Needlessly expensive. The locksmith that I thought I was calling looked to be less than 1/4 mile away. I didn't realize i was calling a third party!!!

Went to the machine room get my mail key copied didn’t work at all, scam wouldn’t recommend at all.

6/24/2026 update: The customer service was available to initiate the refund. I appreciate the ease of the whole process for that part. Given the whole purpose is to have a workable key, I can only rate up to 3 stars.

original 1 star: I went to a KeyMe kiosk. The user interface was well done and easy to use. The quality of the one simple house key was poor quality. The kiosk had one job- make a copy of a plain key. It did not work. Currently in the process to see if I can get a refund. Try your local hardware store instead.

Terrible business operating out of Sam’s wholesale Club. I can’t believe the even allow them to put a kiosk in their stores for the members to get ripped off from.
They charged me $243 and never provided me the service or key. When you attempt to call them , you just get a run around saying they will call you back.

Even after showing him the EXACT lock (including brand) I wanted, he installed the wrong lock and refused to make it right. When I protested, he became rude. Finally, he said for an additional $50 he'd get the correct lock from his vehicle and install it. He went to his car and drove away, never to return. A terrible experience.

We used a kiosk and order a key for our 2002 Ford F150. We paid at the kiosk and were given an email confirmation. We recieved an updated email the next day. The key came in about three business days. It works perfectly on the doors and ignition. Thank you.

Nearly $300 to get my keys out of my locked car. Took 45 minutes to come which is not terrible, but my "quote" over the phone was $80. I also did not like how the person who came had an unmarked vehicle. Just ridiculous.

I was charged $675 when I was locked out on my 2nd story deck of townhouse I had lived in for just a few days. I was not given a quote or anything, only told after the fact. He removed the deadbolt lock above the lock, left a mess, didn't clean anything up and THEN gave me his personal cell number so he could help me "off the books" and come back the next day to install a fresh lock. He wanted payment to go to Zelle and (I realized after the fact that) my bank did NOT flag it as a business account. This has been a nightmare. I'm writing BBB. Do not use this company!

Update 6/13/2026 -- after speaking with their customer service, and invoking their money back guarantee, I received a refund of $575. The "partner" they had assigned this to is "ASAP Locksmith" -- they are the company that handled my locksmith request.

Avoid ASAP Locksmith for their questionable & unethical business practices.

KeyMe Locksmiths stood beside their guarantee, but you must ask for it.

I called because I just wanted information on pricing to copy a key I already had for my car. I don’t need a fob, as I have a really old car so I was hoping it would
Be a pretty basic standard call. Instead I could hardly understand the people on the other line, and when I explained my situation they said they couldn’t help because they didn’t understand what I was asking. My car does not use a fob, it’s a standard key, as simple and plain as my house key is. I just need a copy.

When I asked the man I was talking to to repeat himself because he had a heavy accent he accused me of not knowing what I was talking about, and said he couldn’t help someone who didn’t even know what they wanted. Finally he just asked if I wanted the service or not, and when I responded with “can I have some more information about this” he hung up.

And I don’t know if this is a coincidence or not, but since that call I have been-bombarded with spam calls. Prior, I had almost none, and while I don’t want to assume the worst… it’s pretty funny how I never got spam calls, and now suddenly my information is leaked.

Were they the worst? Probably not. But I do not reccomend if you’re looking for someone who can give you clear and honest help.

Yousef was the technician that reached out to me. We set up a time for 6/1 at 10am, I told him that I did not have a lock and that they would need to bring a lock with them for installation. He arrived on time empty handed, was not in a company vehicle, was in a private car. Came in and was shown the door in which I wanted a lock pad (code entry) placed on the door. He left to go and get the lock from the "office" (Not sure if this occurred). Came back, installed lock in place of original lock and took the the door knob. I have to now pull the door open using the pad of the lock to get out of my house. I believe I was grossly overcharged, no invoice provided no receipt provided. And I think my call was intercepted by a scammer and I just got scammed. Will never use Key me locksmiths again and you shouldn't either.

I tried to do the mail order keys. It was supposed to arrive in 3-5 days. They gave me a tracking number that looks like you are on UPS, but if I take that number to the UPS site, they don't recognize it. The tracking on their fake UPS site says my keys were delivered yesterday to a city an hour away from me. There is no way to talk to anyone, it's all automated emails. I would give them zero stars if I could.

Complete Scam.

If I could leave a 0 star review I would. Terrible customer service with dispatch with no clear communication and knowledge. Mia-leading information by the locksmith technician.

Do not use their service.

2014 Toyota Tacoma

Was told a technician would be coming out to program 2 new keys for me. When he arrived he didn't have any keys for the vehicle at all. He made a phone call to a friend and said that 1 of his keys would do the trick. He cut the key and attempted to program the key before ever discussing price. When he was done the key wouldn't work and told me that I had to drive 50 miles for the truck to recognize the key. Then he proceeded to charge me $380 for 1 key that didn't even work. I went through customer service and sent photos of the key and everything they asked. I was just notified that the only options I had was they could send out the technician again to fix the key. Why would I want their tech who was unable to do the job in the first place and lied to my face to come back out and "fix" my key? They refused a refund which in my opinion does not match their 100% satisfaction guarantee. Do not use for any reason. I should have checked here first. Im filing complaints with the BBB and FTC for false advertising.

Scanned a single side of a double sided key only. Wanted to charge me $9 for the wrong key. They were rude and hung up on me at the customer service line. Avoid this horrible service.

I called twice two different operators. They both hung up on me after I asked my question. Talk about rude, and unprofessional. Never calling again. You don’t believe me. Try calling yourself.

The locksmith went to my grandparents house. They are both almost 90 years old to get a replacement key for their vehicle. They were charged $420 for a single key but were charged twice on their card. The average price should be at most 200 but the inconvenience of being charged twice I believe this is a form of elder abuse please take caution. Use anybody else their pure crap
