Absolutely dreadful
Absolutely dreadful. Not once did I use it, until it took £17 out of my account, I cancelled my membership and asked for a refund which they could not offer. Then this month rolls around and a payment for £12 comes out my account from them, my membership was still active?, so i have emailed them asking for a refund.
it impacts ur credit score to cancel a membership. so yeah cheers weirdos. nothing but bad things to say about them, literally just wanted financial help to end up with less money than i started with.

I have used Loqbox on and off for years for saving and now to build my credit and its fantasrtic, have reccommended to many friends in similar situations :)

Wouldn’t recommend at all. Expensive service for no benefit whatsoever. Just put your money into savings or (as they come up as credit) just get a credit card and actually have money to spend and pay back instead of paying out of a service that does nothing and you don’t see a penny of it.

A traditional savings account can help someone put money aside, but it does not usually contribute to their credit history because savings activity is not reported to the credit reference agencies.
Loqbox offers different features depending on what a member wants to achieve. Loqbox Grow is a 0% APR credit facility used to fund Membership and any optional bolt-ons. The credit limit, utilisation and repayment history are reported to the credit reference agencies to help members establish an active credit history. These payments cover the credit-building service and Membership benefits, so they are not held as savings or available to withdraw.
For members who want to put money aside while building their credit history, Loqbox Save allows them to do both at the same time. Save is structured as an interest-free loan, with the monthly repayments reported to the credit reference agencies. Payments made to Loqbox Save, can then be withdrawn as savings.
While our features are designed to support credit building, credit scores are affected by several factors, so a particular increase or timeframe cannot be guaranteed.

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with Loqbox Grow. I made regular payments because I genuinely believed the service would help improve my credit profile and put me in a better financial position.
Instead, I’ve watched money leave my account every month without seeing any meaningful improvement in my credit rating. For someone trying to manage their finances carefully, it’s frustrating to feel like money is simply being taken without seeing a clear benefit in return.
Today, another payment was attempted when I didn’t have enough money available, which has made the situation even more frustrating.
I’ve now decided to close my account. I expected a service designed to help people build their financial future to provide clearer, more tangible value.
I would strongly encourage anyone considering Loqbox Grow to fully understand the costs, how it affects their credit file, and what they are actually getting in return before signing up.

Absolutely terrible service and misold…
Absolutely terrible service and misold the account under the impression it would help to improve my credit score. After discovering my credit score had actually been reduced by around 150 points, I looked into why this had happened considering I haven't taken out any credit and was paying Loqbox to improve my credit score. It turned out Loqbox although it is not a credit service shows up on your credit file as an unsecured loan, even though I have not borrowed money and was only paying into a "savings" account with Loqbox. When the agreement was first set up Loqbox tried to take the initial payment on the wrong date and was missed and this is now on my credit file as missed payments on an unsecured loan with Loqbox (which I've not had). This has resulted in my credit score on file being reduced by 150 points. When you try to close the account it is also not a easy process. Very poor service and make sure you are aware it goes on your credit file as a loan although you are not borrowing anything.

It was really bad
It was really bad. Didn’t get explanations on their bolt on charges and kept getting debited after each month with no benefit or increase whatsoever with my credit score. Even closing the account is a hassle. You have to downgrade, pay charges for services not used and then they will let you close your account.

Bolt-ons are optional features that members can choose to activate. They increase the credit limit available through Loqbox Grow and the amount that can be saved through Loqbox Save, while also providing access to our sister company, Nooli.
Grow works similarly to a credit card. Membership fees and any optional bolt-on charges are added to the Grow balance, which is then repaid monthly. If a balance has already accrued, it remains payable before Grow can be fully closed.
Although Grow is designed to help build a positive credit history through regular repayments and responsible credit use, a specific increase to someone’s credit score cannot be guaranteed, as scores are affected by several factors across their wider credit report.

I will try because I know these things are important.
For people who are struggling to get credit , or have a low credit score then this is a good answer , it gets you started if you follow their rules. You must make all your payments so make sure to take out only what you know you can afford.
