Booked in for MOT today. Receptionist was aware , hospitality was excellent, informed of drinks if wish from machine , very good communication even while serving other customers. Chatted about the weather as it was 34c outside and nice and cool due to air-conditioning.
Once MOT was completed the Technician had time to talk over the advisory etc . Which was helpful.oh the vehicle Passed by the way ...very happy 😊

I have been a customer of this particular branch for over twenty years but I will not be returning. The manager sets the tone for the branch, which is that customers are at best a nuisance, the company’s stated price match policy might as well be written on the Rosetta Stone (Trading Standards may beg to differ), and taking responsibility for their actions is anathema, as the customer is always wrong.

The branch and manager have been going downhill for a number of years now but my last visit nailed the coffin shut.

Following an MOT identifying a cut in a tyre (Michelin Pilot Sport 4) I took the car to the branch to arrange for the tyre to be replaced under the insurance policy I had taken out when the last set of tyres were fitted. When I went in I had a print out showing the details of the tyres to be replaced, which I showed to the person serving me. He had difficulty finding the tyre in the system but eventually said he had and the car was booked in for the tyre to be fitted.

He then asked the manager to confirm the insurance discount based on tyre wear as he was having difficulty confirming it on the system. The manager brushed him off and told him to find it himself, leading to further unnecessary delays - Remember, as a customer, your time is not valuable.

I returned later in the afternoon to arrange for the other rear tyre to be fitted. Now I was dealing directly with the manager. He found the booking that had been made in the morning. I showed him the printout confirming the make and model of tyre to be replaced under the insurance policy. At which point I found out that the tyre was not actually being replaced like for like as the person I had dealt with in the morning had indicated. I was then handed back to that individual to complete the booking. We had a discussion about the load rating of the tyre Pilot Sport 4 98y v 101y. In the end I agreed to the Pilot Sport 4 98Y being fitted (even though the 101y could have been sourced by the branch for a like for like replacement). I then asked if the price quoted could be price matched under their price match policy. I was told only the manager could do this. The chap went off.

I was left standing for at least ten minutes whilst the manager was off having a bit of a chat in the workshop. Eventually I caught his eye and he rather reluctantly came over. I asked about the price match guarantee. He said I can price match but only against Halfords ie the same group of companies - Not what the policy says so I showed him the price match policy on the company website. He read it, or pretended to, doubled down on his left pocket, right pocket price match policy “interpretation” and then pointed out the tyre price I had shown him was for Pilot Sport 4 tyres and what had been ordered was Pilot Sport 4s. I pointed out this was both news to me and incorrect.

The manager then told me well it’s your fault you ordered them! His employee ordered them, based on a print out confirming the tyre make I had taken the trouble to print and give to them both. The manager reviewed the order and did not identify the error… It went downhill from there and so after 30 + minutes of passive aggressive ineptitude from the manager I left.

I will be avoiding this place like the plague. I would advise you to do the same unless you enjoy being treated like the proverbial and ripped off at the same time.

Had the car in for service and MOT, really great service, all within time frames discussed and really friendly staff. Would definitely recommend

I booked my mot online which was easy and reasonably priced. I was sent a reminder the day before the mot. I got my car to the garage by 8:15am and received a phone call to say it had passed the mot and they asked if I wanted an additional job doing which I agreed to I had an email within the next 2 hours to collect the car. I was very impressed to be honest. Thanks for your hard work. I highly recommend this garage.

I am extremely disappointed with the service received from National. I booked and paid online for an appointment, receiving both text and email confirmations.

However, upon arrival at the scheduled time, the branch was entirely closed for refurbishment and is set to remain shut for weeks. It is completely unacceptable that the booking system allows customers to schedule and pay for services at a location the company knows is closed.

This oversight has resulted in a complete waste of my time, and my vehicle remains unfixed. Taking payment under these circumstances is highly unprofessional.

Cancelled on me twice. Booked Wednesday 17th for Friday 19th June 2026. Told the day before that my tyres weren’t in stock and were going to use alternative tyres at no extra cost (rovelo - road x). This was booked in for today (Saturday 20th June). Stayed in this the morning to be emailed that they wouldn’t be able to fit until the 23rd June because of a delivery issue - nothing like letting you know at the last minute. Told me I could take it to a garage to get them fitted instead of at home for 2 days ahead, not good enough when it’s been switched twice on me, last minute with no alternative options offered. Ended up having to cancel my plans yet again with friends and family. Not happy.

