The car is a 2001 V70 T5 with 245k miles, purchased at 186k, I had the impression that the TB interval was 150k so didn't think about it, when I checked... 105k, oops 30k overdue! I was told by the shop I bought it from that I was on borrowed time and they could do it for $825.00. That's more than I really wanted to put out. Decided to drive our other car till it's done. We are on the Oregon "CV-19 Stay and Home order", so I figured I could take my time and do this at home. I did a lot of research in looking for the best timing belt kit option, and IPD won. Not the cheapest, but not the highest, free shipping quick delivery time. I wanted a Continental TB and an Aisin water pump, included in the kit were INA tensioner and roller, as well as fresh bolts for the WP. Of the ten sources that I checked, IPD had what I needed and at $159.41 I would be able to keep the extra $650.00. I called and got great information from the in house staff. He had done the job that I was going to do on his own T5 and gave good advice that added to the confidence of doing the timing belt / water pump replacement. I've done Oil & Trans fluids, replaced 2 radiators and upgraded a failing throttle body, but generally have avoided some of the deeper stuff. I allowed the job to take longer than needed, as I cleaned the engine while I went and upgraded an oily turbo boot with a nice blue IPD version. In the end, everything went together well and the car sounds great. It will be nice to get back on the highway once the travel restrictions are lifted.

This month I made two large parts purchases, one from IPD, the other from Rock Auto. (Important info I live in Canada)

The IPD delivery came very quickly even without the extra shipping options chosen. Quicker than I thought because when I received a call at 12:40 at night saying UPS needs $60.00 in duty fees to be paid before morning delivery I was bittersweet enthused. Cheerful that my parts were here quick, but peeved that once again I am dinged hard on fees. In comparison with my Rock Auto order where my similar value order came in 3 separate deliveries and yet I was charged nothing for duties/brokerage fees.

Perhaps IPD should look at their shipping process.

I do still very much appreciate the service they provide for keeping our old iron on the road.

Good selection of the most popular parts for my S60 R. The only disadvantage they have over the competition is their location creates longer wait times for receiving my orders.
