The loveliest thing about this company is their personalised approach to customer relations. I really felt I was listened to as an individual. What I ordered turned out--unsurprisingly--to be just right as a result!

Garden on a Roll had been on my radar for a little while before I finally decided to go with it. I was worried it might be too good to be true, or lacking value of money. However, faced with a large border which needed planting from scratch, and zero knowledge of garden design, I ordered the sensory garden border. The lead-in time to delivery was a little longer than I had hoped for, however I was kept well informed and, once dispatched, the plants and everything else included in the kit arrived quickly. It was very exciting unboxing it all and I was impressed with the quantity and quality of the plants included. One of the plants had not survived the journey, however a quick call to the office saw another sent straight away with no quibbles.

Having put a lot of groundwork into preparing the bed, planting it was an absolute doddle and was completed within a couple of hours. The border had instant impact, and two months on I am delighted with how well the plants have established. I love the range of colours, textures and scents and am confident that the border will provide year-round interest. It is alive with bees and other pollinating insects!

Garden on a Roll have helped me to create a border which far surpasses anything I would have managed if left to my own devices. I also believe it to be excellent value for money given how many plants were supplied. I could have easily spent the same amount at my local garden centre without having a clue about positioning and which plants work well together. I’m so glad I finally decided to go for it.

I was impressed by the quality and condition of my plants. They have all taken and are now thriving in my garden. The bag, trowel and gloves was a nice touch.

Had problem with one plant after about a month but contacted customer services who responded quickly and have sent replacement.
Plants are doing well and will be ordering a couple more borders next year!

Don’t be ripped off, please read and do some research and save yourself time and money!! This boarder cost me £579 and is a very honest review. I have since replaced lots of plants from elsewhere that are flourishing. Please take the time to read as you might save money!

Being a novice gardener I had thought about Garden on a Roll for a while (even before they released the pet friendly version) and decided to take the plunge and ordered.

I have an L shaped boarder with half being partial shade and one full sun and having a cat I ordered a pet friendly shady and sunny boarder costing £579. Plants arrived beginning of May in 1 litre pots and appeared healthy albeit very small for the excessive amount of money they cost. Lots of repeated plants, 10 plants repeated in the shady boarder and 2 in the sunny boarder the same as what was in the shady one. I assumed there wasn’t many pet friendly plants available being a novice gardener until a friend visited, who is an avid gardener and told me otherwise. I then did a bit of research on other pet friendly plants so I contacted Garden on a roll, as I wasn’t happy with the amount of repeated plants given the amount of pet friendly ones there are, who agreed to send me 3 additional plants.

All of the plants clash, they sent plants with white, yellow, orange and purple flowers, and a red one that is yet to flower, despite them claiming they stick to the same colour palette, I think someone needs an eye test.

The campanulas (there are 3) haven’t flowered and the foliage has grown slightly. They sent 2 potentilla in the separate boarders, the one in the shady boarder has grown and flowered slightly however the other didn’t grow at all and looked half dead. The Armeria was pitiful, barely grew or flowered. From the replacements sent, the nepeta died and the salvia I’ve had to cut back due to it being flat and collapsed as soon as it was planted. The heuchera I’ve had to cut back as they were in very poor condition so will wait to see what they do. My soil is in great condition as I used soil improvers to get in the best condition prior to planting. All plants have also been in watered daily.

So I have since replaced a lot of this boarder with plants from the local garden centre, local nurseries and B&Q such as another Nepeta and Armeria, different Salvias, echinacea, Hebes, verbena and other plants that are all pet friendly, established and have made my boarders now look stunning. They were all in 2-3 litre pots and much bigger compared with to what I received from Garden on a Roll that arrived in pitiful 1 litre pots and cost 3-4 times more.

Out of the ones left from garden on a roll I’ll give them till next year and again may replace. I know the pet friendly boarder is a newer addition to them so maybe this is the issue and they need to revisit and re design this.

Please do a little bit of research online, use ChatGPT, or visit a local garden centre or local nurseries and buy plants that are established and actually grow.

I was planning on ordering another 9m boarder for the front of the house next year however have started planning this myself and will save a significant amount of money, time and effort doing so.

Me and my wife had two large planters constructed in our garden, after numerous weeks of empty planters and promises of visiting the local nurseries to have a look at plants, nothing ever materialised, not to mention we would have had no clue what to buy for the planters. Friend recommended us Garden on a Roll we opted for the Mediterranean planters. Had a great weekend with the family planting all the plants by numbers and about 10 weeks later they look great.

I have loved nothing more than the experience with this company. The actual product and process of planting is truly seamless and ideal for beginners. The help we received and communication has been exceptional. It has transformed our garden and I will be looking to make another border soon so I can order again

We bought the Wildlife Garden in late September 2024, as complete novices. Through the cold winter, we honestly thought we’d made a mistake.

Now it’s July, and the garden has completely burst into life. Every day, something new takes centre stage or suddenly flourishes.

Biased as I am, our garden has gone from an eyesore to the best-looking one on the street — people even stop to admire it as they walk past.

Fantastic company. My only wish is that they offered larger border options — I need staggered height for a back garden project, with shrubs and plants growing from 3 to 8–10 feet.

Great communication. Any questions asked were answered. A fantastic solution for a reluctant gardener. It’s instilled confidence and pride in the bed we’ve put in place. Wouldn’t hesitate in using again for other areas of the garden.

Idea is great but unfortunately the plants were boring and setting out was wrong, some plants lost due to being to cramped.
It certainly wasn’t worth the money I’m sorry to say

3 of the plants were upside down,and 2 of them didn't grow.
