We switched from Uline to Grainger and disaster
We switched from Uline to Grainger and ordered load control for a trailer (bars & straps) online. It shipped Monday, as two tracking numbers, and expected delivery date was Tuesday. Tuesday, the Fedex driver cannot seem to find a delivery address - it's a 10,000 square foot warehouse. Both were reset for delivery Wednesday - nothing doing. By this point, we need equipment Thursday morning, so we ordered by Grainger's deadline of 5pm on Wednesday for UPS delivery on Thursday by 10.30am, and changed the original Fedex delivery addresses to a retail store nearby, because two strikes with Fedex and we did not want a third (with likely the same driver). Thursday morning, UPS tracking shows delivery scheduled for Friday.
We managed to track the Fedex shipments down as being 'on the truck'. By Noon, one shows up at the original address and the other goes to the new address.
During the call with the Grainger rep, I was told getting Fedex to re-route is a minimum 24 hour process. That getting the UPS shipment was my problem, and we would have to return it and would have to take it back to Fedex!
Incorrect part, no label
I purchased two covers for Mitutoyo calipers. This was my second trial after Grainger screw me up a few years ago. Today's attempt was the same - the item was incorrect and definitely not a Mitutoyo one, but from other sources, because no labels are seen
Grainger Helpline Issue
Grainger fails to conceptualize appropriate decorum that a company should feel obliged to comply with. I experienced some of the rudest people in their helpline. Now, they shamelessly flirt their brand in an area where they have no business. There I was, locked behind a 15 second barrier between me and freedom. What stood in the way was none other than Grainger's corporate machinations. I am aghast at the despicable methods utilized by Grainger's elitist owners. Donald G. Macpherson, this is for you. Your greed has gone unchecked for too long. Your hunger still hasn't been sated from witnessing the total 3:00hrs I have waited on Youtube looking at (pardon my language) shitty a** ads without a skip button. At least give me the false sense of hope that I can not watch your ad. Yet you lack the basic human compassion to understand my pains. I hope you will do better in the future. (your an a**hole)
I purchased a wireless door chime from…
I purchased a wireless door chime from them today. I went to another supplier after that to purchase other items. I asked if they had door chimes. They had the exact same one for $32 less!!
I cannot even buy an Air Compressor motor at Graingers.
I have had an account with Graingers since 1983. I knew when they started selling to the public something fundamental had changed. I cannot even buy a Dayton Air Compressor motor for my Speedaire Air Compressor. They tried to sell me some monstrosity that won't fit the system I need it for. The employees are Polite, but they don't KNOW anything. I do not even recognize the place anymore. Everything you buy as to be ordered and waited for. The Warehouse in the back of the store appears to be empty. I would give them Zero Stars, but one star is the lowest they have. I am tired of driving up there just to hear "we don't stock it". also, Trust Pilot will not allow me to record the Correct Date which was yesterday March 3. 2026
No technical help
No technical help. The guy who was working with me hung up on me. Probably because he is uneducated with 3/4 od to 5/8 id Spacers.
I asked if he could tell me if I did go the route of a spacer would the Stainless Steel hold up to the 5k tongue weight. He just simply hung up on me.
I walked into the store and the manager…
I walked into the store and the manager ignored me,as I walked in,he eventually said I will have someone to help you. EmployeeXKXR158 as it was printed on my receipt.
I informed the employee that I was there to pickup an order. I told the employee I was reestablishing my account as I was told on the phone I could do that.
The battery was ordered from Milwaukee and I inquired if I could open the box to make sure that it was what I ordered. I was told NO until I paid for it, the employee told me to give him my credit card, I paid for the battery and I
I opened the package, I bought my charger with me to check the battery, the battery had no charge. I asked the employee if I could plug up the charger to see if the battery would charged. The manager was standing there listening I asked the employee and the manager if I could use a plug to see if the battery would charge, I was told NO they did not have a plug I could use.
I live 28 miles away from this location and I was told I have 30 days to return it. The employee wrote down my account # 888xxxxxxx on the receipt, but it shows Cash, but it should have been under my account so I could keep track of what I was spending.
The address on the invoice is incorrect my account # is not shown on the receipt.
I found the customer service was very slack while the manager looked on.
The manager was my 1st encounter he could have assisted me there was no one in the store at that time. The manager was white and he had a black customer service person to come and assist me. The black customer service agent needed more training to be effective in his customer service. The manager did not try to assist me as a customer.
The lack of customer service was enough for me not to want to continue as a customer with Grainger, A lost customer is lost money.
