Disappointing pre-travel experience with Ocean Florida

We have an upcoming family holiday booked through Ocean Florida and have become increasingly frustrated with the flight ticketing and communication process.

Our original booking confirmation states that our flight reference would be available no later than 12 weeks before departure and specifically says: “This is when you can pre-book services such as seats and meal requests.”

We are now within that 12-week period. However, eight members of our family group are unable to select their seats.

We were subsequently told that tickets could be issued from 7 weeks before departure. We then received another response stating that passenger details may not be finalised, or tickets issued, until approximately 6 weeks before departure.

This is particularly concerning when travelling as a large family group, as waiting another 5–6 weeks potentially reduces our chances of finding seats together.

We asked Ocean Florida to clarify why the original documentation says seats can be pre-booked at 12 weeks, whether the later ticketing restriction comes from British Airways, Ocean Florida or their flight supplier, and why the tickets cannot be issued now.

We formally raised this as a complaint on Monday and asked for a complaint reference and explanation. At the time of writing, we have not received an acknowledgement of the formal complaint.

I will update this review when Ocean Florida responds and, hopefully, resolves the issue.

I hadn’t heard of Ocean Florida before booking and was not sure but once I did my research I was encouraged. I am glad I booked with this company as I received excellent customer service. Clear and regular communication with all queries answered promptly, even during my holiday. Quality accommodation along with a few added extras such as free tickets to certain attractions such as Gatorland.

Just wanted to drop you an email to say thankyou for your help with our holiday (2 years in the making haha) but we got there, had a great time and we returned last Thursday- exhausted but with memories that will last a life time.
Everything went smoothly from airport,  transfers, hotel and park tickets all thanks to Ocean Holiday being organised and straight forward to access.
The hubby says we are having a break from Disney for a few years but theres other parts of the USA that need exploring 😀

From our very first enquiry through to the end of our holiday, the customer service we received from Ocean Florida was absolutely outstanding.

Danny, who handled our original booking requests, was professional, patient and incredibly helpful. There were a number of options to consider, and he took the time to explain everything clearly and help us understand what would work best for us. His calm and knowledgeable approach made the whole booking process so much easier.

However, it was Lili who truly went above and beyond when our Virgin flights were cancelled with just three hours’ notice. What could have been an incredibly stressful and overwhelming situation was made so much more manageable thanks to her support. Lili contacted Virgin on multiple occasions to help rearrange our flights, pre-booked our seats, extended our villa accommodation and, perhaps most importantly, kept in regular contact with us throughout the whole ordeal.

Having worked in a customer service environment for much of my own career, I know just how valuable genuinely personal service can be, and sadly, it often feels like that level of care is becoming increasingly rare these days. Thankfully, that certainly isn’t the case with Ocean Florida.

The support, patience and genuine care shown by both Danny and Lili made a real difference to us and our family. They turned what could have been a very difficult experience into something far more manageable, and we honestly cannot thank them enough.

I cannot recommend Ocean Florida highly enough. Exceptional service from start to finish, and we will most definitely be booking with them again.

I would absolutely recommend Ocean Florida Holidays. We booked a 2 week holiday to do 1 week in Disney and 1 week at Universal in Florida. The gave us different quotes, different options and stayed within our budget. We never ever felt pressured into anything, there was no hard sell. When we booked it was so simple, everything discussed verbally was also out in emails , so no surprises. Nothing was ever to much trouble for them, they always responded to queries quickly. We also upgraded our flights through them and again that was done quickly and with no hassle. The online access to your documents are great and nothing gets deleted, any changes are shown with a new pdf and date. Every member of staff we spoke to or emailed was amazing , very helpful and they really did put together a fabulous holiday for us. We probably could have done it ourselves , booking individually, but to have them do it took away any stress as it was all in the one place and gave peace of mind. It's a great way to book a hassle free holiday. Special thanks to Cameron who was amazing!

I was dubious about booking with Oceans Florida because I’ve heard so many negative reviews but I did in fact booked two years ago and they were always making sure I was okay is everything up to scratch and with Aer Lingus pulling out of long haul at Manchester Airport they was made sure I could get from Manchester to Orlando they was on the ball with everything. I would definitely book with them again.

Kate went above and beyond to help with making changes to our existing booking, answering any questions and giving us different options. She was super helpful and quick at responding! I can’t recommend Ocean Florida enough. This will be our third holiday with them.

The booking process was smooth and easy, no question was too small to ask. Added extras on and upgraded flights and the whole process was seamless. Easy to use website and account to make payments. Graham was professional and polite and there were no pressure selling tactics. We had a great holiday and Ocean Florida made the process simple!

Excellent company. Booked our holiday of a lifetime to Disney Florida with Ocean Florida and they made everything so easy. We booked 2 years in advance and I felt updated and reassured all the way through. We are booking again in a few years and will be using the company again.

