I don't think I would have successfully launched my website in the time that I have if it wasn't for Focusmate. I travel longterm and often work alone out of airbnbs and hotels. To have someone on the otherside of the screen helps me stay focused for long stretches of time. While I'm not sure if it's because I have undiagnosed ADHD or simply motivation issues, Focusmate helps me stay accountable. Thanks for existing!

I was recently laid off and they helped me with their scholarship application. As someone with ADHD I'm truly grateful because peer effects motivate me a lot and the focusmate design is my favorite among body doubling apps. I highly recommend this to anyone with ADHD or wants more motivation to get things done.

Over the last four years, I’ve used Focusmate to get started at the beginning of my workday, finish tedious tasks, and stay focused on what’s most important to me.

It's been an invaluable resource and motivator, and I can't say enough good things about it!

I had no idea how helpful Focusmates would be until I started using it. I can use Focusmates to provide the necessary non-judgemental accountability to complete a large range of tasks, from completing the task I need to finish as soon as possible that I have not been able to complete for weeks or to just keep me aware that I do not want to scroll my phone. Thereby stopping me lose hours to the void.

The main feature is the matching of people to be accountable for each other and body double. This main feature is well done, flexible and can easily handle a range of situations. There are additional features which add value without flaw. I love that I can choose who I match with. I am able to choose both cis and trans females and non-binary individuals and exclude cis men to match with. I also appreciate that there is no direct or implied judgement about this option, it is just one of many options to better assist me finding a body double match that will work best for me.
I can also add tasks to my account and attach them to individual sessions. This is helpful for me to get things done in a session and not forget my long list of ideas. As an example, another small feature that additionally supports the wide community, Focusmates has "celebratory" options. I love to celebrate with visual and sound, it makes me smile and propels me on, I want them all on. While my husband views that exact same output as disproportionately patronising and irritating, he can turn them all off. This demonstrates the level of consideration for serving the community that is found again and again across the application.

Finally, the community is wonderful. I have met many people that vary in every aspect, except they have all been supportive and shared the same purpose.

I would recommend Focusmates to everyone and especially the Neurodivergent community. Those of us who are neurodiverse will find another level of relief, safety and productivity here. I am a cis female, so from the outside of the trans community, my observation is that it would provide the same to the trans community. We are safe here. Xx

Absolutely wonderful website for people struggling to focus and get work done. Love how I can book a session in advance and break the dreaded procrastination cycle since matching with a partner gives me an incentive to show up on time, and start working. The preferences feature is really great since it allows me to find people to co-work with comfortably. Love the safety features too. Initially I was pretty sceptical about meeting strangers online but so far all my sessions have gone smoothly with respectful coworkers and I've been able to meet my study goals really well :) Keep up the good work <3

Absolutely amazing! It's a community of co-work and compassion. Helps immensely structuring my day and articulating my tasks.

I am so glad a friend told me about Focusmate back in 2024. It has been a life-changing service for me. As a remote worker and small business owner with ADHD, it can be hard to always stay on top of things. I have been doing virtual coworks with friends for years, but it took too much time to schedule things and this allows me to just hop on at any time or book things out whenever I need it in advance. I owe so much of the success of my business to Focusmate. I can't live without and can't recommend it enough to anyone for literally anything!

It's a cliche - and almost everyone on Focusmate says it but...it's a gamechanger. I'm getting so much more done and I get a tiny bit of social interaction (micro doses of humans during the work day are great!).