Now Halfords AutoCentre. Very helpful and a fast service on a tire change.

This branch did the mot on my car on 28/03/26, 3 days later the exhaust back box fell off, 30 miles further along the road the vehicle broke down with a prop shaft bearing fault, spoke with the branch manager who offered to put the vehicle right but head office which is Halfords refused to do this, I then got DVSA to inspect the vehicle, it failed on 12 things, 2 dangerous and 7 majors, DVSA are prosecuting them, after several communications with head office I emailed the CEO Henry Birch who replied saying he’d get one of his executives to deal with this, 2 months on and they have said they won’t do anything leaving me to instruct a solicitor to take legal action. This vehicle had done 51 miles from the MOT up to when DVSA inspected it, people could have lost their lives in this car…..

The staff are always so helpful no matter the issue big or small, especially for someone who isnt so knowledgeable with cars. I can always trust its going to be great service! My go to place!

I ordered tyres for mobile fitting and, despite National Tyres having my order for four days, they cancelled at the last minute.

After waiting 17 minutes to get through to customer service, I was told I could instead take the car to a branch for fitting. Unfortunately, I had a major puncture and specifically booked mobile fitting because the vehicle wasn't really drivable. I was willing to compromise by jacking the car up, removing the wheel and taking it to a nearby garage myself.

After rearranging my week to make this work, I was then told at the last minute that this wasn't an option either.

At that point I cancelled the order because I no longer had confidence that the tyres were actually available or that a fitter would turn up. One of the advisors explained that they use outsourced mobile fitters, which may explain the issue.

My advice would be that if you live outside a major city, or if you need tyres fitted urgently, think carefully before relying on their mobile fitting service. I've used National Tyres successfully in the past, which makes this experience even more disappointing, but the lack of communication, repeated last minute changes and customer service wait times of up to 20 minutes were extremely frustrating.

Fantastic customer service from Neil, who ordered my tyres promptly, through to Matthew who fitted them. Both chaps were so helpful and provided fast efficient service with due care and attention. I will be back for my rear tyres when they are due! Thank you.

I’m a delivery driver and I am in the Haddington branch fairly regularly.
I receive nothing but respect and friendly banter from all the guy’s.
They seem a happy helpful bunch maybe because the manager Scott is very helpful and leads by example.

National Tyres were very helpful. My insurance auto protect was the issue. Nether the less the staff at national tyres continued to chase for a reply for 2 hours and were very informative at each step. I actually feel sorry for these guys having to deal with such incompetent insurances. I would highly recommend.

Khiam and Shabaz did an amazing job and were extremely efficient and thorough. we will absolutely be using them again. highly recommend.

NATIONAL TYRES BRISTOL.Iam extremely disappointed with the service I received.
I took my 2014 Mercedes-Benz B-Class to this garage for a full service and to have the front right lower suspension wishbone arm replaced. Before the work was carried out, the car was not making any noises when turning left or right.
After collecting the vehicle, I immediately noticed a noise when turning. I returned to the garage and was told the problem was not related to their work and that I needed to replace the front right and left stabiliser links. Trusting their advice, I paid for this additional work to be done.
Unfortunately, even after replacing both stabiliser links, the exact same noise remained. I was then told that everything was fine and that there was nothing wrong with the car, despite the fact that the issue only started after their original repair.I have now spent close to £1,000 and the problem remains unresolved. Instead of properly diagnosing the fault, I feel I have been encouraged to spend more money on parts and repairs that have not fixed the issue. The lack of accountability, poor diagnosis, and unwillingness to investigate the problem properly has left me with very little confidence in this garage.
I would not recommend this garage based on my experience and would advise others to seek a second opinion before agreeing to additional repairs.

Took my partners car here for 2 new tyres a few weeks back, had prebooked the fitting online. The guys super helpful, and even fitted a new rear bulb for us as hadn't realised it was out. Excellent friendly service! Great prices! Highly recommended

I had an 11am appointment, when I arrived the staff said that was just a drop off time, it could be up to two hours, leave the car, go away and we will call you.This was not feasible so I waited more than 1.5 hours, they took in every other car before me although they were aware I was waiting.they were rude and unhelpful, possibly because I am elderly and female so I was put at the back of the queue.Not a good experience. Avoid
