Plympton Car Centre Reviews 

Ordinarily, I’d never leave a review — but my experience with Jacob and Plympton Car Centre deserves one.

Let me set the scene: I know next to nothing about cars. All I knew for certain was that my two-door, four-seat sports car was no longer cutting it for life with a 7-year-old, a 1-year-old, and a 6-week-old. (Yes, parting with the sports car was a sad day.) What I needed was more seats, less stress, and someone patient enough to guide me through the minefield of family-friendly cars.

From the very first phone call, Jacob was excellent. I explained that I didn’t want to be left wandering around a forecourt pretending to know what I was looking at. I wanted someone to talk me through my options, explain the pros and cons, and take me out for a test drive or two. Jacob did exactly that — and more. He walked me through several models, highlighted the differences clearly, and even helped me wrangle car seats into three different vehicles so I could see what actually worked for my little tribe.

He was professional, polite, and refreshingly engaging throughout, turning what I expected to be a headache into a genuinely enjoyable experience. Add in the excellent deal of 3 years’ worth of servicing and MOTs for around £14 a month, plus the comprehensive 3-year warranty I chose for peace of mind, and it felt like a no-brainer.

I drove away in a Land Rover Discovery Sport — and while I may still occasionally pine for the sports car, I know I made the right choice. When the time comes to change again, I’ll definitely be heading back to Jacob and the team at Plympton Car Centre.

I bought a car 3 years ago. Reported on the test drive that there was a hole in the passenger seat belt unaware of the consequences.
Collected the car believing this had been dealt with oh no MOT failed £400 to replace.

Car taken to We buy any car today .. apparently it has been a write off in the past.

How disgusting is this they must have known.

What a load of shambles this company is. Selling dodgy cars and then have no care of after sales or rectifying the problems. AVOID!!!

Awful company sold a faulty vehicle non stop problem with it since buying it after care is terrible avoid at all cost!!!!

The WORST experience buying a car, I’ve ever had! Sold me a car with 4 injectors that all needed replacing, coolant leak and timing chain needing replacing I had to also replace the battery for £280 2 weeks in, 3k of work needed doing which the warranty company was only happy to pay half of it. After Plympton car centre said “ we’d get to the bottom of this even if we pay half and the warranty company pay half. They didn’t honour their word even after I had the car inspected by the finance company and they held the dealership liable for the timing chain issue saying they have one chance to fix it, they still refused leaving the finance company to cover the costs of the timing chain. Thank god it was on finance and the finance company have helped me or I’d be left to fix it myself after having the car for not even 2 months! Absolute joke, I wouldn’t advise anyone to ever go here and waste your hard earned money. This took me 3 months to get to the bottom of

My father purchased a car for my sister to ensure he could get to his hospital appointments once his motor neurone disease reduces his own mobility, the car broke down whilst being driven only 24hrs after purchase. We have requested a refund as lost faith in the car and have been refused. I would not recommend dealing with this company regardless of previous reviews. It has inspired me to start my own charity venture though so please do look for this across social media channels “justice for Consumers” it will focus on helping people deal with companies that treat them unfairly and will name and shame publicly those that have a disregard for treating customers fairly. #financialombudsman

Please read ALL the negative reviews for this company. They are VERY accurate. I've never felt a need to write a bad review in my life but this place is to be avoided at all cost. The reviews on their website are probably made by friends and family.
I'm not going to go into any details now except to say that after leaving message after message I received call at 10:30 at night from a bunch of young drunken guys asking me what my name is and laughing then hung up. I haven't done anything to deserve bad service but this was ridiculous. STAY AWAY!

Recently brought a car for plymton car centre and can’t fault them at all. I want to give a big thanks the Josh L and Bailey for making the experience so enjoyable and going above and beyond to make sure I was happy. Would 100% recommend these guy, amazing 🙂

If you want reliability then don’t buy from here. Myself, along with a number of customers have brought a vehicle from here. On first appearance, cars look good and the staff will talk nice to you. However once you drive off the forecourt, they will treat you like crap and the owner will see you as just another customer lining his pockets. He doesn’t care about customer satisfaction.

problems will start with the car and the warranty they provide is useless and won’t pay out. Long story short, I bought a car and it had a recall on it, I was then given a courtesy car which was a complete shed.the engine management light was on and they said it was fine to drive.

Whilst I had the courtesy car I then got pulled over by the police because it had no TAX..

I’ve spoken with other customers who have recently brought vehicles and they all have the same issue.
Many of the 5 star comments have been made either whilst the customer has just brought the vehicle or just after. So these don’t reflect the real review satisfaction.

This place puts on a good front but if you dig a little, soon cracks will show.

PLEASE PLEASE don’t waste your money.

Your lack of respect for customers is a joke to say the least. You get paid a good sum each year and you can’t even do the basics of respecting the customer. You have lost yet another customer and I hope other customers read this review and decide not to buy from you.

No doubt you will delete this review as it highlights the truth about you and your company. It don’t you worry, I will keep posting until people get the message.

Once again I had my wife's car in for an MOT. I have to say that the customer service provided by the team is second to none. Great communication from start to finish, and always a smile from getting there to leaving. There will be the haters as usual, but in my honest opinion, we wouldn't go anywhere else. Many thanks for dealing with you and keep up the good work 👏

The car sales experience was excellent, leading me to recommend to family and friends. My recent after sales experience through the on site garage was awful. I found the director to be rude and argumentative and one of his staff was very rude also. A huge shame as my purchase, my sons purchase and a friends purchase amounts to a large sum. We will not purchase again though! Very poor

Yet again, outstanding service from these guys even a year after buying my vehicle from them. I won't bore you with the details but the service from both Bailey from the sales team and Neil from the workshop have has been above and beyond any other dealership/garage I have ever encountered. Well done all of you guys and thanks.

Great group of people. This is the second time bought a car here. Morgan has been great.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this dealership. To begin with, one of the keys supplied with the car didn’t work, and when I raised this issue, I was told they don’t test the keys. Not exactly what you expect when purchasing a car. When I spoke to Morgan about it, I was met with an unprofessional response—“have you not got Google? That's all we'd do” This is not the kind of customer service anyone should have to deal with.

During the purchase process, I expressed that I needed some time to think over the decision, and Morgan rudely responded with, “what is there to think about?” This pushy approach was uncomfortable and unnecessary.

Post-sale, it has been impossible to get any follow-up from Wayne, who never once got back to me despite multiple calls. The only person who’s been helpful throughout this ordeal is Adam—he’s the sole reason I’m giving one star. Adam has been personable and responsive, but unfortunately, the rest of the team seriously lacks professionalism and customer care.

I would not recommend this dealership based on my experience.

I got my Nissan Juke from pcc in June, I thought I had a problem to be resolved (I'm very anxious after bad previous experiences with cars) I'm not a mechanic! After notifying me it wasn't an issue and nothing was broken I did feel abit silly collecting it but the young man on reception was lovely, the car is under a good warranty so it's reassuring that they are honest good people!!

Recently bought my daughters first car from Adam and Morgan.

Outstanding service from start to finish and a very enjoyable service, Morgan is a very cheeky chap but in a very professional way.

Adam is very knowledgeable and is a whizz when it comes to finance… my credit score isn’t the best but he got me an approval within minutes.
