Chipping Norton branch attitude
Chipping Norton branch charges much higher prices than other branches, but what annoyed me is their indifferent attitude towards pricing errors. I purchased 2 items individually marked and coded as half-price, but which went through as full price. The attendant simply referred me to queue at “customer service”, where a gum-chewing teenager shrugged her shoulders and told me to await a “manager”. Some 10 minutes later, he simply refunded the difference and blamed the stickers, with no apology. I contacted Head Office who couldn’t care less. So much for being owned by Members!
Uncaring generally and no response
Still no landline after more than two weeks of calls to Customer Service and Technical Support and many emails to different departments. Many promises of action and finally today (7th March) Openrrach have been asked to call. And contact with someone who admitted they have dealt with this badly. We have very poor mobile signal which often fails and health issues including having to avoid stress. Very sad that what was once The Phone Co-op and a caring community organisation has become a useless one. Example: automated message on their phone line regularly stating, “due to a large volume of calls we have closed our Customer Service so that we can deal with existing customer requests” !!
This used to be such a good company
This used to be such a good company, but is now useless. Phone fault, no service. Very hard to find the contact number on the website, when I do it's closed "due to high volume" of problems they're dealing with, call back IN FOUR DAYS!! Sent email instead, automated response promised reply in 3 days (not holding my breath) and referred me to the above closed number. I shall be changing my provider.

A week without a landline and impossible to contact them by phone. Customer service has been disabled 'due to large volume of calls'!!
Also tried emails to different departments, but no response. Very sad and inconvenient as we need a line due to poor mobile signal here and health issues.
No activation of eSIM after contacting them 5 days ago
Cannot transfer eSIM onto new phone - required calling up to sort. Was sent a new QR code to install on my new phone and was told to email to activate once installed. I did, twice. I've been 5 days with no phone service so far, and today have been on hold for 26 minutes. Online chat says they are offline, despite it being working hours. What a ridiculous system for SIMs!
Your coop broadband experience
Your coop broadband experience
Been a member for many years but has plummeted downhill of late. Trying swap to new provider but they are holding it up by not releasing my phone number for the new provider. Unable to get through after 20m on phone, several times! Told to use on line chat which doesn’t exist on their website. No reply to over 7 emails, appalling customercare. Please avoid, hard to see how they can be ethical.

We recently have had a new manager appointed at my local store Ambleside Drive Worcester.
He is the most lest customer friendly person I’ve seen in the store in the seven years I have been using the store.
No service Now chasing me for payment, I have emailed saying no service, they just ignore
Telephone service, or lack of
I have a landline from Coop normally no problem
Recently thieves stole the cable up the road, this was before Xmas, now repaired . I now have a different number , want old number had for years
Can’t get an answer from the coop
I won't continue with this non-service
I was with the Phone Coop since and of the 90s and couldn't rate them highly enough. I even promoted them at our events. Since going over to Midlands Cooperative it has gone downhill. I have never once had a "sorry" for any issues, I cannot get through to them easily like before. They won't call you back "we don't have that facility" - what, a phone company? I have persevered as I believe in the Coop movement but cannot continue like this. Now the switch-over. My questions unanswered, unusable internet for days. Finally got someone on the phone who asked me to wait and I got cut off. But of course, they don't call me back. I gave one star but that's too much. Sorry MCoop, but you had your chance.
Midcounties Coop Penkridge
A good well stocked convenience store, over priced like many coops but they do have decent members offers.
Majority of staff are helpful and hard working and pleasant to talk to, apart from one miserable woman (G) who is unapproachable, rude and sarcastic and makes it very obvious she doesn't like working there Unfortunately she brings the whole shop down and lowers the standards and certainly puts me and plenty of other customers shopping in their.
What a transformation
I just wanted to write a review to say how much better my experience with Customer service was now, than two years ago. I was dreading phoning as before I had to wait ages to get through and then talk to someone who didnt know how to deal with apple computer settings, then to carry out excruciating complicated processes for each of our accounts. The person I spoke to today was knowledgeable and friendly, he talked me through a few simple steps to get the account going on the laptop and then sent me a link on their website to show how to reset the email account on the mobile. I followed the beautifully clear visual steps showing a screenshot of a phone at every step and it worked first time. Someone must have really worked to simplify this - What a transformation - Thank you

After contacting the coop to enquire as to when my annual vouchers are due to be issued they replied that they have voted against paying this year. This is scandalous as people that have spent the last 12months building up points have had them wiped out. They have also neglected to inform people of their decision.

Bad Website Management
Visited store on recommendation from their website that it would be open, only to have a wasted trip Store was closed for refurbishment. Extremely lazy of Midcounties Co-op in not updating the opening hours on their website. There are so many companies that are losing business because of lack of up-to-date information on their websites, which is shameful as most are directing you to websites as a point of contact. Midcounties Co-op joins my list of companies in which you can have no faith in.
Absolutely hopeless
We had a landline with the Phone Coop which was then taken over by Mid Counties Coop.
That's when the problems started. The line stopped working, the repairs took ages and too much time was wasted on hold when trying to report a fault.
We decided to cancel the contract and went through three months of calls and emails not being answered.
It wasn't until we cancelled the direct debit that we got the first reply from them, an automated message telling us our email was important to them and that they would be in touch. They haven't been.
Great way to destroy a business!
If you are reading this because you are checking them out before signing up with them then please evaluate my comments in conjunction with their incredibly low rating.

Good store
Good store. Good choice. A few mistakes on the loyalty card from coop but it does offer good discounts, I like the medium sized store with fresh produce. Please stop shrink wrapping all the veg. The environmental waste is terrible.
I had a bad fall in co op store
I had a bad fall in the mid counties CO OP ON 18th November , tripped over a lip on a rubber mat inside store. Sustained injuries to my hand and knee which required drs appointment. Manager said he had put in a complaint and would ring me in a couple of days, but am still waiting for a call. Just tried ringing customer Sevices , they hung up on me twice . So don’t know where this accident report has gone. My daughter tried to put in a complaint twice online to no avail as it kept directing her to different sites. I am 80 years old and the shock of the fall and my injuries have really upset me . Don’t know where to turn for help

Address change shambles
My Mother's internet and phone provider is Midcounties and they have been awful during her recent house move. Despite promising to send someone to connect us on the day of the move, no one showed up. 11 days later my Mother is still not connected (apparently they will send a new router in the next few days....). My Mother is over 80 and has Alzheimer's and this has left her without a working phone (for example, if she needed to call an ambulance). We have dealt with several other utilities during this move and all of them are now connected. This is an absolutely terrible level of service and their intransigence in response has been shocking.

They "accidentally" cancelled my business SIM card, a phone number that I have used for my business for 10+ years - they almost lost it. Luckily, they managed to get it back and send it out to me on a new SIM card. It took them 2 months to achieve this, meanwhile they were still charging me the direct debit. Their apology was merely to refund me for the 2 months I had no access to the SIM card. 2 months of lost business, no phone calls. Their "accident" cost me potentially thousands of lost business.