We had the best experience with Ocean Florida from start to finish. I can’t recommend Tom West highly enough, he listened to our needs and preferences and came up with tailored options that suited our budget. The holiday itself was 10 nights at Disney World and 4 nights in a beach hotel on Treasure Island with car hire and flying out of a different airport to the one we arrived. Tom took care of everything and we had a fantastic trip that suited our family of 4 really well. Going with Ocean Florida was much easier than self-booking and was a really great price. I would totally recommend them to anyone looking to make the most of a family trip to Florida.

This was our first time using Ocean Florida for our Disney trip and I could not have been more impressed, despite being concerned I had not heard of them before.
We stayed at Universal Portofino for 5 days and then transferred over to Old Key West for a further 12 days and flew from Manchester with Virgin.

Darren helped us get a better price against the other leading agents and the pre holiday payments was easy using their online account. The online system is great so you can view all the relevant documents without having to consistently search your inbox!

In usual fashion, Virgin amended the flights however this was communicated to us from the off and everything was all all good with pre selected seats.

They pre booked our transfers with a third party from MCI to the resorts and back and we had WhatsApp messages prior from the drivers to keep us updated which again takes away the stress from minute one.

Overall massively impressed and would 100% look to use Ocean for any of our future trips.

We booked our first holiday to Florida with a cruise through Ocean Florida. From the beginning it has been seamless! So easy to book especially for first timers. We then decided to change our accommodation to stay in disney instead of outside due to personal preference with young children and the service I received from Katieann was incredible. I had a million questions which Katieann was always happy to answer and offer advice on what would suit our family. When you are spending a lot of money on a holiday of this kind it is so reassuring to have people who really know what they are talking about. Would definitely recommend Ocean Florida and Katieann!

I would highly recommend Ocean Florida to organise your Orlando visit. I was ready to give up on a Florida trip, having never been before it was all overwhelming and costs were insane. I tried Ocean Florida as a last chance and will be going back to them in the future - Neil and Lili in particular were amazing. They calmed all my nerves, got us the best deals for flights and accommodations based on our budget, sorted everything for us and it just made everything so smooth and took all the stress away. I would highly recommend this company, and will be using them again in the future!

We had our dream holiday booked to Orlando for three years. My partner had a heart attack recently. We’ve had to adapt our holiday. I cannot commend the staff, in particular Kate Wilkinson, who bent over backwards to still make our holiday happen. I cannot thank Ocean Holiday staff enough.

We booked our Florida holiday through an independent travel agent in April 2025 who used oceans Florida as a 3rd party, for a holiday in July 2026. Unfortunately, our experience with Oceans Florida has been very disappointing, particularly when it comes to communication and customer service.
Our flights were originally booked as direct flights from Manchester to Orlando. In January 2026, the airline changed these to indirect flights, leaving us with a five-hour layover in Dublin with four small children.
We completely understand that flight changes can sometimes be outside the control of the holiday company. However, our main frustration was the lack of information and support we received from Oceans Florida regarding what they had actually done to help. We were given very little information about whether they had attempted to find alternative direct flights with another airline, or whether they had formally contacted the airline to raise a complaint or try to resolve the situation on our behalf.
Our independent travel agent made several attempts to obtain this information and to get Oceans Florida to assist, but communication was extremely poor. We were never given sufficient detail or evidence of what action had actually been taken. This ultimately left us unable to raise a case with the Travel Ombudsman, as we did not have the necessary information regarding what had been done to try to resolve the issue with the airline in the first place.
Then, approximately six weeks before our holiday, our villa was changed to an alternative property without any prior warning or meaningful explanation. Again, we appreciate that circumstances can sometimes require accommodation changes, but we were disappointed that this was simply imposed on us without any compensation or consideration for the inconvenience caused.
The flight changes also meant that we needed a late checkout from the villa on our departure day. This was another frustrating experience. Our independent travel agent made several attempts to arrange this with Oceans Florida without success, and ultimately we had to contact Oceans Florida ourselves while we were actually on holiday to get it sorted. We also had to pay extra for the late checkout.
To be clear, our main concern is not that the flights were changed or that the villa had to be changed. We understand that some aspects of a holiday can be outside a tour operator's control. Our concern is the way these issues were handled. The communication with both ourselves and our independent travel agent was extremely poor, and we felt that we were left to chase answers and resolve problems ourselves.
Overall, this was not the level of customer service or support we expected when booking a holiday through Oceans Florida. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we would not choose to use Oceans Florida again if we were to return to Florida

I booked our Disney trip & tickets last year,after doing research & finding travel agents use this company to book,decided to book direct, i was given option within our budget, I was also given the option of purchasing the park Disney tickets before our travel dates & it included free memory maker,which was a nice touch, any questions were answered promptly & we had no issues with travelling, a great experience & a lovely holiday full of memories
