Glasgow Angling Centre Reviews 

Very poor service. Ordered 2 rods & according to the delivery page, it was due for dispatch in 4 days. When it didnt arrive I called and the phone message said 7 days. When it still didnt arrive and I managed to speak to someone, I was curtly informed that they had no idea why it hadn't gone out. The employee was surly and no apology was made. The rods did arrive after 17 days, well packaged and with two catalogues I immediately binned. The bad reviews are right. Great website, terrible service.

Great selection compared to most shops, but sadly they are either incompetent of thieves.

They forgot to include and item in an order, claimed would send it to me and even after 3 more orders, never did so. More fool me for having continued to shop with them for another 6 weeks, as now the same with another order, this time 2 items missing.

I'm not even going to try to get it sorted on the second order, as all they do is make promises, keep fobbing you off then eventually ignoring your mails altogether.

Seriously don't get why they have put so much work into a great site, solid selection and prices, simply to screw things up with terrible service. I strongly suggest you avoid, as they are great when things go right, but anything goes wrong, you are the one that will pay for their mistake.

Done a lot business with Glasgow Angling. Working in the Construction Industry, I know how frustrating it is just trying to get basic items, but though some products are out of stock, this company cannot be held responsible for the very difficult trading conditions we ALL find ourselves in. Just a pity I can only give 5 stars! Would be a lot more if it was possible.

These are of no help to you at all and dont no how to talk to people stay clear they have a lot of bad reviews

Absolutely amazing service, I had ordered this online on Tuesday afternoon gone 4 O'Clock and received my rod on Thursday before 10 am. Couldn't be happier with an incredibly fast service with the best rod I could have ever dreamed of. I genuinely cannot rate this company highly enough

Shocking after sales, and customer service . I’ve spent thousands of pounds in this shop over the years and when I returned a rod with a fault, which came with a lifetime guarantee I was told there’s nothing they could do via a txt message.

A good company with a pretty frustrating website. Their prices are pretty good, the service is very good. I just wish their website only showed the items they have in stock and that the filters worked.

HAD AN ORDER FOR 5 ITEMS (£224.97) ONLY ONE IN STOCK. UNBELIEVABLE, AND THEY WANTYOU TO SPEND MONEY WITH THEM USELESS COMPANY

Ordered on line several times over the years and not had any problems - goods arrive on time and well packaged. Have used customer services to sort out a couple of hiccups with items gone out of stock and all been sorted with quick phone call.
When I left a rod on my order by mistake that was out if stock and not due in this year, I phoned up, got a refund next day and the person I spoke to took the time to advise on suitable alternative and a matching real which I then ordered and arrived 2 days later.
Have seen some stinking reviews but my experiences have been positive even when quite clearly my error. The stock range is really good, the prices overall are reasonable and find website ordering easy.

Brilliant service.
I've used these guys a number of times over the years. Always been a grand service. Only one problem where I received a rod where one of the eyes was manufactured wrong. They sent me a replacement the next day and said I could keep the one I had as the good half could be kept as a spare. Cant say better than that! Much more help than some of the other big name fishing retailers.

Terrible customer service avoid will use anglers direct from now on
They avertized product in picture and send a different one than in picture then say well it's in the discription
And would rather loose over a thousand a year in our future purchases. For the sake of £5
Arrogant manager and customer service rep had a tiff send it back attatude well words spreading as our club is 500 members not a good way to treat new customers not 500 of them purchased for club

Purchased waders over the phone at which point they were very helpful. I was told that due to current restrictions goods might take longer to arrive, which is perfectly understandable. After one month the goods had not arrived, despite them taking money for them. I also received no receipt. When I called to enquire first I was hung up on, then when I tried again I was told that they sent me an email to explain that they no longer had the waders I purchased in stock which I had never received (turns out the address was wrong). I wasn't offered an alternative pair but was given a 'refund'. They were unable to provide a proper receipt or documentation of this refund but the best they could do was a screenshot. Then they hung up with no regards or thank you. I have left this experience concerned that this company has my card details, that they might actually be scamming me and with no satisfactory paper-trail that is good enough for the company that I work for. We purchase waders regularly and I will advise coworkers to avoid Glasgow Angling Centre until they sort out their customer service. And I will anxiously await my refund coming through.

I recently bought a reel on a super offer (almost 50% off) from Hardy. I can inlu say that the delivery was faster than Amazon prime. Placed the order at 11 am and received the product 24 hours later.
Hopefully i won’t need to see how they handle warranty issues.

Update: second order from them arrived as advertised on the web. Few days for the product to be dispatced (as allready stated on the website) then 1 day tracked delivery with ups.
Five stars for the service especially for these covid times.

Best fishing store in the UK and best products prices and the delivery service is so great Glasgow Angling Centre is my main place to shop online to buy Sea fishing gear.

Absolutely happy and satisfied by this company, clear reliable and polite in all aspect of their business, people that they don't need loose their reputation making scams and deceptions, who is talking bad about them is telling lies , several purchases and never got a problem

I ones agen i have had to open a dispute with PayPal over a item I purchased over two weeks ago and still not received it.
I had no response to messages and three days on no response to PayPal request for then to contact them.
How this company treats is customers is a disgrace.
They sell items noing full well thay don't have them and take ower money .
Thay have the attitude of could not care less we have your money tuff luck..
Buyers take my advice do not deal with .

two company's i can recommend breakaway tackle and veals fishing tackle both are excellent. And if thay don't have thay don't sell it.

A relatively new wading boot lost its sole. They replaced the pair, no quibble. Arrived within 48 hr. Excellent

Rubbish service. Can’t get their deliveries out in less than a week. Mine took 8 days, despite selecting their “Courier Delivery” for £6.95. How come other retailers (eg John Lewis, Amazon) can get theirs out in less than 48h, even in the midst of the Covid crisis? The other problem with GAC is a very high % of the items in their catalog/ website are actually out of stock. My advice: choose someone else.
