We purchased a van from JMT Leisure in April of this year a 2006 Autotrail cheyenne, yes 20 yrs old and all looked ok , first time out boiler stopped working
and due to its age the engineer was unable to replace the control panel plus the wiring was in need of replacing and the pump, JMT offered to replace the panel but as it needed other work we decided to replace the boiler at a cost of £2,000 ÷ when we informed the company they offered us £500 towards it. It also had several oil leaks which we had repaired and a new Cambelt which we were offered £500 towards as apparently they only pay £350 for Cambelt replacement themselves along with that and the oil leaks it was £1500 so out of pocket again.
Last week we had a habitation check for our own peace of mind although we were told one had been done but that was obviously untrue as the gas regulator was 9yrs out of date and the whole floor and sides are actually full of damp and in some places completely rotten!
If you are crazy enough to buy from them like us make sure you have any vehicle you buy thoroughly checked independently.
