Pizza Express Christchurch....Ohh dear, its a NO from us

Customer Service starts the moment you choose to walk up to a business but with Pizza Express this means standing outside for 5 minutes waiting to be greeted and offered a seat. After that 5 minutes I walked in and found a member of staff who was pretty rude and told me to go back and stand behind the sign, 'she was busy'

Food was extremely ordinary, they made me a Pollo Forza which had 3 tiny pieces of chicken on and an not much else - I think that cost more that £17 plus a pint for £7.50 so not a great culinary experience overall.

Its pretty clear I am not alone Pizza Express on Trustpilot scores a very telling 52% of 1 star reviews.

Are we about to see yet another business dissappear from the high street !!

Went to restaurant in speke with my son a while ago, food and service was great.
Yet for delivery I ordered the thin and crispy, the pizza was very pale underneath and soggy.
As if it had been rushed.
Had to put it back in the oven.
If it states crispy I don't expect soggy.
Uber eats response was dismissive and I use their service on a regular basis.
Very disappointed.

2 Stunden auf die Lieferung gewartet. Dann kam ein Teigklumpen ohne viel Belag. Kaum Soße, kaum Hackfleichsch. Ein wenig Käse und Zwiebeln. Salami hab ich extra dazu bestellt---- wurde unterschlagen. Salat war versalzen und sah nicht frisch aus. Alles in allem:
Ungenießbar... für die Tonne ... nie wieder wird dort bestellt!

Manager Maria very rude- Poole tower park BH12 4NY

I visited the restaurant with my child for lunch and, as I had not made a reservation, I politely asked whether a particular table was available. The manager, Maria, informed me that customers without bookings must wait at the entrance in a rude tone. While I understand restaurant procedures, I found the manner in which this was communicated to be unnecessarily abrupt and unwelcoming.

The interaction left me feeling uncomfortable and unfortunately affected what should have been an enjoyable lunch visit with my child. I would appreciate it if this feedback could be reviewed and addressed with the management team.

Der Pizza-Express Palermo steckt einem einfach ungefragt Werbung in den Briefkasten, auch wenn darauf sehr groß "KEINE WERBUNG" steht. Dies wird einfach nicht beachtet, dass man keine Werbung möchte. Ja, die Pizzeria beauftragt jemand und ja der Beauftragte ignoriert das einfach. Der Pizza-Express Palermo als Auftraggeber ist jedoch verantwortlich und für die Durchführung des Auftrags und die Auswahl seiner Dienstleister verantwortlich. Niemand sonst.

Visited Maidstone pizza express today and used the buy main get second for £1 deal
There was an issue with the app as I am gluten free so it didn’t register rewards correctly.
Our server Sue was excellent and sorted the issue promptly without fuss with support from her manager
Food was excellent service was excellent and Sue was superb
Will be back soon

If I could leave zero stars I would. I am Very disappointed with our experience in pizza express basingstoke yesterday. This was meant to be a date night, a first one in a good while as we have a toddler and recovering from a major operation I had in may. We arrived and got seated just before 8pm, however our table was still dirty and hadn’t even been set. My partner had dirty cutlery from the customer before and there were also dirty glasses left on the table. We didn’t get told how to order, if someone would be over or we needed to do it by the app. So waited 20 minutes for someone to come and take our order which they didn’t so we had to ask for someone to do so. 30 minutes passed and still no sign of our order. People that had came in after us received their order and ours was still a no show. My partner walked up to the bar to ask where our pizzas was for us to find out that they missed our order and skipped past it in the kitchen so it wasn’t even being cooked. We had a film booked for 9pm and couldn’t wait any longer so we had to cancel our order and leave with no dinner. My partner paid for the drinks we brought which I feel we shouldn’t have had to. I am really disappointed with our experience and the lack of communication your staff gave us.

Yes it was busy being a Friday night and I understand mistakes can happen but if you cannot keep on top of how busy it is then you shouldn’t continue to let people in. This was my first time visiting pizza express so I will not be recommending it to any one else.

App says add a tip here’s a tip. Cook your pizza’s better add more cheese and actually cook the ham with the pizza.

I used to love PizzaExpress for a casual dinner, but my recent visits have been really disappointing. The prices have gone up significantly, while the portion sizes seem to have shrunk. The classic pizzas are now noticeably thinner and have barely any toppings on them—you're mostly paying for flatbread. Even the iconic dough balls felt smaller than they used to be.

