyone comments on his shiny coat and I think that’s to do with his food. The transparency about the ingredients is important to me. I like that the company drops in extra treats for free, and the delivery speed makes up for how slow I am to remember I need to order more, so he’s never gone hungry!
