We've been continuously hosted with Mythic since April 2006 on their colocated Mac Mini service. Their provision of service has been exemplary for the duration, and their technical support extremely knowledgeable and helpful on the rare occasions we've needed to use it. Couldn't be happier!

I've been with Mythic since they acquired Black Cat networks, which a friend ran. I'd had one hosting provider before who weren't that clueful. Apparently M-B had had similar experiences themselves which is why they set up their operation! I use them for my domain name registrations and have a hosting account with them with SSH access which I use for my email and half a dozen websites I run. I use their DNS API to do dynamic DNS for a couple of sub-domains, running the scripts they helpfully provide on my local machines. I've also paid them extra to upgrade and configure mediawiki for one of my sites, which turned out to be money well spent as it was beyond my technical capabilities.

Niggles:
I think the interface on their control panel could be clearer and easier to navigate; by their standards, and (I guess) that of their typical user, I'm relatively clueless and, not having a clear understanding of how everything hangs together, I don't always know what parameters I need to set to make things work properly. The truly naive user is clearly not MB's target audience and I suspect they're happy to leave that market sector to others but they could probably lower the technical bar of their UI for users a bit (and to be fair have improved it over the years).

Support:
Technical support, when needed, has always been prompt, friendly, and highly clueful.

Wishlist:
Web access logs online, or instructions on how to set them up.

Verdict:
Nice people running a great service at reasonable prices.

I've had a hosting and SSH account with Mythic Beasts for just over eight years. I was attracted by prices that fairly reflected of the cost of providing the service. You can do a lot on their hosting LAMP server -- for my purposes it's close to having my own managed VPS at a fraction of the cost. Support is also excellent: highly technically capable, friendly, and fast (most recent ticket was solved in <90 minutes).

I have been a customer of Mythic for over two decades. They have never failed to provide the best of customer service, advice and help during this time (despite presenting them with near-impossible requests!) , and I would heartily recommend them.

I've been using them for a while and I'm a very happy customer. The company is run by techies who know their stuff. A no BS company that delivers a great and reliable service. I really like how they push IPv6 and offers like their Rasperry PI hosting and DNS API. Keep doing what you're doing!

We have used The Beasts for both Business and Personal hosting for a dozen years now. It has always been a consistently reliable service. We rarely need to contact them, but whenever we do the response is prompt, helpful and reassuringly competent.

A good solid and reliable VPS solution.
Even at the lower tiers of their products - I have had great uptime and connectivity, along with control over almost all aspects of the service (reverse DNS, etc.)
Reasonably priced and have received upgrades and updates to the service over the years to bring it in line with, or better than, their current offerings at the same price point. No hesitation in recommending.

Our design consultancy transferred our domain name portfolio to Mythic Beasts last year. The transfer process was straightforward and painless.

Early on we needed support once or twice to setup administration options. Their help was been quick, accurate and successful.

Since then, their domain management services have just worked.

I have used Mythic Beasts for hosting my websites for six years and I couldn't recommend them more highly. They always respond quickly to and resolve any issues or questions I have, and the prices are very reasonable.

These fantastic creatures offer the very best web+email hosting that human money can buy. I am so glad the SysAdmin of my university recommended them to me back in 2006 back when they were called Black Cat Networks, a local firm based in Cambridge, run by IT ninjas that he knew personally. Why pay some faceless megacorp full of mindless droids when you can have actual experts on your team who know the internet better than Tim Berners-Lee?

They changed name to Mythic Beasts and continued to excel with seamless server upgrades and improvements. The service is always faultless, with friendly email replies to my dumbest questions, sometimes even on Christmas Eve within minutes of my sending. It's great to know that there's always a magical monster on hand to respond and walk me through any complex dark tunnels of twisty interweb passages I become lost in.

Over the years they have refined the Customer Control Panel so that now most things are easily doable for even a fairly basic user like me. All of my websites and some of my friends' are now similarly mythical in status.

I've used Mythic Beasts for many years - sometimes just for domain/DNS hosting, sometimes for web and email hosting too.

Their online control panels are excellent, making it very easy to order services and configure or change them later. However, what really sets them apart is their support. On the few occasions I've had to use this, I've got quick help from someone technical who really knew what they were talking about and was able to resolve the issue without first escalating it up multiple tiers of support personnel!

Mythic Beasts set the standard for customer service very high, I wish every company I dealt with was as reliable and trustworthy.
I am a technical person and so enjoy the detail that they include in their updates and blog entries but you definitely don't need to understand it all in order to get the benefit of it - and they have a deserved reputation of being very helpful to all users.
A perfect example of how good they are was when they recently increased the spec of their VPS offerings and retrospectively increased the spec of my VPS without prompting.
I have moved everything, hosting, email and DNS to Mythic Beasts now.

We originally picked Mythic Beasts to provide basic hosting, on the strength of a number of personal recommendations. We still have that hosting but since then they've provided a number of other services as well, including literal field deployment of internet access. Every time I've needed to ask support something the responses have been quick and helpful.

My company has been using Mythic Beasts since 2006 for hosting and operating system support. It's fair to say they've been a key part of our success. We started small (just a single Mac Mini originally!) and now have around 40 servers with them. As we've grown they've proven their worth time and time again. The Mythic team are industry experts and when it comes to networking and Linux I've never felt a need to look anywhere else for advice. A fantastic group of people who will feel like an extension of your own business - highly recommended.

I moved to Mythic Beasts just over two years ago now when Gradwell got out of the hosting business. The orignal move from Gradwell was not good, and even before I became a customer they were helping me unwinded the damage from the intermediate organisation.

Since then they have been exceptional - practically invisible, which is what you want. I've had two queries to the helpdesk (maximum email size, and acquiring another domain for which I needed to fulfil some prerequisites). Both were answered very quickly and accurately.

They are very good value for money - £2 per month for all the email I could ever need which is what I want.

I’m no web expert, so I’ve gotten a few things wrong while migrating and setting up. As well as fixing my errors they’re kind enough to explain what I did wrong — FANTASTIC!!

I have been with Mythic Beasts for my personal hosting since they took over the service I had previously used more than a decade ago. Today I also host services for a couple of small businesses with them. I have always found them to be helpful and technically they do know their stuff.
