Customer of 5 years and They force you into paying for an extra YEAR after your agreement ends and then add additional fees on. Corrupt, horrid company. SQUARE have more modern equipments, next day payments and cheaper rates.
PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COST!!

This is the worst company you can deal with.Never get in to contact with these horrible people. Their salesman tell you a load of lies and tie you into contacts that you cannot get out of . I was told minimum contact is only 1 1/2 years but find out it was for 2 years but when you try to cancel at the end of 2 years are you automatically get into another 1 year (Not less ) contact so I end up with having 3 years paying them for something I was not using and the worse thing is I went to cancel 2 months before the contract end date now they are saying I have to give them notice 3 months before the end of the contract. YOu can see how terrible these people are , they basically see this machine / and service was never used. This is how they make money. This is against trading standards getting ppl into automatic renewals for 1-year contacts. No not recommend them and their Merchant Rentals other company (Working in the same building acting like they are 2 different but same ppl robbing business )

Absolute disgrace. My business is closing and yet they want me to pay for their embarrassingly bad service for a year beyond this date. Talk about kicking you when you're down !

I have read through lots of reviews below of others having the same experience as we did. Terrible experience after trying to leave after completing a 4 year agreement with Handepay, through small print they demand I pay for another year. It’s a horrible way to do business, I note that you have a stock reply saying it’s made explicitly clear when you sign up. It really wasn’t! The cancellation terms are not 'clearly laid out' as you claim - the text on the 'Key Information' section is so small I struggle to read it. I shall be pursuing with the relevant authorities. It’s not about the money, it’s the principle, you shouldn’t be getting away with this unscrupulous practice.

Absolute crooks ! They signed me into a 12 month contract with out even telling me , paid them £254 to get out of and explained the pin pad that I had been paying for had been stolen in a burglary only to be sent another bill for £354 , absolutely avoid at all costs . !!!

Absolute disgrace. Will never use these crafty unscrupulous co. Again. You should be ashamed of yourselves. . Handepay and merchant rental are the same. You just being smart so as to hand the buck over. People try to play fair offer you what THEY can afford but you will not even do that. You suck. May your business get its karma 🙏

I advised them that my business was going to be sold in a few weeks and they sent me a termination agreement for immediate termination. Very nice lady helpful and quick to reinstate MID as we couldn't take any card payments but terminal still won't work. Tried the advised updates and phoning Spire (give up after 20 minute wait). Does anyone know if this will update overnight or have any advice as to how we can be up and running normally as soon as possible.

I had a machine with Merchant Rentals and owing to bad health had to fold company, told Merchant Rentals in March 2019, they said had to finish contact in DEC 2019, gave them notice in March 2019, they said never had notice, so tried to get further 12months money from me. Ended up in County Court. DO NOT USE THEM UN TRUSTWORTHY

I have been a customer of Merchant Rentals for 4 years I've had no problems with the machine or the company till i enquired about my contract coming to an end and what options are available, only to be told they had signed me into a 1yr deal without my knowledge I have immediately activated my cancelation which i now have to wait 12months, this is a disgrace,

I have been a loyal customer of Merchant Rentals for many years . I can't say I had many problems with the visa machine in that time but I can honestly say that when it comes to customer services and loyalty to their customers, they are the worst company I have ever dealt with . Attempting to end a contract with them is a n ordeal that no-one should be put through, especially a loyal customer. Once given notice they ignore your emails , continue to take money from your bank, ignore your registered letters and when you stop the direct debit they threaten action and begin charging late fees cand interest. Eventually you give up and pay them due to frustration. A truly despicable company which also offered no respite for their customers during lockdown. Despite the fact that our little shop was closed for 7months they continued to charge for a machine which wasn't used. Please read the public reviews about this Haydock company and don't go near them!

Very poor company another one setup to fleece small business owners 12 months notice to cancel a contract or it rolls over is just robbery and this is coming from a company that took its full payment during lockdown when asked for help

If I could give this company Merchant Rentals a 0 then I would. Their customer service is diabolical. When my wedding and events business was suffering due to the pandemic they were most unhelpful. I sent the machine back by recorded delivery explaining I could no longer afford it and that I would pay any payments owing on it when I had the money and business improved again due to the pandemic. Everyone I have spoke to(and there have been many phone calls explaining that I simply didn't have any business) has asked for the machine back despite the company having received it back several months ago. I cancelled the contract and they kept adding money on for charges. Since the pandemic restrictions lifted and despite my business still suffering they have hounded me to death with threatening letters, they don't care about their customers at all. Since the pandemic I have reviewed all my finances and realised that this company is terribly expensive, they don't tell you when they sign you up that you also have to pay World pay charges for each transaction you carry out when your business is going well. I would definitely not recommend this company at all. I have never given a bad review on trustpilot for any company, in fact when I think a company has given good service I usually give them 5 stars and its not something I normally do to give someone a one star but I feel that my review is justified on this occasion.

So having signed up for a period of 4 years, I understood it to be a rolling 30 day contract from then on in, gave the notice to be told it was 90 days cancellation notice and it was all on T&C's, how are people supposed to remember this is no letter is sent confirming this after 4 years, a nudge would have been very helpful. Will I use again? NEVER