I am reaching out and hopefully I will get a response.
Thank you

Grainger, Stop advertising with still images
The ads are literally just a still image, no people, no animation, nothing, and it makes them look lowest of low quality because of that, like seriously! I've never seen an advert SO low quality it makes me genuinely wish to support a company, I feel bad, but Grainger, make animated adverts if you have too
Total Misrepresentation of Product
I ordered 2 stringed sediment filters from Grainger. When I opened the box, they were smooth, not stringed. Due to our water compositive, stringed filters work best.
I was told I could return them at my cost, of course, or I could physically bring them back to a Grainger store. Closest one is 40 min away. Ok, so I wanted to exchange it for the stringed one, and was also told I could do that. I was issued a credit.
When I got there a few days later, an employee looked up my product and the stringed one and said they both had the same product number, which he couldn't figure out.
He made a call and whoever he spoke to said if I ordered the stringed one again, I would get the smooth, molded one as it was considered "stringed." I laughed. Was this some kind of new stringed filter that looked smooth on the outside but had a stringed core? NO, it was the molded, smooth sediment filter. We looked online at the stringed filter and it looked like a 20" cone of tightly wound string, as have all my previous "stringed" filters.
I won't use this company again as they are completely aware of this misrepresentation and don't care. Why would anyone want to take a chance on purchasing a product that is not what it seems and have it fail on them because the difference isn't visible. NO THANKS.
I was not told this issue would be fixed.
Grainger runs false advertisement
Grainger runs false advertisement. I ordered 6 sheets of rubber, three foot by 5 foot, .097 thick for $9.99 ea. Item#841UF5 this product was being shipped to store #610 in Pittsburgh, Pa. When I drove 38 miles to pick it up, the rubber sheets were only one foot square. I then showed the person working the counter my order with the item number. He could see that it was 3 ft buy 5ft. He then had no answer for me and referred me to his manager Eric. Eric after looking at my order said that he and the company would not back this order up and that it was deleted. SO BUYER BEWARE WHEN ORDERING FROM GRAINGER.
Galactically horrid customer service.
Wow. I wish I had checked the reviews here before giving this horrid company a dime of my money. I recently ordered some shipping boxes on eBay via Grainger's seller account there. A few days later I started getting unsolicited marketing messages at the e-mail account I use for eBay.
It is an eBay policy violation for sellers to send direct marketing to customers outside of the eBay system. So I wrote to Grainger expressing my disappointment about this breach of my privacy and to demand that they remove me and send no more marketing. I also told them I would be reporting the seller violation to eBay.
I'm astonished at the adversarial, pissy response I received from their so-called customer service who tried to gaslight me by telling me that I signed up for marketing (which I absolutely did not) but then said they had no record of me otherwise. They also characterized my warning that I would be reporting them to eBay as a "threat". I cannot believe that they would allow someone to take that tone with any customer, let alone someone in a front line customer service position. That they thought it was OK to act that poorly in a transaction with a customer sends a powerful message that they simply do not care. The company's failure to acknowledge or respond to the HUGE number of negative reviews here also echoes this.
Do business with this company at your own risk. The contempt they have for customers is astounding.
UPDATE: After being VERY clear in January 2026 that I did not want marketing, and after requesting they permanently remove me from their records, I have continued to received unsolicited survey requests from Grainger. By my calculations I have unsubscribed at least 3 times now and it just doesn't stop. Harvard Business School ought to do a. case study on these guys for be in the top echelon for terrible, clueless customer service.
All the advertising in the world…
All the advertising in the world doesn't make up for crappy products. Their slogan is meaningless when the products they provide are sub-standard. The carboard boxes I got from them were so pathetic and basically unusable unless I was willing to take the time to re-glue and re-form them. That is unacceptable. The worst boxes I have even been shipped in my 25 years of doing business. Bought through Zoro-not their fault-Grainger's fault as they are the drop shipper for Zoro. I used Grainger back in the 1960 when WW was alive and I can assure you this never would have happened if he were still around. Exactly what happens when the founder builds a great company then incompetent staff tear it down.
Wish I could give zero stars
Wish I could give zero stars. Ordered something online and got a confirmation email saying it was something else. Contacted customer service and was told that someone would follow up the next day. They didn’t, so I called again and told them I wanted what I ordered, not what they said I was getting. Customer service said that they contacted manufacturer and that I was getting what I ordered on the website. So I waited for it to arrive, then drove over an hour away to pick it up pulling a 25ft trailer, just to find out that they sent what the confirmation email said when I told multiple people that I did not want it. All customer service offered was an apology and told me the website had been corrected, that the information was incorrect.
