Awful experience – damaged goods and very little help

I would not recommend MoveDay Removals based on my experience.

The collection took place as arranged, but the delivery was delayed by one day.

On collection day, the driver arrived late, had breakfast after arriving and asked to use the shower at my property. He provided very little practical help with the loading.

Halfway through the loading, he began saying that there might not be enough room in the lorry for my belongings. However, two pallets belonging to another customer were already taking up space in the vehicle. Because space was tight, my furniture and other possessions were piled directly on top of one another without adequate protection. Several items arrived scratched, chipped or torn, including furniture, exercise equipment, a bicycle saddle and wooden surfaces.

The driver also left rubbish at my property. When I asked him to remove it, he asked me to recycle his rubbish myself.

The delivery experience was no better. The driver again provided very little help, claiming that he needed to remain close to the lorry because of the risk of theft. He had the option to park inside the gated area of the property, which would have resolved that concern, but refused to do so.

I had to repeatedly ask him to carry my sofa upstairs to the first floor, and his reaction made it seem as though I was asking for something unreasonable. He also complained that, because I had raised concerns with MoveDay Removals, he might not be paid by the company. Whether true or not, that was inappropriate and put me in an uncomfortable position.

The driver is an essential part of any removal service. In my case, I was extremely unlucky and received someone who appeared unwilling to provide the loading and unloading assistance that MoveDay Removals claimed would be included.

Another major issue was the insurance. I later discovered that a claim required photographs of every individual item fully packed and protected, including all furniture. I had not understood that such detailed photographic evidence would be necessary. Had I known, I would have photographed every item before loading.

Knowing what I know now, I would have hired additional help and chosen a different removal company, even at a higher price. The whole experience was stressful, poorly managed and resulted in damage to my belongings. I will not use MoveDay Removals again.

Beware of this company. They stole many things. I watched one guy tell another guy where to put my Singer sewing machine, into a big box and I never saw it again! I have many things missing and pieces broken off my washer and left on top of my washer. They are just plain dishonest and have lousy people working for them. Now they come back and say I had a certain amount of days to file a loss, but I had so many boxes it took me over a year to sort through. I kept thinking I would find everything.
This is not the actual date of my move because I couldn't go back to 2021. They wouldn't return my calls and the secretary said "Oh, this has never happened before, I'll have to speak to my manager" about 5 times! That was about my broken dryer.

I'm sad they did this to a senior citizen, I'll see what other steps I can take against them too.
They quoted me for an in state move when I was moving from Florida to Georgia also.
They worked so very slowly it was ridiculous. I should have looked into them more before hiring them.
I will swear to this review in court or in front of a Notary.

We have just moved to Spain and after slot of searching settled on move day. We have been treated so well and communication has been great. The team are so helpful and took all the stress out of our move. I would thoroughly recommend them, thank you for all your help, we could not of done it without you.

until you have to pay the deposit they contact you, everything is fine.
(Also the deposit is sent to Agnieska's private account and you do not receive any payment confirmation from them)
After that the stress and problem with contact the company.
Agnieska can give a lot of advice and arrange the documents, but it's difficult to contact her.
The drivers don't speak English, which makes communication very difficult.
the price of removal is nice but the service is not well organised.
If you have lot of patience then I recommend that company.
If you are well organised and want no stres removal then better pay more and have peaceful moving.

I had a really good experience with Moveday Removals. They were able to move my belongings to my new house, and were very quick and efficient in doing so. The workers were really good and effective, and I had no issues with them. For the good-priced service that they provided, and the excellent standards that they held themselves to, I would definitely recommend them!!!!

Really good movers, very professional and friendly. Thought it would take them longer than it did but they clearly know their stuff and had the van packed and off with my stuff in no time, it all got there in one piece

Well what to say about MoveDay removals…..they were recommended to me after I had had eye watering quotes from other companies, all in all a great service for an excellent price.
Agnieszka was fantastic with all the paperwork and explaining exactly how things were going to work.
The guys arrived on time, not one word of English !! A delay before they started packing the vans…. Very long discussion with Agnieszka, heaven knows what about !
I had done all the packing so everything was ready to go, it took ALL day, they did have some dismantling to do so !
At the end of the day everything arrived safely in France from Torquay, NOTHING broken and that’s all you really need, isn’t it? to get your stuff from A to B unscathed and that’s what they did at an excellent price. 👍🏻

Amazing service! Highly recommend! Excellent experience with MoveDay Removals. They have been extremely accommodative in planning my house move at a really short notice.
