FilmFreeway is the THE place to go for submitting your projects to festivals. I have been using FilmFreeway since 2016 and I still use it to this day. Like anything in life you will need to do your research into what festivals will be best for your specific project. Sometimes it's good to aim high for big world premieres, sometimes you want a quick round of feedback from a festival, and sometimes you want to see if you can win an award against other projects being submitted.

FilmFreeway is like a mind reader, always adding new features we need to make it easier for us. I wanted to 'like' festivals, and then one day *BAM* a new feature appeared for making my own list of favorite festivals and more. Imagine that! I emailed FilmFreeway to thank them!

FilmFreeway is so easy to use and there's so much helpful information about each festival, it makes the experience fun. Go explore all the festivals, check out the reviews, check out the photos, check out their facebook, see if it's something you can see yourself be a part of! Imagine that YOU'RE the one in those photos holding the awards!

I thought FilmFreeway was super easy to use and customer service was great when I had a few basic questions about submitting my film to festivals. The negative reviews about not getting their film accepted is just part of the game, not an issue with the company. I like FilmFreeway - way better than anything else I’ve used.

Filmfreeway is far superior site to all the others. Its great to navigate and edit your film and profile, the layout is great, its very easy to find the information you need. Blows the others away by a mile. It is much easier to put all the material in one place than to send all the material to different festivals all the time.
I like the filtering possibilities where you look up festivals, which makes it easier for a fairly narrow film to find the festivals that may be relevant. As well as the ability to update the page easily and follow
the film’s statistics.

Spent $700 with these bums at FilmFreeway.

Out of 12 film festivals I applied to, I only heard back from 4.

You would think the 8 other film festivals would have been gracious to at least say they were passing, right? They took our $50 bucks and laughed their way to the bank.

AVOID applying to film festivals. If your film is any good, just email the festival director and send them the film with NO APPLICATION FEE.

This is quickly turning into a complete waste of resources and money. 1 out of over 20 “not selected” festivals will explain why your film wasn’t selected. I don’t think many of the films make it to a human. I could understand this for Sundance, etc, but particularly short film festivals and monthly’s. They should be able to communicate why your film didn’t make it. Many don’t even send you a courtesy email, and the ones that do are automatically generated and totally impersonal. For the fees of some these festivals, this is petty and lame and clearly a scam. Good luck!

The site was very easy to use, but the most impressive aspect of this company was the team behind it.
I have never interacted with such polite and friendly people before. They were so willing to answer every question I had and always in a pleasant manner, no matter how silly or obvious. They really helped me a lot and made the whole process easy and relaxed. Outstanding customer service.

Filmfreeway showed that they are willing to listen to their customers issues and amend them.

They initially set my festival as non-public but after me explaining how they have misunderstood my company they were able to set it as public

Complete crap company, they have a list of requirements to make you’re festival public I did everything on the list and they still denied me. Not sure the policy or politics behind this company but after reading the reviews glad they didn’t.

This company is scam. We had the festival for three years in their archive, without a reason, they closed the account, took the users' money. We have to stop the competition because the works were lost. We made the complaint and everything is documented and the users can to witness it. Not recommended.

At its core it is a good service. You can sign up for film festivals and generally the festivals are real.

The issue lies with the fact you can barely unsubscribe from emails. Festivals can obviously email huge lists of emails and it doesn't matter if you unsubscribe from individual festivals because another festival can still email you.

It is understandable if they're ones you've entered but they rarely are.

Most recently I have received a ton of emails on an account for my own festival that hadn't even launched yet! I made sure to specifically unsubscribe from their emails but clearly they don't care.

Support tells me they don't give out my email which I suppose is possible and that FILM freeway acts as a middle man so the third parties never actually see my email, but that is not really the point when my inbox is filling up with these useless emails.

I have specifically been told by support I will no longer receive emails and since then (yesterday evening) I've received 4. I'm sure by the end of the day I'll have even more.

Fully recommend using a throw away email with them. If this is their approach to your data, I would worry about all your other information too.

Very scam company. We have used this platform for 2 years, they have used our image to take users' money. When we registered another festival, they asked us for money, and we didn't refuse and they closed both accounts, creating big problems for the various participants and for our organization. We have also sent all the press information on our events supported by the institutions, but we have not solved anything. We filed a complaint with the Canadian police and reported it to the Embassy, these scams cannot be suffered. We do not recommend using it if you do not want to lose your money and damage the image

One problem with FilmFreewqy is that they don't announce upfront the location of the festival. You have to scratch around to find out.

How can you pick what festivals to enter and attend if they don't tell you WHERE they are.

New vision international film festival is on their books and it’s a total SCAM film freeway need to STOP including festivals online. They made us dress up in evening gowns do fake interviews in a golf club miles from anywhere THEY HAD NO SCREENINGS I’ve now been used to promote next years nviff with no clues as to where my film was EVER shown

There is little or no vetting, resulting in fake festivals that accept fees without actually reviewing submissions. In my own experience, a submission went from "under consideration" to "not reviewed" to "not accepted." Imagine that: not reviewed and therefore not accepted. Clearly, a fake "take the money and run" scam. From a legal perspective, FilmFreeway is as liable for the scam as the scammers themselves. Shame on them and the fake festivals that they allow to be promoted.

Filmfreeway is a GEM. Since starting my screenwriting career in 2018. They have gone above and beyond. Their customer service is second to none and the people are amazing. I recommend this site to everyone looking for a way to submit their projects.

FilmFreeway is the best thing to have happened for indie filmmakers, like me. Seamless workings, never disappoints. I absolutely heart it!

FilmFreeway is an excellent company and website to deal with. As a Film Festival we use their website to receive submissions from Film-makers all around the world. The site is easy to navigate, has adaptability, custom forms and features that can be changed but also their customer service is second to none. Within twenty four hours I have always had a response to my queries and more than that - quick action when things need to be addressed. I'd highly recommend FilmFreeway either as a film-maker or as a FilmFestival
