Tom was fantastic helping with advice around walking boots and shoes and socks. Shared his personal experience and advice. So patient went out of his way to help on the hottest day of the year. Alex also lovely at the till. Couldn’t ask for better service. Gives these chaps a bonus!

As always, GoOutdoors had everything that I needed. I was served by Alex, who was really helpful in finding all the right things within the shop, in a kind and professional manner.

Myself and my daughter use this store very often and regularly use the Evri postal facility within the store. The gentleman that serves us is Matt B and we have to say, he goes far and beyond to assist us, making our visit very efficient and quick. He even runs around the store looking for items we wish to purchase if we are unable to find them. It is a pleasure to use this store and he is a credit to the company. Many thanks.

Great selection of camping chairs. I took mine to coubter where Chad told me he was sure these were on offer and checked for me resulting in me buying a second chair half price today. Excellent service. Thankyou Chad.

The staff member Chad was very friendly and helpful in helping find a day sack to fit me comfortably. They also showed me where the other items I needed were.

I only popped in for a browse with my husband as he had some fishing bits to buy but thought I’d look at some waterproof boots for the winter. I selected a few different styles and told the assistant my size. He soon appeared with my boots to try on. Gave me honest advice about each boot, comparisons between each style and asked specific questions about what I wanted them for ie: walking the dog, hiking, climbing etc. The assistant was George. A lovely, polite well informed young man. At no time did I feel I was bothering him and at no time did I feel pressured into buying anything. I did buy a pair of Scarpa boots in the end and can’t wait to test them out.
What a great asset George is to your company and he couldn’t have been more helpful. Thank you George.

My partner & I had a fantastic (and funny) experience at the Gloucester store today. Went in looking for last minute camping gear & George helpfully advised us on the best products for our trip. During the process our 16 week old pup decided it was toilet time by the tents outside! To our surprise, George came to the rescue with bags for us to clean up. Outstanding service, great advice - wouldn’t go anywhere else for our outdoor gear.

I visited the Gloucester store today looking to buy a new pair of walking shoes. Tom, in the footwear department was really helpful. His knowledge of the ranges is excellent and matched a few pairs for me to try on based on my requirements. Nothing was too much trouble. He took the time to listen to my questions and offered some great advice.
I opted for a pair of Meindl Mondello GTX in the end.
Also, Nia on the till was really efficient and very friendly.
Yet again, a great service from the team at Gloucester.

I enjoyed wandering round the shop today with a friend. I tried on and purchased 2 pairs of shorts. I was served by George at the checkout. He was friendly, chatty and knowledgeable. A great shopping experience.

What the hell are your upper management playing at.

I came in to spend a few of hundred pounds on camping stuff took it all up to the counter , only to be told that you could not " wasn't allowed " to accept cash, legal tender!!

We were then told that they couldn't accept cash as they were instructed by their area manager.

Fair play to the go outdoors staff because they're a good bunch but the upper management needs to give there heads a wobble.

How can you turn away a cash sale? Absolutely disgraceful decision that the staff have to enforce.

Served by Kia & Jack both were very helpful. Kia on the till was very knowledgeable and helped me complete a product exchange with no fuss. Taking time to explain my various options. I was very pleased with the service.

First I went to a store to pick up an item that the website said it had in stock, I got there and it wasn’t. The staff couldn’t be bothered to go and check the stock room and came up with all kinds of excuses such as “there’s not enough people in to go and check”. At the same time, the website was still saying that the store had it in stock.
I wrote to complain about this and heard nothing back, so bought the item elsewhere.

Then I ordered a tent online and my members card wouldn’t work, so had to phone them up to rectify. After about 2 days from ordering, they cancelled it with no explanation as to why. The email just said “sorry, we’ve cancelled your order”, it was still in stock online though. I had to phone them up and they said that it was cancelled because the store I was collecting it from couldn’t fulfil the order from their stock…just send it from the warehouse to the store!?
No sorry or goodwill gesture given.

Poor service throughout, the only reason I shop is because of the discount otherwise I’d go elsewhere.

Served by Tom who was polite, patient, and knowledgeable about the various available options. Once he knew that one of us was actively doing a charity walk from Lands End to John o’ Groats (he was on day 15 and had already walked over 300 miles) he managed to find a really good deal on a new pair of walking boots and we really appreciated the trouble he took making sure everything was perfect.
