I have used my local MPD in Nottingham for many years. When recently visited on Saturday 12th September 2026 to order a battery for a motor bike. I was treated well told not something they stock but will phone there suppliers on Monday to check availability. I said that's fine can you order me one. Come Monday afternoon I hadn't received any cal. So called MPD who had forgotten sorryto enquire. Tuesday came still no call so I called MPD again they informed me of the price I said yes order me one please. Then told its special order payment required that ok I work at the bottom of road were there vans pass and call in asked can they collect the money it's here. Nothing so after work I called in to pay only to be told they only get delivery Monday Wednesday and Friday that's OK would they be alright in dropping it down to me Friday yes sure. Come Friday no delivery to me I called and got told sorry forgot again. So went after work to collect given a dry battery not what I ordered the advisor then gave me attitude I left the store and said I will speak with manager later. The advisor then came to the door squaring up to intimidated, gobbing of iam a humble mechanic aged 62 years I don't need this. I went home only find have put fluid in the battery then wait 20min then charge the new battery so then had to go out again to by a battery charger. My experience with the MPD advisor was unprofessional and I will never us them again

Ste from MPD in Bolton was lovely, he dropped off the parts required and then checked to see if anything needed to be returned before leaving. Can thank him enough for the AMAZING service.

I called into the Motor Parts Direct (MPD) on 2nd September because both indicator bulbs had failed on my Motorhome. I’d tried two other parts companies and neither were able to find me the right bulb.
The team at MOD were brilliant and saved our trip by finding the correct ones.

Same as someone else has commented - one of the drivers has just nearly caused a bad accident on the M6, approx 6:40am this morning, drove across all lanes causing people to slam on so he didn’t smash straight in to them!! Never seen anything like it!! So so dangerous… he’s either drunk or suicidal.. deffo check in with your driver of vehicle DL23 CHF

Absolute shocking company I would avoid at all costs

Wanted oil and filter for 2012 corsa. 4 staff in there, non of them wanted to be there (not rude, just not interested). Had 3 filters, 1 I had heard of, not the other 2. No Bosch, Mann, Mahle etc….

Then wanted £77 plus vat for 5l of 5W-30. My jaw dropped to the floor. That’s more than main dealer prices.

Amazed anyone goes there.

What a shit company. 4 year warranty with a battery and been on 8month and they won’t replace the battery. No help with these what so ever and cause nothing but problems. Joke of a company. I wouldn’t use these

Extortionate prices that are constantly hiked up. Cheaper elsewhere for sure. Also rude management when having to deal with a customer complaint!! Avoid avoid avoid! Take your business elsewhere!

Yesterday I bought a replacement lamp from MPD. It was a Lucas LLB716 also known as H16. The salesperson told me the cost would be surprising. I said about £20 he said no double that. It was actually £33.88 before adding VAT, which made it £40 give or take. Once home I looked for the bulb on line and found prices as little as £7 + post. So where did they get their price from. Yes it was convenient, it was on the shelf but £40!!!! I have bought wiper blades before from this same outlet and have paid too much as well. I won't be going back ever again.

Their accounts department are completely inadequate and unfit to run accounts. Account is put on stop, yet the account is in credit, I ask why, the woman hangs up the phone. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL and incapable of building B2B relationships, they operate in a vacuum, where they dont even contact their customers to alert them of any issues. They dont send statements to customers, no communication, they just put the account on stop even if its an internal fault of their own systems. I call their accounts department, the staff there are very rude. ITS SIMPLE, WE JUST TAKE THE BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.

I’m extremely disappointed with the service we received from Motor Parts Direct. We were regular customers and had been purchasing car parts from them for quite some time, but this experience has completely changed our view.
We returned a part that didn’t fit our car and were told we would receive a refund. After waiting several weeks and hearing nothing, we contacted them to follow it up. To our surprise, they claimed the money had already been used as credit towards other purchases.
This simply isn’t true. We checked our CCTV footage and confirmed that every order we placed after that return was paid for in cash on delivery. We even offered for them to come and review the footage themselves as proof, but they showed no interest whatsoever in resolving the issue.
It’s incredibly frustrating to be dismissed like this, especially as loyal customers. We are still owed £90, and the lack of accountability or willingness to investigate properly is unacceptable.
Needless to say, we will not be using them again.

Im absolutely appalled of what moto parts direct have done has a company to avoid paying the increased national minimum wage they have cut the drivers hours to avoid paying the extra money but in doing so have actually cut they wage by nearly £900 a year this is ridiculous considering the drivers/counter staff are the driving force behind the companies success and further to say the drivers are the face of the company in a massive aspect as they are the one that see and speak to consumers everyday and keep the business afloat

I've used Motor Parts Direct on few occasions now, Barnsley branch Dodworth.
I can honestly say, the prices for parts are better than I've found anywhere.
Customer service is fantastic, always happy and help with advise where possible.
Keep up the good work, much appreciated 👏

I visited the Norwich depot to get a price on a battery for my insignia and wiper blades. I was greeted by a girl swearing on the phone at a customer about a payment and a bloke on the phone moaning about customers and how bad his drivers are. After being ignored for a while a bloke appeared to my right who quoted on parts. £35 more than ecp!! What an unprofessional shambles!!

I’ve had a really poor experience with Motor Parts Direct. Staff were unhelpful and seemed uninterested in resolving issues, with very little product knowledge or urgency. Communication was poor, and I was left chasing for answers rather than being supported as a customer.

Parts availability and accuracy were also an issue, which wasted time and caused unnecessary delays. For a company that supplies essential motor parts, reliability and customer service should be a priority — unfortunately, that wasn’t my experience at all.

I won’t be using Motor Parts Direct again and wouldn’t recommend them based on the level of service I received.

Corby store closes at 17:30 and I arrived at 17:35 from work and really needed a new battery. The last salesman in then was more than happy to help me and stayed a little longer. Truly grateful for the help and excellent service! Well played 👏🏾

All parts available on the shelf. Very friendly staff, will come back again.
