The locksmith went to my grandparents house. They are both almost 90 years old to get a replacement key for their vehicle. They were charged $420 for a single key but were charged twice on their card. The average price should be at most 200 but the inconvenience of being charged twice I believe this is a form of elder abuse please take caution. Use anybody else their pure crap

Extremely Unprofessional and shifty. They sent out a technician who did do the work (drilling out a closet lock that we lost the key to), and agreed to open 2 safes which were required (1) only a drill to open and (2) he was able to pry open with screwdrivers.
When I called initially to set up the appointment he told me the service fee would only be about $30, then any additional cost of the replacement lock if any.
He did not tell my mother he was going to charge her over $700 extra for opening the safes! He just went ahead and did it. While she appreciates that he did the work, when she asked how much she owed him he told her $975!!
He DID NOT DISCLOSE THIS FEE TO MY ELDERLY MOTHER before doing the work. She asked for an itemized bill and he said that was the company's normal fees - $500 for safes. I got involved and explained that was exorbitant and he should have disclosed this to her before proceeding. After asking for an itemized bill, he then went out to his car and have her a handwritten one from "Locksmith Services" for $880. (Why this and not the original $975? Very sketchy). He was very insistent on getting paid, and so we explained she would not pay that amount and we needed to talk to the company. We agreed that my mother would pay $200, pending resolution of the other charges. He was going to wait in his car while the got sorted out and I told him no, that he should leave. I got a call from some unknown area code then about this issue. I explained what happened and she asked how much we would be willing to pay for the work in the safes (??!). So now we're negotiating? Very very sketchy. Ultimately agreed to $200 (so total of $400). But now I'm worried about (a) my elderly mother having let then into her home and getting a code to the gate community, and (b) her credit card. They said she can pay by Zelle, but this is extremely unprofessional at best, and I feel she might have been forced to pay the amount others weren't in the house here and firmly dealt with him.
BUYER BEWARE.

After showing up late to our appointment, our locksmith Othello said he couldn't remove the broken key from the lock. He said the lock would have to be replaced. Gave us three choices, minimum security, medium security, and high security. Minimum security was the one we selected which he said would be around 375.00 After removing the lock he said he had to take the key back to his office to have the lock made to match our key. Leaving our plant mid morning. Hours later, after not hearing anything and making 4 seperate calls to dispatch informing them that we were closing soon and to please have him call me with an ETA, he finally called me and let me know that he could not match the key and he would give us two new keys. He showed up 30 minutes after closing, installed a lock and then handed me the bill. I was shocked to see a bill for $1109.00
We were charged $375 for the lock, $375 for removing the old lock, $179.00 for labor and $89.00 for the service call.
After calling another locksmith, they came out and told us there was no reason to "drill out" the old lock and that he would have been able to replace the lock with the same key for 1/3 the cost.
Won't be using this service again

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Scammers with no experience and no licensing!!!
Was locked out of my apartment when I called and got told they would send someone to come fix the lock. When the guy arrived he simply looked at the lock and quoted $360 and that he needed to drill through it. Eventually we were able to establish it should not be that expensive and he would do it for $150. The first suspicious thing was he never asked for any form of identification to see if the apartment was really ours.
3 hours later of him drilling and doing what seemed to be messing up the whole door, we asked for his license to do this job to which he started packing up and getting highly defensive. He started stating he did not need a license to perform this work despite what we were reading online about NJ locksmith laws. After questioning his license, he then stated someone else would come to finish as he could not. He kept drilling and making things worse. He left with an absolute state of the lock halfway out all busted up.
Eventually we decided to not continue with their service as the whole thing was suspicious. We called a reputable locksmith who said they would be able to do the job. Within 5 minutes of the proper locksmith arriving he was able to get us in and noted and ridiculed the terrible job that had been.
Because of the damages THIS service worker provided (note no license) we ended up needing to replace extra parts and the total cost came out to $1050. Which is absolutely absurd. Had we not been SCAMMED by this terrible company this whole job should have been only $200-300 as stated by the reputable source.
Another thing to note when I asked the so called ‘locksmith’ for his name he was extremely defensive and asked why I would need it. Eventually only gave me his apparent first name of Sam and refused to give me his last name.
Overall AVOID at all costs. 3 hours wasted and over $1000 spent because they send out rude incompetent workers with no licenses. Utter scam.
I have retained documentation of the expense I incurred and all the added damages this place did to our lock. Before and after pictures can also be provided.

becareful they will lie to you and charge you more the program key service. quoted me$100 and then charged me $500 later

Uhh... sure.

I called them this morning and requested assistance with an office filing cabinet re-key. I was told someone would reach out shortly, which they did - he wanted to come straight here and didn't know anything about what we needed.

When I told him, he promptly told me he didn't do that and got off the phone immediately.

When I called the main number to find out why they said they could do it and then couldn't, the woman promptly hung up on me after confirming they couldn't do it.

It was very poor customer service and not the least bit polite or friendly, accept when they thought they had a potential paying customer.

went to kiosk at Walmart in Macon Ga. put my key in expecting to have a key made right then. Only after completing the order was I told it would be shipped to me. This was 4/8/26, it was shipped 4/10/26 via UPS. Then in Atlanta it was handed off to the USPS with no tracking number. As of today 4/16/26 no key, an can't track it. NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE KEYME.

