I would like to thank Gemma and all the staff at Karen Potter estate agents and Karen herself for the outstanding service support and kindness they have shown ,and the hard work trying too sell my property .

I needed to sell my mother's bungalow after she had to go in to a nursing home and I put it on the market with Karen Potter. Our Sales Negotiator Jemma Davies was understanding, knowledgeable, thorough, transparent and professional, she kept me up to date every step of the way and guided both myself and the buyer until the sale was successfully concluded. All in all I received great service and great value for money from them.

Currently looking at purchasing a renovation property, and we couldn't have been happier with the service we have received from Karen Potter Estate Agents. All the staff have been honest and up front on the work that has been required at each property.

I would highly recommend Karen potter and her team, they provided such a seamless positive experience. Communication was consistent throughout the process along with full transparency and any questions I had were addressed immediately.
What really made a difference and truly sets them aside from others is their passion and willingness. I felt they cared about the property just as much as myself.

Me and my boyfriend bought our first property with Karen potter last year and couldn’t recommend them more. When we viewed the house the man that showed us around was lovely and chatted to us about the property, he also let us walk round the property and take our time. They all kept us updated throughout the process and were always very quick to answer all of our many questions. as first time buyers this was very important to us especially being kept updated as it is such a long process. All the staff at Karen potter are extremely helpful and kind and couldn’t recommend this company more.

Terrible experience & over marketing & over pricing of property.

We made a round trip of over 770 miles after seeing a property up north on the market with them and after speaking to 2 members Gemma & Reece in the Karen Potter team over a 10-day period prior to booking our appointment. We were extremely disappointed by what we found and felt there was a lack of honesty and transparency about the property's true condition.
The listing described the property as being "in need of repair and modernisation" with "outstanding potential for improvement." In our opinion, this significantly understated its condition. What we found was not simply a house requiring updating, but what we considered to be an uninhabitable property requiring comprehensive renovation.
During our viewing we observed:
‼️Extensive damp, with what appeared to be an active external drainage leak running down the wall. The leak was still live during our visit, with water visibly escaping and contributing to the damp.
‼️Rotten ceilings that appeared consistent with a roof requiring major attention.
‼️Rotten floors.
‼️Blown double-glazed units throughout, with heavily corroded window frames and handles.

This a just a small selection of things not spoken about honestly. Especially when they know that this property that had clearly been vacant for a considerable period….it looked like many years…

We are experienced renovators, so properties needing work do not put us off. However, there is a significant difference between a house that requires modernisation and one that appears to need extensive structural repairs before it could reasonably be occupied.
What disappointed us most was not the condition of the property itself, but that we had spoken to the office on two occasions before travelling and at no point were we given a realistic picture of what we were about to see. Had the property been described as requiring comprehensive renovation and being unsuitable for immediate occupation, we would never have undertaken a such a long trip.

Interestingly, the viewers before us, who also appeared to be investors, left the property saying, "Get a mask before you go in." That comment alone reflected the condition we encountered.
We left feeling that the marketing material did not fairly represent the true state of the property, resulting in a wasted day, considerable travel costs and complete disappointment.

Karen Potter Estate Agents have many positive reviews, and we can only comment on our own experience. In this instance, we felt that the property description and the conversations we had with the office significantly understated the extent of the work required. We believe estate agents have a responsibility not only to act for their client but also to provide prospective buyers with a fair and accurate representation of a property's condition so they can make informed decisions before travelling to view.

They may have the market share locally but we would never intentionally view a property again with them as they are deemed untrustworthy.

From start to finish great advice throughout and feedback, on viewings, recommendations to increase interest etc….. all backed up with friendly calls and updates on progress . We knew consistently what was happening and that made the process seamless. Best estate agents in the area for us !

Karen Potter estate agents provided an excellent service. The photos that they took were superb. Jemma was so efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. She left nothing to chance and kept me fully informed. She kept on top of everything and everyone.

Jemma was a delight to work with as were her other colleagues but we mostly dealt with her. She was tenacious and kept the momentum going for our purchase. She kept us well informed. Thank you.

The whole team has been involved in the sale of my house, which took almost exactly a year to the day. But Jemma has been above and beyond outstanding. From day one I absolutely felt that she was fully on my team and would do everything she could until my house was sold. There were a couple of breakdowns in the sale and she remained positive, optimistic and determined. She gave me very good advice and support when it was needed and I felt able to be completely honest with her and put my trust in her completely. I cannot stress strongly enough how Jemma made what was a very stressful, sometimes upsetting, exhausting experience just about bearable. Thank you so much.
