Keen is an awesome platform. They consider every concern of the customer and most advisors are reputable. If any are not Keen allows the opportunity to use your funds on a trusted advisor of your choice. Keen is fair and dependable. Try them for yourself you will not be disappointed.

An Honest Advisor’s Review of Keen: Raw Truth from the Inside
I’ve worked as a Keen advisor for several years (Feb 2015). If you’re thinking about joining the platform, here’s a no-fluff breakdown of what’s good, what’s risky, and what every spiritual worker needs to know.

✅ The Pros:
Steady client traffic: Keen brings people to the platform, so you can start earning without having to build your own audience from scratch.

Simple backend: Listings are easy to set up, and toggling your availability is intuitive.

Payout reliability: About 98% of the time, payments have been on time and accurate. It’s rare to find this level of consistency in freelance platforms.

Flexibility: Set your hours, choose your communication method, and adjust your rates as needed.

⚠️ The Cons (a.k.a. the real deal):
Commission drain: Keen takes more than half your earnings—sometimes up to 62%. On every fifth minute, they skim a few extra cents from your rate. It adds up, especially on longer calls.

Invisible tripwires: The AI moderation system is unpredictable. Change your listing photo to something too artistic or outside their norm, and your account could be offline for two weeks or more without warning. They don’t always give clear explanations or fast responses.

Customer service is selective: Unless it’s in Keen’s direct financial interest, don’t expect quick help. You’ll often be met with template responses or vague policy recitations. Keen will respond aggressively to any advisor who dares speak the truth behind the scenes, which is why I was shocked when Keen asked me if I would be willing to submit a review. I checked, Keen was following the rules on polite requests for reviews. I'll be happy to submit email evidence when this gets flagged. My reputation is solid for being anti-lie.

Avoid bulk updates: Never edit all your listings at once. If the algorithm flags you, your entire presence might be pulled. Keeping at least one listing untouched helps you stay live.

Social media trap: Don’t link Keen to your personal socials. Once you do, they seem to monitor your external promotions. If you later try to promote your own services separately—after ever mentioning Keen—you could be seen as violating policy and lose your account.

Search Tool Exclusions: Clients will *think* they are able to filter for price and tool used, but those filters have been disabled. Clients will need to enter your listing name exactly in order to find you in search results. You can mitigate this somewhat by making sure your listing is GSE and SEO compliant, AND bidding the minimum required to be a "featured advisor" - however there is little real proof that the bidding system is really effective for anything other than making sure you are included in some of the searches. (currently min bid is .21 cents).

Surveys with strings: Periodically, they send out advisor “surveys” that seem supportive but are often just data collection to figure out how to extract more productivity from advisors.

A brutal paradox: Keen is a spiritual marketplace fused with raw capitalism. They market it as a sanctuary, but functionally, it's a data-driven revenue machine.

🧘 Final Thoughts:
Keen can absolutely be part of a sustainable income stream if you manage it wisely. Don’t build your entire practice here. Use it as one spoke in your spiritual wheel, not the whole cart. Protect your energy, read the fine print, and always have a backup plan. They’ll sell spirituality with one hand while skimming with the other—but if you’re smart and steady, you can still make it work for you.

I love working on this platform because of the many tools provided that allow me to connect with my customers, such as giving them free minutes.

Their customer service is very attentive and helpful. I have used one advisor in particular for many many years and appreciate her advice and insights.

Keen is the one site that I go to when I need advice and an advisor that can provide that for me on questions that only they can provide the answers to in my opinion and give a direction to me when I am feeling lost. Also, with the other suggestions I have left for you in the past I want to add it would be very helpful to be able to write down the question you want to ask ahead of time before the advisor's page is open during that minute you give while waiting for them to open their page. To have the question already there when they open the page would be very helpful.  Because as we all know time is money. Not all of us can use the advisors that charge larger amounts for their services so I have a select few that I keep on hand that are at the $1.99 rate, and I would love to be able to have my question ready for them before they open their page. Also, each month I feel Keen could extend to all of their customer member's a certain amount of Keen cash to start their month off and also on holiday's would be helpful and very nice of keen to do as well. I have spent a lot of money on this site so it would be nice to have keen give back to its customers with the keen cash it truly would help. One other suggestion I did have it would be nice to also have a facetime option that you could talk directly in real time to the advisor as well. And of course, leaving that up to the advisor to choose to do this facetime option as they choose to have a chat or a phone call. I am thankful to the advisors that they are here for me when I truly need them the most. Also, one other suggestion that I have been thinking about is that if one of your customers does not have the  time to be on an actual call, chat or facetime you could have a pay per email for their questions that they could send to a advisor for a fixed email rate and have them answer there questions that way and be able to review that answers at their leisure when they have the time to read what was sent back to them and have the ability to follow up for free at least one time on the answers they got on anything they may not be clear on a email back to them, and after that one free time is up if more clarity is needed they can follow up with another email or choose another way to follow up that works for them. Just another thought for you to add to your service.  I am thankful for keen for providing this service to the advisors and customers that depend on this site to be here to chat, call, facetime or even email when time does not allow to be on the actual call if you decide to add these to your service, I believe they all would serve your customer's needs. 

From the time I discovered Keen and putting together my profiles I have felt a deep comfort and knowing that I am supposed to be right where I am at. The platform is so user friendly and the two words that are most recognized, Independent Contractor. I had been going through some major changes and due to these changes, I was not able to log in and assist my clients. Thank you Keen for setting healthy boundaries as I with you when adversity hits. Ethical, Professional, Established!

Ive been with them as an advisor for a little while, I can tell you the process to even sign up is easily the most stringent and methodical I have ever experienced.

It's clear they know what they are doing, even if it means they take their time, which is no bad thing, rather than leaping in head first , only to face the consequences of rash, impulsive choices! Theres a reason they have been able to sustain themselves as long as they have, While its still very early days, so far I can say they walk their talk, their support is quick and highly efficient, helpful and above all Ethical! Which matters most to me, when I choose to partner with any platform/ app.
That same Work ethic I see reflected in work practises and customer consideration, in the long run I believe that is what makes Keen stand out above the rest.

The advisors on keen have been my mentors for many years and helped me cope with hard to deal with situations that I wanted to give up on. If not for them I would have thrown in the towel.

The most accurate website and app for psychic readings i always stick to the 4.8 to 5.0 star ratings tho for a good peice of advice I wouldn't go below that. Trust me I have experience!

I believe there are many people on that site who genuinely care about helping people. I never felt as though Keen operated from the energy of being a money-grab business. Keen member since 2001. Extremely happy to see how it keeps getting better and better as the years ago by. Yes inflation has forced us to raise prices 😔. But in comparison to other sites we provide far better value. The experience and kindness is unmatched.
