Great Customer Service, nice reasonable priced car for hire. I would recommend this company to anyone.

We have used this company for some years but service has deteriorated and they have let us down by not supplying vehicle we had been lead to believe was available for our holiday in a few weeks time. Poor communication and no apology. I would no longer recommend.

I have seen that other people before me reported the same issue.
I tried two times to book a car through their website, and two times I received an auto response mail saying 'someone would contact me ASAP to confirm prices and availability'.
I even sent an e-mail asking for a car availability and a quotation but without any answer.
I understand that they have a lot of customers in this period of year, but courtesy must not be forgotten!!!!

Booked a two week rental well in advance for a Suzuki Jimny on our recent holiday in Kefalonia. It was a little more expensive than the "normal" type of vehicle, but we expected that for a soft top. Whilst I wasn't expecting a brand new car, nor was I expecting a car with nearly 180,000 kms on the clock!
The engine management light came on before we had even reached our hotel and it sounded like a bag of assorted spanners mechanically. Every time you went over a pothole or dip in the road it sounded like bits were going to drop off the thing. The brakes were lethal, requiring excessive effort to get them to work properly and the vibrations through the steering wheel were terrible. The drivers seat belt didn't work as it was frayed to buggery and wouldn't retract or pull out properly. If we had been in an accident it would have been useless. Also, the lights were absolutely crap with the output of a couple of candles, which ruled out using the vehicle after dark. I didn't fancy taking on the typical Kefalonia hairpin bends without some help!
I emailed Pefanis immediately we got to our hotel to let them know I wasn't happy with the car, and asking to change it. Their response was that they had advised me that the car was "older" when I booked it. Excuse me?? There's "older" and there's "ready for the breakers yard older" and I wasn't expecting the latter. When I then complained about the engine management light being on, I was told to ignore it!! That's great if the car had decided to give up the ghost in the back of beyond. Another point was that we were informed that the car had air conditioning. I guess it did if you pulled the soft top back, but we couldn't find a button for air conditioning so it didn't. Not very happy that I rented what was essentially a wreck of a car for over 550 euros. I won't be using Pefanis again that's for sure.

We hired a jeep for 2 days but had to change to just 1 has my daughter booked a boat trip, they were brilliant just adjusted the agreement, before we arrived they told us what we,d pay and it was hassle free, fully insured was told I was covered for everything so peace of mind, good car girls loved it sat in the back with the roof down, brilliant service honest and will definately use on our return next august

We used Pefanis for the month of June 2022 - highly recommend. The service has been great - our car developed a small fault and they changed it the next day. Good communication. Drop off and pick up at the airport was straightforward and they even returned my hat when I realised I had left it in the car on our last day ( today ). Attenzione questo noleggio auto non è serio! Ho prenotato una macchina tramite il sito a 16€/giorno e per 12 gg. Quando sono andata a ritirare la macchina il conto è stato di 310€, per una macchina vecchia (70000 km ca) e mal tenuta. Ho chiesto, visto la cifra, di cambiare macchina ed averne una”nuova” e più grande, per tutta risposta mi hanno detto che avevano fuori TUTTE le altre macchine e che dovevo prendere quella o niente. Non lo consiglio assolutamente!

I found Pefanis car hire in Kefalonia excellent, they quoted a very reasonable hire which was fully inclusive of all insurance. Very relaxed people and car performed perfectly. They spoke excellent English and even had an English person to meet us at the airport.
Will certainly use them again.

