Hobgoblin Music Reviews

I closed my accordion business last year and I was left without an accordion which was the right quality and right size.
After researching I discovered a second hand Fantini Allodi 72 bass 4 voice in mint condition so after sending and receiving several emails Mark the manager sent me a video of himself playing the Fantini.
That was it I purchased it late Monday and they sent it out to me on Tuesday and I received it on Wednesday what great service.
It was very well packaged with the bass side internally packed as I used to do when I sent out accordions to my clients. For once I was a private customer dealing with Mark at Hobgoblin in Birmingham and I am living in Scotland.
So folks do not hesitate dealing with this company as they have the same values as myself when I was in business.

I'm writing this review much later than intended, but Hobgoblin Music staff were so helpful to me last Christmas and I need to celebrate that! I was going to pop into their London Fitzrovia shop to buy a specific harmonica for my brother's Christmas present, so I phoned in advance and they helpfully told me that they didn't have it in stock but that it would be straightforward to order from their website. I placed the order easily, but was a bit surprised there was only one delivery fee option that was pricey. I decided to proceed because my brother really wanted the item plus I wanted to support an independent music business, and soon after I placed my order, without prompting, I received an apology about the high delivery fee and a refund of the difference. The communication was excellent and I'd definitely use them again. The staff were knowledgeable, helpful and honest. Recommend 100%.

Huge shout out to every person I interacted with on my instrument buying journey in the Canterbury branch, from Liz who endured about half an hour of questions without a sale, to Tony who tuned up my guitar and endured even more questions, and the brilliant luthier that helped my wife with her first violin.

Brilliant experience from the perspective of a total musical novice, and will most certainly be coming back for all future supplies!

Very swift delivery, within 3 days of first order. When I've visited Hobgoblin shops the staff have always been helpful.

Great service, fast delivery, good quality product. Thank you.

It's an Aladins cave populated by music experts that helped enthuse my daughter, and made me buy a beautiful guitar.

I found Hobgoblin to be a joy to deal with.. The straps were of high quality, which is not always easy to grasp through a number of photos, reasonably priced and arrived promptly.. Thank you.

Great selection of strings, very prompt delivery

Have used Hobgoblin (both mail-order and in shop) many times. Always incredibly helpful and very quick turnarounds for dispatch. Good range of merchandise and often very competitive in price. Highly recommend.

Good quality mandolin strap. Arrived quickly cost reasonable ❤️

I originally went into Hobgoblin to ask if they would buy an old flute I had at the beginning of April. They said they would take a look so I returned on the 9th with the flute and they promised £80-100 and would let me know the following week. I had heard nothing by the beginning of May so rang and asked and got told they didn't want to buy the flute (although they offered sale or return which I didn't want).
So I am annoyed that they had two chances to tell me they didn't want the flute, but they told me they did and then they didn't communicate with me for 4 weeks, only responding when I chased them. Broken promises.

Excellent service, fast delivery and good prices!
Bought a few things from them over the years, a Waltons bodhran being the latest.

Great service, items arrived in perfect condition and on time.

They had a product I couldn't easily find elsewhere, and it was delivered very promptly - next day, I think

Web site complements customer experience in the Hobgoblin shops: no pressure sales, try guitars in store, and order centrally.

The people at Hobgoblin were warm and helpful on the phone. There had been a glitch on the website where tariff related charges were estimated as unreasonably high for an inexpensive item but I phoned them and they helped me place my order with the proper tariff charges upfront. Also, they’re the only place online that sells leather tipped bodhran tippers (which give a nice bassy sound). I recommend them