To make things worse, the service at my local branch felt incredibly rushed. The starters and mains came out almost at the exact same time, so half our food got cold while we were eating. The waitstaff seemed totally stretched thin, and it took forever just to flag someone down to ask for the bill.

Staff are ignorant,ordered a paste bolognaise and when it came it was a massive piece of pasta with finely ground bolognaise spread underneath like a thin layer of butter so I sent it straight back with a grunt from the waiter,american style pizza came for my daughter and the base was as thin as paper with 3 yes 3 pieces of chorizo and nothing more apart from cheese on each slice.
The kids menu bolognaise states"slow cooked beef"it was nothing more than a bowl of pasta with bolognaise drizzled on it.
Last time we came it wasn't busy and they missed off our starter.
Food quality is not worth the money,staff are ignorant and very abrupt.
Spend your money some where else.

I walked into Pizza Express at maritime in Falmouth yesterday it was about 7.45pm the place was half empty there were many free tables about 25% were occupied. I waited to be seated with my wife at the till and after about 3 minutes a waitress who'd seen us come in wasn't busy finally came over. I asked for a table for 2 and she asked if I'd booked which I hadn't. I decided to go there because it looked empty she said they weren't any tables available and I kindly informed her your just about empty. She acknowledged my opinion but went on to say they had a member of staff off ill a waitress and they were struggling with service. I noted at least 6 members if staff in the front of house Restaurant. I just hope a boss or the owner of this establishment reads this review. Just because if you notice lowering income streams or loosing money or worst facing closure due to bankruptcy this might be part of your problem. Won't go there again definitely.

Essen hat zwei Stunden gedauert, ich hatte Grillteller. Es war kalt das Essen das Fleisch. Salat ohne Soße Pommes matschig zu wenig. Dafür zwanzig Euro

Rushden Lakes: Usually à great experience but we haven’t been for a while and the menu has shrunk. No prawn starter any more! Had calamari instead which was nice. My husband loves Dough Balls en Forno which hasn’t been on the menu for a long time but they make it specially for him here usually. Not any more as it’s ‘not allowed’. Pizza almost see through and à flabby , almost raw centre. Not crispy enough at the edges. Whats happened here! Service pleasant and helpful. Much too expensive for what you get. Have been eating at PE for decades and it’s sliding downhill fast.

I ordered some Cheese sticks and a fiorentyna pizza from pizza express in Wilmslow and when it came the pizza was cold and the egg was rock hard and yet the cheese sticks were ok , I complained to the manageress about this and she said it was Deliveroos fault . It was delivered in 9 minutes so no way was it the drivers fault. Will never order from them again as she would not rectify this

I frequent Pizza Express at least once a month, and have always had a positive service and great food. Sadly that was not the case with my last visit to Pizza Express in the Derbion on the 11.04.2026. I was celebrating my 60th birthday with 3 of my close friends. We had pre-booked a table for 8.30pm. When we were seated, we were told that we had to order our starters and mains together, as the kitchen was closing at 9pm. I was shocked. We ordered our drinks and starters and mains. When our food arrived, shortly afterwards our receipt was also placed on the table. We felt very rushed, and I started to get very stressed, as the staff were not friendly and we were not tended to. We had no time to buy further drinks or order a dessert. Sadly my 60th birthday celebration at Pizza Express was far from enjoyable and I left the restaurant very upset, disappointed and dissatisfied. My friends and I will not be visiting again. If you are offering booking at 8.30pm your customers should still have at least 1 hour and 30minutes to enjoy their meal and order desert and further drinks. If the kitchen is closing at a certain time please reflect this on the website and booking slots should stop at 7.30pm or 8pm at the very latest.

Ordered home delivery. Food arrived later then expected, arrived STONE COLD, small portions, total waste of money never ordering from them ever again.

Mina at pizza express Shepherd’s Bush looked after us wonderfully well. Made our visit very special. Thank you Mina!

Just a quick observation about PEs salad. I ordered a Buddha Bowl salad costing around £16. It was meagre and tight fisted given that it mainly consisted of a handful of bagged mixed salad with token quantities of goats cheese, beetroot and seeds that in all must have added up to less than two quid. These salad dishes must vary according to the whims of the chef and the availability of ingredients. Either way, be more imaginative... and generous.