We have been a customer for over 35…
We have been a customer for over 35 years. They now review your credit with them ( Note we pay under the 30 day terms)every time you order. They called it an "EVER CHANGING CREDIT LIMIT" Never heard of that one before.. but we were told our account was on hold till they review it. Our serviceman waited 20 minutes for this while he could have been in and out of the store in 10. Maybe not a really big deal, but they( the credit department) told us they will be doing this everytime you come in to order. SMH... Not the best business practice. I could see doing this once or even twice a year, but everytime. Good way to lose customer base.
Grainger Canada - great online experience.

JUMBO STEP SERIES STEP STOOL, GREEN, 2 FT H, FIBREGLASS, TYPE IAA ANSI $418.09 plus shipping and tax.
Mfr. Model # 11933
Shipping weight: 21 pounds
Item Weight: 18lbs (8.16kg)
Country of origin: China.
Well, I did my research and was sold on this ladder after much reading. Luckily I have the time to do so. And,believe it or not I could find only two places in Canada that had it. One would not deliver to my location. But, Granger did and, at a modest price. Can’t say enough good about that.
This model was chosen because now that my wife and I are a bit older we need stability and safety. With its large wide steps and fibreglass frame, this hit the boxes. We sometimes like to switch out lighting fixtures and the fibreglass was key for a small amount of protection against electrical mishaps. The steps are a welcome design as we don’t have the balance or alacrity of our younger selves. Further on for design, this ladder has a big folding piece of frame that swings up and down. Down for folding it away and up it acts as a support when we get to the highest step. It also has a nice little tool tray built into it Sora small items like screws, lightbulbs, fittings. And overall it’s well built, feels strong and steady whilst using it. It’s really amazing if we are comparing the step stool variety of ladders. This may be the best.
It does have a couple of cons that WERE NOT dealbreakers for me and my wife. It’s heavy. I mean, not for me. But she is comparing it to some other make we had from a Walmart deal which is very light and smaller. This has the robustness of a commercial ladder and has some weight to it. That’s ok, as I carry it around to where we need it and a set of stairs or two is no bother.
The other. Con is it has no locking mechanism when folded and put away after use. To solve that, I bought a ‘Wrap It’ strap with Velcro and just wrap one side of the ladder with both folds closed. Works perfect to keep it closed.
Lastly is price. This is no cheapy. But neither is it cheaply made. Once you handle it you’ll see the designers here built this to last. It’s one of if not the most useful designed ladders I’ve ever used for household tasks. It should come with every new house built LOL.
After having used it now a bunch of times, the aforementioned pros and cons stand. There is room for improvement like a locking mechanism. And an integrated carry handle would probably appease the gals, if this was possible. But that second suggestion is being nit picky.
Obviously, I highly recommend this model. I looked hard at all the big and small dealers in Canada for this. Plus I made sure to check the competition. The same brand - Little Giant - has an aluminum version of this. Actually more than one model in aluminum build. Those are easy to find.
Why Grainer was the only one who had it in stock and would deliver it just 90 min outside Toronto, I don’t get, but it is what it is. I tip my hat to them.
Grainger is an odd retailer. Their brick and mortar stores are rather small (but there’s allot of them), they seem to cater mostly to pro’s and to me aren’t altogether very impressive. But they have a whole other world in their online e-commerce business and carry almost anything you need in consumer hardware. I’ve made multiple online orders now and each one has gone smoothly, using one of the big courier companies for their deliveries right to my front door.
It’s worth checking out for your next purchase.
so far no problems.
No problems with on line order and return, no problems with items purchased at the store. Employees professional and helpful. The wait time for pick up can be long sometimes.

I received a Dayton drill with missing parts. I contacted the Grainger customer service number in the manual. I spent 45 mins talking to several people. No one was able to order the patr for me. Yes, I had the part number. The best they could offer was to dismantle the drill press and return it for a replacement. No more need be said!
I ordered the product on 9/9/25 to be…
I ordered the product on 9/9/25 to be delivered on 9/26/25. On 9/24/25 I was notified by email of change of the delivery date to 11/5 (!). On 9/25 I found the alternative and contacted Grainer to cancel the order. On 9/26 at 8:27 am I have received email from customer support aknowledging my cancellation request. At 10:12 am I have received the shipping confirmation with the tracking number. I called Grainger and was told there is nothing I can do but I can return the product at my own expense if I want my money back. BUYER BEWARE
