They are the real deal. You really do get paid to review books. All the information you’ll ever need about how the platform works is detailed on the FAQ page, so you’re never left in the dark. They also have a great selection of books. Great and easy experience all around.

It is a website with high standards. I gained a lot of knowledge. Their service is friendly and fast.

I am an editor and used this for a client who was adamant we sign up her book. What we thought we were signing up for, a book review was not what happened. We got "Laney k" who said while she liked the book, she gave it two stars because in a 240 page book she found 3-4 "open quotation" marks. Had they been closed, she would have given it "a few more" stars, closer to a 4 or 5. My client did not pay for copying, which is apparently what Laney does. This review was initiated after heavy solicitation by email promoting their 6 million plus readers. That is not accurate. While there might be millions of subscribers, it is very difficult to unsubscribe keeping their numbers large, but meaningless. My client paid to have the book FRONT PAGE FEATURED to their MILLIONS of subscribers. It was featured, we think, but it received absolutely zero sales. Whole experience was a huge waste of money for the client and I was blamed. I do NOT recommend this service. Interestingly enough, there are no google reviews for this service.

Not an “easy” side income and not for professional reviewers. The reviews require significant time and professional-level writing for **very minimal payment**, with no guarantee that your review will actually be accepted and paid for. The books I encountered were not particularly strong, and reviewers are expected to identify grammar, spelling and other errors, something that takes additional time. Books are also not always free, so you can potentially pay for the book, spend hours reading and reviewing it, and still receive nothing in return. You provide detailed feedback that can then benefit the author, even if you are not paid. The submission system is inefficient and I found the support around it is disappointing. Reviews can also be publicly displayed before the reviewer has been paid. In my view, this is not a platform that professional reviewers would want to use. The amount of time, skill and effort required simply does not match the compensation or the uncertainty around payment.

Outstanding review because of the excellent customer service that I was provided. It was very professional, and the person was very kind and eager to help in any way they could. It was a wonderful experience, and I couldn't ask for better customer service. I also can't wait to look forward to working with you guys in the future.

So I took a promotional review offer that promised $50, the book was $20 to buy after shipping. False promises.

The problem with this website is that it only offers airport novels (low-quality books that pass the time on flights), and that their book review/approval process (which has "peer" review) is unreasonably complex. They want good reviews for subpar books, you would honestly have better luck just using ChatGPT making book reviews for them.

I'm a fairly strong writer and avid reader, but the book I got simply failed to catch my interest. Despite that, I read and reviewed the book the best I could, but kept failing the editor scorecard test for nonsensical reasons. I just gave up after the second time I got rejected and a slew of "urgent" emails from them. My account got "banned" for failing to update.

But that's their fault. I delivered a high-quality review as promised. All those other shortcomings are ON THEM. I would say they should at least refund me, but they OWE me the $50 I was promised for all the back and forth time wasted.

I've had a good experience with OnlineBookClub.org. The review submission process is clear and step-by-step, and there's a good selection of books to choose from. Instructions for formatting and ratings are easy to follow.

Onlinebookclub.org is fantastic in the way they execute and follow-up promotions of my book. Professionally done, very fast responses to any questions. But their website is a bit difficult to navigate.

I am very dissapointment with my experience as a reviewer on OBC. I put that i would be able to review books on Amazon after submitting a book review to OBC because i assumed that it would be a straightforward process. I picked my first free book(required Amazon) and published a review on OBC, i waited before I could review it on Amazon because i saw a "pending" note on the status so i assumed they editors were not yet done, there was no specific note that explained what the pending was for. Subsequently i downloaded another book as i realized that i now qualified for paid reviews. Along the course of reading the new book which also required Amazon review, i discovered that i need to have spent at least $50 on purchase to qualify to give Amazon reviews so i changed my preferences on OBC(FYI i don't reside in USA). Then i got banned. I feel that it was a harsh penalty as i did my best to follow the rules, i was just misinformed. I did email them on Sunday 30 August 2026 but still no reply. The guidelines are very extensive and a bit vague and it's very much likely that newbies will make mistakes, it's very much unfair to have such harsh penalties for mistakes that come from being misinformed.

I felt that it was a good experience with this process although, I felt that the review check ins were a little excessive at times. Also if you choose to not finish the book or if there's anything other than a positive statement they don't want to accept it.

My Book of the Day is still a couple of months away, but I had a good experience with the reviews last year. On that note, it would be nice to be able to interact with the reviewers to get more in-depth feedback or even thank them for the review.
