Plates4Less were absolutely brilliant to deal with from start to finish. They were efficient and professional throughout and really made the whole process simple. I chose the option for them to deal with the DVLA which I would recommend as they are close by and I'm sure this helped with the speed of things. Would highly recommend this company and they would be my first port of call if I was looking for another plate. I really can't praise them enough.

The plate costs more than if you were…
The plate costs more than if you were to purchase it directly from the DVLA, which is priced at £250 with no additional postage charges.
They are charging £272.00, which means you would already be losing £22.00.
On top of that, they want to charge you nearly £50 for a transfer process that takes less than two minutes on the DVLA website. While they claim to offer a fifty percent discount on this quick process, it's ironic that they call themselves "Plate for Less," yet they are charging more than the DVLA.
The last time I checked, "for less" implies that you should be paying less, but all I see is that you are paying more, along with an unreasonable charge for a service that should be free.
Furthermore, the DVLA does not charge anything for this three-minute process on their website.
If you can apply for a passport online or request a replacement driving license online, this process is equally straightforward.

We offer a significantly wider choice of registrations, including many lower-priced options available within our Bargains area, as well as more premium and rare registrations not available through the DVLA. In addition, we provide flexible payment options, including the ability to spread the cost, which many customers find particularly useful.
Our service also includes optional upgrades designed to provide convenience, support, and peace of mind. For example, our Done-For-You (DFY) Transfer Service removes the need for customers to complete paperwork themselves. While some assignments can be completed online, a significant proportion cannot due to vehicle eligibility issues, tax status, or record discrepancies. In these cases, applications must be submitted manually, and we attend DVLA headquarters daily to hand-deliver them, helping to avoid delays and ensuring everything is handled correctly from start to finish.
We are also a DVLA-registered number plate supplier, meaning customers can order fully compliant plates at the same time as purchasing their registration. The DVLA does not supply physical number plates, so customers purchasing directly must source these elsewhere. We always advise using a trusted, compliant supplier, as there have been increasing cases of misuse and vehicle cloning linked to unregulated providers.
In addition, unlike a government website, we provide direct access to an experienced UK-based team via phone and email, offering support at every stage of the process, including aftersales assistance and resale support.
