WARNING: Complete scam. Do NOT sign up for Ownerly services, especially the 7-day “free trial”.
We signed up for the free 7-day trial. Attempted to cancel on day 7, because we found Ownerly wasn’t helpful or accurate for historic homes and real estate histories. We did not receive any account information or confirmation when we signed up. Radio silence.
Once we attempted to cancel, we discovered Ownerly intentionally withheld the account information needed to cancel the free trial and avoid being charged $34.99 per month. Without the account information, you can’t cancel. This is why Ownerly didn’t send out a confirmation email with our account information after we signed up for the free trial. It’s designed this to trap the consumer in an unwanted subscription that renews itself monthly for $34.99 per month ($419.88 per year).
First, we tried emailing Ownerly to cancel the free trial. The email was immediately bounced back as “account doesnt exist”. We were not able to cancel. It’s designed this way.
Called the phone hotline to cancel. This was a never-ending robocall circle that went nowhere. I was never able to speak with a humanoid. Spent 30 minutes pushing keypad buttons. No resolution. We were not able to cancel. It’s designed this way.
Tried Chat. This is also a joke, with bots asking for the non-existent account information over and over, saying I must provide this information in order to cancel the trial (information Ownerly knows you don’t have because they never sent it to you in the first place). We were not able to cancel. It’s deisgned this way.
Ownerly is a complete scam. Avoid at all costs.
I will update later with the final resolution.

Don't waste your time with this rip off clown show of a operation. They insinuate you can get a home value free of charge, but then you set through their sales pitch just to find there is a charge. USE ZILLOW, no charge!!!

The tv commercial and web site is deceiving. You think you may be paying for a one time estimate but are actually signing up for a subscription. I was able to cancel my subscription immediately however I would recommend anyone who was fooled by the ads to file a complaint with the cfpb.

Wish I would have read these reviews before falling for the free trial. I cancelled through the website but they still charged me. When I contact them they said they don't receive the cancellation so couldn't refund me. Then said we will cancel now so you don't get anymore charges. Ridiculous

$5 fee is a waste of money
Paid the $5 fee to be able to download a PDF and ownerly.com didn't have any details available about my home. I wasted my money and got nothing in return. A few minutes after providing my phone number online I got a phone call from a local window company. I didn't answer, but I have a hunch where they got my phone number from.

I was very surprised
I was very surprised, as I opted for the 7 day trial for $1.00. Once I set it up, I followed their instructions for cancelling so that I would not be charged $39.99 after seven days. Upon cancelling I was then sent another offer for $14.99 per month. However, when I tried to take advantage of the offer, I kept being forwarded to another plan for $29.99, thus blocking me from further using the service. A total waste. DO NOT FALL FOR THE TRAP.

Subscription required but they don't tell you
They prompt you through a long-form, an artificially long wait, and surrendering your personal information only to gate the home valuation behind a subscription. What garbage. They give you the impression you're getting a free home value estimation and wait until you've invested time into completing the steps to hit you with the subscription. That's intentionally sneaky. If it were an actual valuable service they'd tell you openly and upfront.
Edit for response to Ownerly's response: Tell people up front. Don't bait and switch.

Did the free trial and cancelled same day. They charged the following week. Called in and was told they would cancel but refused to provide email address that cancelation confirmation would be sent to, no confirmation email came. Charged back on credit card. Just an awful company,

The information in our reports comes from aggregated public records and publicly available data. Property sales data can come from the municipal office responsible for recording real estate transactions in the area. We are dependent upon the data that has been made digitally available by county records and other public sources. If specific updates to your property was not recorded with the municipal office it is possible that the data may be unavailable to us.
Our data partners calculate estimates off their Automated Valuation Models (AVMs), which should not be used in lieu of a specific, live, on-site appraisal. You would need to have a physical appraisal partner who would go to the property and appraise it. Ownerly data is a great point of departure, but many variables exist in home valuation and we cannot guarantee that data sources will always be fully complete, accurate or predictive of actual sales and costs.
If we are missing data on a property, please know that we are constantly updating and expanding our database to provide the most accurate and comprehensive reports we can.

I was hacked
My PayPal account was hacked and the person used my info to purchase a subscription for this online realtor shopping for homes. I am no where in the market to purchase a home.
This merchant didn’t send any email or notice to validate that I was the person who placed the subscription!!

Deception at its Worst!
It's a scam. They advertise that it costs $1.00 for a report but they are actually signing you up for a $32.00 a month membership if you don't cancel. I was asleep at the switch and ended up paying for 10 months through February. I wish I could give zero stars,
