I have read the 1* reviews and it is a far cry away from the experience I had, Gent Law did two conveyancing jobs for me, 29th September 2025 buying a new build. Yes I was unaware of government rules, and the need for a conveyancer to do due diligence so my lack of understanding did raise questions, but the purchase was 100% in the end at very favourable terms, then on the 29th of June, a few days ago, Gent Law, completed their work on the sale of my old property. Again on very favourable terms. At no time did they make any mistakes and at all times they acted in my best interests, they followed my instructions and were meticulous in their work. Heading the team was Tania aided by Fiona and Hayley, all three were well and truly on the ball. So no I can’t see where others are giving this company low marks. Mine has to be 10/10. Well done ladies.

We had the most awful experience with Gent Law especially Jodie. No updates unless we called ourselves to enquire, wrong forms sent to complete, tried to complain to the owner, Rachael Gent, but she refused to take our call. In the end my partner went into the office to complain and Jodie would not even look at him let alone discuss our case, so who knows what service we were paying for. Absolutely appalling service and in the end we complained to Law Obudsman. Recommended by James Du Pavy, and after a bit of digging, worked out Rachel Gent and James Du Pavy are actual partners so no wonder they recommended. Do not use unless you want more stress, kept in the dark and a very shoddy service.

If I could mark this lower than 1 star, I would.
Truly expensive given the rubbish service.
Awful communication.
Disinterested staff. Fails to respond to queries either expeditiously or at all regardless of whether it's sent by email or phone.
Fails to explain processes, the list goes on and on.
No respect for clients, leaving them high and dry assuming things are happening when they are not.
Has an 'onboarding' app which is not fit for purpose as it fails to deal with individual circumstances.

Maybe they are good conveyancers, but they are terrible time managers and communicators.
We always was needed to clarify what is going on, what are the next steps and when we should expect them to be done.
There were many moments when simply things wasn't moving.
We constantly had impression that they are busy with other clients and don't have time for our case.