I hoped to get hassle free car hire and didn't anticipate having an accident. It was fully comprehensive so apparently no need for excess. Bit perturbed when they wanted me to leave my wife at the airport while we went to get the car (about 500m away) but we avoided that thankfully. Signed for a VW Polo as per my request. Bit basic but happy to go. 1/4 tank so to return 1/4 tank. No extras to pay. All good. Day 3, passenger window seized up so went in on the way past and they replaced the car immediately with an even better, newer VW Polo. Very good service. All good. Day 4, driving out for lunch and some local tycoon (apparently) was tailgating me for a mile or so and I had 2 cars coming in the opposite direction so had to stop. Everyone stopped in good time except tycoon man who rode straight into the back of me. We exchanged details (he said tell them to phone him, they would know who he was) and I took the slightly dented car back in. After checking we were all ok, we were told there was no problem, that there would be no repercussions to us and THEN they asked whose fault it was?? and did we want another car. I said it was fine, we'd keep this one and off we went. True to their word, not a single repercussion. Dropped the car off and travelled home. Superb.
I can only imagine if I'd used a 'cheaper' place I'd have instantly been charged 1500 euros which I'd have to claim back on another excess policy (which we usually do take out). Very impressed at their positive attitude. Will use these again and I 100% trust their 'comprehensive' insurance.

I thoroughly recommend this car hire company. The price you are given is what you pay without hidden charges.
The car I had was in excellent order and the collection and return services are without any stret.
I’m returning to Kefalonia in September and I wouldn’t dream of hiring from any other company.

Hired a car online...5 days, €25 a day... €125
on delivery they charged €180...
No idea why.... I emailed, they said our online reservation was not a contract and that no price was uoted...luckilly I kepy all their emails sent them screenshots.. they then strted to play dumb.. came up with a story that another car was also reserved in our name for a later date. Absolutely not true. No explanation as to why we were charged an extra €55. Then I got a weird email saying the car was no longer available... ridiculous, it was in the car park of our hotel!
I will never use this company again and will tell my freinds not to either...

Was a bit worried after reading a couple of the latest reviews however I had an immediate response to my enquiry. Our flight was very delayed and we did not land until the early hours of morning but they were waiting for us outside the airport as planned. Car was exactly what we requested, no issues at all. Excellent service all round and highly recommended

Astounded at Mr Pefanis's comments. We, nor the other couple were never offered the assistance mentioned!! The rep stated that there were no cars available and there was absolutely nothing she could do for us.

The other family were treated exactly as we were and there was no muddle with Focus/Fiesta as Pefanis states.

Dreadful service and compounded by false statements.

Hi,As responsible for Pefanis Car Hire Kefalonia I have to mention that the car was not available to be delivered as previous customer mentioned due to accident happent 3 hours before his arrival but we offered him to find a car from other customer and pay any difference in price or deliver the next day.We would pay for any transfer expenses to his accommodation too.The other customer he mentioned had the same problem on this day simply had booked different type of car and by mistake mentiond ford focus insted of ford fiesta therefore caused an availability problem which was solved later after checking his booking.Client mentioned asked to talk to Mr Pefanis but he never was awared to this maybe due to his rep maybe did not mentioned this to him.

BEWARE! Booked a car by email and on arriving at Kefalonia airport was in formed that they had no vehicles available. I had evidence of all the email correspondence on my phone but this carri
ed no weight - they simply had no cars available. Another family arrived, also with email evidence of a booking, and were told exactly the same! We demanded to speak to the owner but surprise, surprise he was not available. The cheapest car available at the airport as we had not booked was @€1000 !! Managed to find an alternative car, with the rep's help, but due to short notice it was considerably more expensive that the rental agreed with Pefanis. We were informed by a number of people that Pefanis tend to overbook and it seems we were caught out. Not a good start to our holiday.

Having read reviews I thought Pefanis sounded like a good car hire company, I visited their website requested to book a car, the day after doing so I received an auto response mail saying 'someone would contact me ASAP to confirm prices and availability'. That was it, never heard anything further from them so pretty disappointing service. The quoted prices online are the out of season prices so probably there to create interest. Even a call to say they could not provide a car would have been god.

Fantastic local car hire company. Easy to book, no excess, no extra charges. From initial enquiry, booking, queries and collection was all made easy by friendly, helpful staff. Car was clean, tidy and what we booked. So refreshing to hire a holiday car with no hassles. Would highly recommend and definitely book again. Thank you

Completely painless experience - the car we had booked by email (with no deposit required) was ready and waiting on arrival and we were on our way after completing the required paperwork. We will certainly use Pefanis car hire again on any return journey to Kefalonia. Highly recommended.
