I am updating this to show everyone how they charge you for returns even though my shoe in my size was humongous they did not honor their policy of sending me a missed size. I emailed them with the following:

Hello, I am contacting you regarding order #Q. I was charged a $15 fee on my return, but the shoes were sent completely mis-sized/gigantic. I only tried them on for seconds and mailed them back the next day. Per your own online shipping policy, 'we will gladly refund your original shipping cost if you return an item because of an error that was our fault.' Please refund the remaining $15 to my original payment method immediately. Thank You.
This was their reply:

Hi J.,

Thank you for your email!

The order had a $7 shipping fee when the order was placed. This was to cover the shipping to be delivered to your home.

The additional $7 fee is for the return label. This fee is standard for all returns.

The shoe was a size 37 for this brand. It is possible they run slightly bigger than the standard sizing you are accustom to. If you wish to place an order for a smaller size, we would be happy to void the shipping on a new pair!

They did not give me a full refund. I returned shoes immediately as the shoes were huge on me but they were my regular size. I went online through portal took pictures etc. and got a code and sent them ups as they requested and they still charged me an absurd amount of money= almost 15 $ and I don’t have a clue why. It is Insane I feel the literally robbed me!! i followed all their rules, shoes were in pristine condition as I only tried one on for less than 1 minute!! Awful!

Zero stars for customer service and returns and false advertising! Their sizing is incorrect. I bought Regina boot 38. I always take 38 and have a little wiggle room in my winters. Plus, They will NEVER stretch to form my foot as they are NOT leather as I thought. It is not my fault their sizing is wrong. These seem a size smaller. I doubt the can hold up to rain or snow.
The return is very difficult as there is no return location or storefront near me. I have to pay for shipping as well because they say its not their fault. They just give me the run around. I can't print a return label! Arggggh!
So i am stick with 60$ boots that i can't wear or return and no winter boots as well now.

BEWARE OF HIDDEN RETURN FEES!

I bought regular-priced shoes with a $10 first-time buyer code, but Quarks deducted a $7 return fee from my refund.
Their written return policy does not disclose a $7 fee for returning regular items.

Check your refund amounts closely—they are quietly charging return fees that aren't listed in their policy.

I purchased a pair of Tall black Reiker boots. They are perfect. I had previously purchased a pair of Merrell hikers and had a great experience. They're footwear is of high quality and the ordering was seamless and was shipped promptly and arrived quickly.

I ordered a very popular running shoe that was an amazing price! The order arrived in a timely way and the shipping was free. I will definitely order from this company again

Great price, fast delivery, very good quality

I have ordered twice now (2 pairs of Taos sandals)from Quarks. Both have arrived within a few days of placing the order. Both boxes were wrapped in plastic-- thankfully as one arrived during a rain storm. I really like Taos sandals as they fit me well and have good support. I wish we lived closer to one of their brick & mortar stores as that would be my go to shoe store as Taos shoes are not available from many retailers in our area. It is great that you can purchase the package protection & free returns for a minimal amount.

Buyer beware when ordering online: Quarks automatically charges a $6.20 fee called ‘Packet protection plus free returns.’ The sandals didn’t fit and they do not provide a code to send the shoes back free. It cost me $23 to return them! I won’t be purchasing from them again!

Order was placed on April 8 2026. Received confirmation email next day then nothing! After 8 days I called their 1-800 number to ask what was the holdup. Nice soft spoken lady confirmed the shoes were in stock and that they were waiting for the company to produce the shipping label!? Still waiting. If no progress will try to cancel and get a refund. Will update this post if anything new (good or bad) happens.
Called a second time and again good service. They had my first call on record and lady said she would see if she could hurry the process. My shoes arrived three days after my second call and everything is Ok. I was too quick to worry. My bad. Actually very good customer service and a company I recommend.

I placed an online order and realized after reading reviews that I needed to size up. I sent an email to Quarks the same day requesting a size up. A customer service rep responded within a day advising that the size had been switched out as requested. The order was processed and delivered within 3 days. It was a good experience, no complaints here. I'm very happy with my purchase.

They do not answer their email or phone. They sent me two slightly different shoes and I have to pay return shipping through their return portal, despite what their website says about return shipping costs. I won’t buy from them again.

Great Price on item, fast shipping. Ordered Dec 28 and had my item by Jan 9, despite the Boxing week craziness and New Year holiday. Excellent online retail experience. My only minor issue would be a heads-up to the retailer: My shoe box WAS damaged in shipping, and if i had to return the item, this would have cost me 20% restocking fee. Thankfully, a non-issue.

I’ve ordered online twice from this company. Both orders were cancelled by them well after the orders were reported shipped. Definitely do not recommend.

If you’re looking to grow your business, it’s important to address these issues. I hope you can improve customer satisfaction quickly, so I’m hoping to receive my order without any complications.

Ordered a pair of boots I had been eyeing on other sites waiting for the price to come down. Not only did Quarks have the best price (even with shipping fees) but they also had 3 other pairs of shoes at such great prices I ordered them too! All came well wrapped in plastic ( no weather getting in! Almost didn’t get the shoes out lol). Just ordered another pair and got them today!
Anywho, had a great experience, fast shipping, Canadian company, great prices and packaged very well. No issues so can’t speak to their customer service. Very happy!

Have ordered now 4 pairs of shoes in 2 months. Love. Them. All.
Shipped quick, packaged nicely and quality shoes. I only ordered 1 pair to start because some reviews seemed sketchy and I only just found their site.

Not sure why any bad reviews. Quality shoes. Speedy service and they are Canadian. Best price compared to many.

If you know the brand you’re buying, order from here. If you don’t, go try on a pair somewhere. In one brand, I had to size up. so happy to found this site of a huge selection too.

Quark should get google reviews. These other sites are hard to find and post and therefore skew the results.

This is a GREAT store

Sept 2025- I ordered a pair of sandals at 11pm my time zone. The next day the shipping label was created. My ordered arrived within the time frame promised, at the earliest of the estimated date range.
The box included a nice letter from Quarks thanking me for my order.
This item was something I already owned, loved and lost and could not replace in my own province. I was so happy to find it at Quarks and very happy with the speedy delivery.

This is a shoe store that does not care about customer service. They will not answer the phone send emails and when they do their online staff are rude incomptent and apathetic. Every time you make an order in about a day you will receive an email stating "sorry no stock" that size. Especially if there is a sale. It is very almost fraudulent to lead customers on by taking clients orders comfirming these orders without having the stock and waiting two days to send an email stating there are no boots shoes in that size. This store also continually sends out wrong orders and double orders that are different.When I phoned and actually talked to someone it was a nightmare. First person was very young and had no clue what I was asking about. Second person a woman was so rude and a bully. I quoted two different orders which she could see her screen and just would not help, She had sent out a duplicate pair of boots with two different order numbers. Charged also for them and refused refund. Screaming at customers just does not work in her position. This intimidating behavior is extremely rude. I am told she is related to owner. She has been there for years and yes she is the most difficult person. No other shoe store works with customers in such a manner. Having no stock for orders comfirmed is actually again fraudulent. This is just an ongoing set of problems in this store that are condoned. In this day and age it is not Forgivable. Customers need to feel appreciated and valued. But in this store they are as above treated with such indifference. There are many better stores out there. These other stores the ones I deal with Now are appalled at this behavior and are so professional. Something this store needs to change from management to online(the worst) right down to clerks. Save your money as in this store that is all they care about. Money they keep if there is a problem. Beter more competent stores out there who actually care about customer service.

I made my order and within a few days my shoes were in my hands. They took the time to write me a thank you note.