Called at 940 am to get duplicate key made for my car and was told tech would call to confirm appointment. Finally tech called at 10:12 am to say he would be there “shortly”.
I’m an 85 year old woman on oxygen with two large dogs so I went in my garage to wait for him thinking 20-30 mins. An hour later I called the main number, Diede (?spelling) said she would contact him and let me know. Another 30 mins with no call. Call back again to be told tech not answering her. At roughly 2 hours past the initial call time, tech calls to say he will be there in 30 mins (again). Dealing with both the girl and the tech felt like I was bothering them and that they didn’t care that I’ve been sitting in my garage because he said he would be there shortly- I was only going by what they told me. I thought they both were extremely flippant and definitely didn’t care that my time was being wasted for their lack of communication and professionalism. The tech acted like I should be happy for him to show up whenever. I choose to cancel due to their lack of concern and not trusting him to waste more time sitting around. Based upon the Google reviews (which I cannot access since I canceled service-how convenient) it looks like I dodged a bullet on not getting ripped off on price too.

The key came out nothing like the original. The screen said “don’t worry if there’s extra bumps and doesn’t look like the original! It will still work great”

It doesn’t. Good luck getting a refund the link doesn’t work

The kiosk was very simple and easy to use. Ordered a key and had to cancel ( same day) they were quick to reply and refund my purchase. Would recommend giving them a try.

missed appointment. called to find out problems, ended up talking to India and put on hold multiple times over about half an hour. go local, forget these national franchise guys.

I used one of the kiosks in Walmart to make my key. The price they showed and what they charged was completely different. They did not even make the option I had choosen.

Used on of their Kiosks found in a local Menard's. Made three copies of my house key. Got them home, key doesn't fit. I've been trying to get a refund. Key.me tells me they have refunded my money, but I have not been refunded. I was told by them to ask my bank about it (I used my debit card), and my bank has told me they have not seen any credit come my way from this merchant.

So, I guess I'm just out the money.

Key doesn't even work for 8 bucks I will not recommend.

Recommendations if contacting KeyMe Locksmiths: When contacting KeyMe Locksmiths to obtain access to your car house etc. you will first be placed in contact with a call center of unknown origin (possibly South Asia) if you like supporting local business I recommend only calling if based in any country 3000 miles from the US. After your 3rd callback with no tracking recorded of your previous calls you’ll be notified your very own KeyMe technician is on the way. They will call after a couple of hours and notify you they are “30 minutes away”. At this point I recommend you find a nice woman to settle down with, go after that promotion you’re shooting for, and have 3-4 children. After 20-25 years at your youngest child’s high school graduation you will receive a call from your own personal KeyMe technician who will help you to gain access to your vehicle. If this is is the service you are looking for look no further than KeyMe Locksmiths.

Needed a lock drilled off storage unit. Asked for pricing over phone, the rude representative said the locksmith would give us pricing. Guy shows up in a beat up car looking extremely unprofessional and instead of accessing the lock and giving an estimate, he immediately takes a drill and drills it out. Literally 15 minutes worth of time and they did not have to install a new lock, as we already had one. Proceeds to say it’s $314. We ask why so much and what the breakdown was. He kept saying it’s on the invoice. We asked for invoice multiple times and he said it would be texted. We never got it. Called the office and asked for invoice and why it was $314 and why we were never given an estimate first, she kept saying it included installing a new lock. We PROVIDED our own padlock and we put it on ourselves. She raised our complaint up to corporate and they are just as bad. This company is rude, shady, unprofessional and a rip off.

BEWARE. I called KeyMe for a simple residential lockout. They dispatched "6BWV5 CA Locksmith," who arrived without proper tools and suggested breaking my door. He charged me $584 for a 10-minute job on a standard Kwikset lock—nearly 4x the market rate.
Most disgusting was that he took advantage of the fact that I was stranded with my wife and infant baby to pressure us into this exorbitant price. He failed to provide a legally required written estimate (CA Law § 6980) and even pressured us for a tip after overcharging us by $400. KeyMe claims a "100% Guarantee" but sends predatory, unprofessional contractors to exploit families in distress. Do not use this service.

Called them the dispatcher said it would be 20 minutes and the tech would call me, nobody called so I called back again and the same dispatcher said 10 minutes. Nobody ever called me back. Horrible service.

Yesterday I used this company for a car lockout service. Before the technician arrived, I provided the make and model of my vehicle and was quoted $85. When the technician arrived and unlocked my car, he told me the total was actually $200. When I questioned the price difference, he said it was the company's mistake.

As I began to get my card out, he told me he could not accept card payments and would only take Venmo or Zelle. My phone was at 3%, and he wanted to follow me to the bank to withdraw cash. At that point, the situation began to feel uncomfortable.

I asked if I could speak with a manager to clarify the pricing, and he became aggressive--raising his voice, accusing me of trying to scam him, and even calling me racist. I was alone, and he was standing behind my car, which made the situation feel intimidating.

I told him I had $100 cash. He then said he would call the police. I explained that I was simply trying to understand the price discrepancy. He eventually told me to give him what I had, so I handed him the $100. He did not provide a receipt and left immediately.

By the end of the interaction, I was shaking. I felt uncomfortable, pressured, and spoken to disrespectfully. I would not recommend this company, especially for women who may find themselves alone in a similar situation. I have attempted to contact the company for clarification and have not received a response.
