This company is unable to communicate
The worst conveyancers I have ever used
AVOID!

We were part of a three property chain - all of whom were using JS Law - We thought this would smooth the process but unfortunately did exactly the opposite - We went through 3 separate conveyancers - the main issue seemed to be a lack of hand over details to deal with staff on holiday/illness etc. We were selling an empty property so time wasn't such an issue for us - but the moment we saw there was an additional charge possible for a late exchange and completion we just knew this would be triggered! We had a scheduled completion date of 4/9/26 and could see no reason why exchange could not have been done well before this date - However we still hadn't exchanged until 3/9/26 - as our conveyancer was on holiday (Which we were not notified about) the person picking up her work was not aware they were then responsible - if we hadn't phoned the company despite being on our first holiday for many years to see what the delay was I doubt if we'd have exchanged or completed - we were told that the delay was for the redemption from our mortgage company - we offered to phone them to see what the delay was and were told there had been no request for a redemption the day before completion was due! We got all the details of who to contact and phoned your company again only to find out the person dealing with our case was unaware of this...for both our buyer and for the bottom of the chain this wait must have been very very unsettling - we have bought and sold many houses over the years and by far this was our worst experience - I know our buyers are going to complain to the Ombudsman because they were disgusted with the service - However Tayla when she was there was helpful as was Chloe who helped us get the sale over the line - Following completion we needed the redemption statement for capital gains however this was also a problem several calls later as we were told because completion had occured this could not be added to Eway - One star because we can't leave a half star review

Fab experience with Sarah Russell and then Laura Cameron and JS Law. Our buyer’s solicitors were incredibly slow but Laura and the team chased and gave us almost weekly updates, much of the time via the telephone. It was great to be able to talk to someone who also showed compassion and understanding. The WeWay system makes keeping up with actions and reading and uploading documents so much easier. In all, great service. Would recommend and use again. Thank you!

Josslyn provided timely responses and kept us up to date with the latest. There were some last minute issues that were dealt with promptly - many thanks for helping us with our move.

I have found Luvjit Kaur the best solicitor I have had. She kept us informed and communicated excellently. Even towards the end when we thought the sale would never go through and we began to loose hope she kept a steady and positive head and got us through it So I just wanted to say thank you for everything and would recommend her and JS Law anytime.

Unprofessional company, unfortunately had the unfortunate situation where our buyer was using this company, after vowing to never touch them again when we initially bought the house after a horrendous experience due to a data breach.

Please do not use this company use a local reputable company for your house purchase/sales.

I had a great sale and purchase experience with my solicitor Laura Cameron who took over my file from a previous solicitor who started my sale process. When Laura took over my file there was some confusion with my purchase property and I had to change plots, Laura was very professional in handling the process from start to finish I received regular updates on bot my sale and purchase. The exchange process of my sale was very stressful from my buyer’s end with a possibility of my purchase property going back on the market if we miss the exchange deadline, Laura worked really hard to get the exchange over the line on the deadline date. I cannot recommend Laura enough for her professionalism, dedication, knowledge and drive to get me into my new home…..she gave me a fantastic experience.

Would absolutely recommend JS Law, especially Zoe Mcleavy and Chloe Bromley. They kept us up to date with everything as it was happening, explaining everything in detail and helped make the process as stress free as possible. Fantastic service from start to finish

Very easy from start to finish. The eWay portal was easy to use once I'd got the hang of it and found the 'sale' bit I needed to complete. Tayla Tate, the conveyancer for my late father's probate property sale, was very professional, informed and informative, helpful, and extremely approachable and friendly. I have never done this before and she guided me perfectly. I would definitely recommend JS Law conveyancer's and would use them again myself in future when the time comes.

I used JS Law for the sale of my property and received an amazing service from start to finish. Ruby, the conveyancer handling my case, was absolutely brilliant. She was professional, helpful, responsive, and kept me updated throughout the whole process.

On the whole, whether through written or verbal communication, I received clear instructions explaining any tasks I had to complete. These instructions were further enhanced through the Simplify system and which after a few teething problems, I became accustomed, it proving to be quite simple. Hence the name: Simplify, I suppose.
Other than that, my conveyencer managed to combine a formal professionalism with an informal friendliness. For instance, after communicating about the business in hand, we often indulged in small talk, such as our weekend and holiday plans. This felt that I wasn't just another herd paying client/customer rather an individual person.
One suggestion that might improve the service is to have more communication and information sharing between employees. Sometimes when my conveyancer was on leave, I had difficulty getting questions answered and up to date information supplied. This left me feeling a bit frustrated.
Overall, I found JS Law to be reliable, competent and most importantly, relaxed and friendly, instead of stuffy.

We instructed JS Law on our sale in March and our linked purchase in April. By mid-May I was already chasing for updates and receiving no response.

Our conveyancer received the draft contract documentation for our purchase in May. We were given the impression the matter was progressing. Around a month later, it emerged that she apparently could not access the documents.

Around 23 June, the seller's solicitors supplied an itemised set of approximately 20 documents. For the following five weeks, we were led to believe outstanding actions were on the seller's side. Towards the end of July, after repeated chasing, it emerged that our conveyancer was still "waiting for" documents that had already been supplied in June.

When it became clear the anticipated July completion would not happen, we were told: "I don't work for the developer, I work for you." We were then reassured that completion around 14 August should be achievable. It is now the end of August and we have still not exchanged contracts.

We subsequently discovered fundamental matters relating to the leasehold flat we are selling were still outstanding, including management information required by our buyer's solicitor. When challenged about the delay, the response was that they were "within the timeframe for leasehold flats." The outstanding management documentation is now not expected until late September.

Even identity/signature verification became an ordeal. After questioning whether my signature sufficiently resembled the one in my nine-year-old passport, I supplied additional ID. Weeks later the issue resurfaced despite my repeated attempts to establish whether it had been resolved. At one point the ID team told me my identification had already been signed off months earlier.

Now, at the end of August, further source-of-funds queries are also being raised despite financial information having been supplied months ago. It is extremely difficult to understand why basic compliance matters are apparently still being addressed at this stage of the transaction.

Communication has been appalling. We are not the only people struggling to obtain answers: estate agents, sales progressors and others in the chain have repeatedly tried to contact the firm. Calls and emails frequently require repeated chasing.

We repeatedly asked who was supervising our conveyancer and could not obtain a clear answer. We also had almost no visibility of our own transaction because we were rarely copied into correspondence, making it impossible to see what had been requested, received or remained outstanding.

I submitted a formal complaint approximately a month ago. As of writing this review, I still have not received a substantive response.

The consequences have been enormous. The stress affected my sleep, work and the final weeks before my wedding. I spent what should have been an exciting period worrying that our chain would collapse because basic legal work had apparently not been progressed.

Looking back, I genuinely wish we had paid considerably more for another firm. I would happily have spent an additional £2,000 to avoid this experience.

This no longer feels to me like one unfortunate delay or isolated mistake. Our experience has raised serious concerns about file management, communication, supervision, escalation and accountability. We are now exploring escalation of our complaint outside the firm.

Based on our experience, I cannot recommend JS Law.

Its just so easy on the app, no stress of posting documents or unnecessary phone calls. That said, if you have any queries or are unsure of anything you can email or call. Makes the whole experience just so less stressful. Continually kept me updated so I was never concerned on how everything was progressing

Ruby Allen at JS Law was amazing throughout.
We had a lot of hold up due to land registry but she kept me updated throughout and once she was actually able to handle my case, she got everything done quickly and professionally.
