This class was worth every cent. I am (or will be next month) an AMG from one of the “top 40” ranked US med schools. I took CS the first time and failed. I was blind-sided! There is a formula to passing this exam that my school did not teach me. That said, I’m not a big “people person” and matched into Pathology. There are specific things you need to hit on during these patient encounters, and like all standardized tests, these things don’t have any real bearing in real life. NYCSprep teaches you these things and also has you practice under real testing conditions with standardized patients, timers, rooms etc. I would absolutely recommend this to someone struggling with CS.

NYCSPREP is the best course you can take to ace your usmle step2 cs. Dr.Somas and his team is amazing.I passed my usmle Cs exam under his expert guidance.

Dr. Somas and the team, I hope you remember me. I was a very nervous student from Japan and bothered you a lot with many dum questions. However, Dr. Somas and his team kindly supported me all the time and made me confident in the real exam.

I took the course in November during my school vacation, practice at the center for 2 weeks in February, and took the exam in LA in the beginning of this March.

The time I spent here was so precious; practice with great doctors and students from all over the world(some are still keeping touch!), continuous support from Dr. Somas (especially in patient notes), and helpful SPs (I happened to upset some SPs because I was stressed out but they kept nice to me. Thank you, I didn't mess up in the real exam, haha).

Daily life in NYCSPREP can be like
Monday-Friday
9:00-19:00 practice with friends at the center (use FA or Kaplan)
18:00-20:00 Patient Note review with Dr. Somas if you want and he is available.
Saturday and Sunday
Rest or mock exams

Sounds good? Yes! This center is a perfect place to prepare CS. The one thing you would concern is accommodation. I used Airbnb, $ 70 /day in Harlem. It was great and safe. You may find more cheaper place. Worth staying as long as possible.

The best course you can make. I didn’t have any experience here in the USA and I was very insecure. Doctor Somas will seat with you and tell you what you’re doing wrong,where you should focus. The mock helps you a lot . I haven’t got the result yet but I went there and everything felt so easy. Highly recommend!!!

NYCSPrep gave a sufficient overview of the CS exam. The doctor in charge was highly knowledgeable and it’s a great place to meet more study partners and practice the actual maneuvers necessary for the exam. I felt that my notes also improved. Lastly the mock patients were extremely professional actors that mirrored the actual exam well. Thank you NYCSPrep!

NYCS prep teaches you what you need to know to pass the step 2 CS in a conducive environment.

Excellent course focused on providing you with the knowledge you need to pass Step2 CS, including taking a focused history, performing great PE, writing notes and interacting with SP in meaningful, effective manner. Dr. Somas and his team of SPs will give you all feedbacks you need to build confidence and be ready for the real test. Particularly useful for IMGs. Plus you have unlimited access to the facility to practice with other students anytime you want. Great value for the money. I passed CS on the first attempt and felt very confident on the test date. It is very good experience.
It helps to much at the exame beside it corects your mistakes and make you are able to write the notes, take history and do the proper exam in a proper time.

Being an IMG, facing CS exam was very stressful for me. After joining NYCS prep, I received valuable guidance/ experience from the clinical encounters with Dr. Somas (some even case-to-case basis), and kept working on my weak areas, practiced cases with other students as well and in the end, felt more confident, especially with their mock exams (I received many valuable suggestions/inputs from the mock test patients as well, which boosted my confidence big time!). The coaching very helped me with the CIS & ICE components. I cleared the exam in my 1st attempt from Philly! Many thanks to NYCS prep!

Definitely great preparation for Step CS preparation with intense 2d simulation of exam day. Actor patients are good models and play tough and Dr Somas is great in explaining everything. Prepares for the stress of the day specially for IMG who are not used to actors playing patients.

Good course to take for the step 2 CS, Dr Somas is a good teacher,very patient and allows you to move on your pace. He teaches how to perform physical exam, and write a good patient note. You also have opportunity to go to the center which is exam like setting and practice until you feel confident and ready to take the test. You will improve your English, patient notes, CIS. Dr Somas also checks the notes as you move, teaches you the best techniques to have a good patient notes. I felt very confident and comfortable during my test after having the opportunity to study at NYCSPREP

I attended NYCSPREP courses last year. The course is well organized and will get you ready for passing step 2 CS comfortably. Big plus is the opportunity to attend the centre during weekdays and train together with other students. Thanks again to the staff for their help and support.

This course was tremendously helpful in preparing me for Step 2 CS!! Dr. Somas is the man!! He knows all the key points and is very passionate about what he does. I passed with flying colors and highly recommend this course to anyone who feels skeptical about their patient encounter and/or note writing skills. Money well spent!

I passed my exam, although the teacher treated most the students as if they were children, which was a little frustrating for those over 30. Also, he did loose his patience a few times when teaching, but he prepared you very well and gave you a overall good foundation.
