This site/app (i forgot if it has an app) is the worst, no good books, no engagment and just unfun all together AND you NEED to pay for it???????

Reading Plus claims to improve literacy, but in reality, it’s just an endurance test in boredom and frustration. Instead of making reading enjoyable, it turns it into a monotonous chore, sucking the life out of every passage. The stories? Either painfully dull or so random you wonder if they were generated by an AI that barely understands human interests. Who actually enjoys reading a dry three-page essay about the history of scissors or some obscure scientist no one cares about?

And the pacing system? A complete disaster. It forces you to read at a speed that makes zero sense—either so slow you feel like you’re in a coma, or so fast you’re skimming words without actually processing anything. Oh, and let’s not forget the eye-tracking box—one of the most infuriating features ever created. If your eyes so much as twitch outside the designated area, the program acts like you didn’t read anything at all. Congratulations, start over!

Then there are the comprehension questions, which feel like they were written by someone who didn’t read the passage themselves. Instead of testing actual understanding, they throw in trick questions or vague wording just to mess with you. And if you get too many wrong? Boom—you’re stuck in an endless cycle of repetitive, uninspired reading assignments, as if punishment somehow makes people better readers.

And let’s be real—the whole program is just busywork disguised as education. It doesn’t foster a love for reading. It doesn’t encourage curiosity. It doesn’t make you want to pick up a book in your free time. If anything, it makes students despise reading even more. The best way to improve literacy is to let students explore engaging, meaningful content at their own pace—not force them to endure soul-crushing passages with robotic comprehension tests.

Reading plus is really boring and not fun. At first I loved it but then everything fell down hill. Worst app ever. I would not recommend for children under 1 years old 😃 that’s all for now bye bye bye

well i guess some of the stories are ok but it makes me nervous because a lot of the time after the story finishes there are questions, and the questions are all really hard to get correct or unrelated to the story. It just makes kids hate learning even more. I just sit there and dont concentrate on the book because i get so bored.

I've been stuck on the same rotation of boring reading plus "books" for like 2 years, glad we don't do that anymore at our school. Actual books can be way more interesting so do that instead. DOWN WITH THIS SORT OF THING!!

It’s a terrible app I am sat there bored playing with my hair and when you get a bad source it frustrates the hell out of you. Makes you annoyed and bored. You are starring a stupid screen that is no good for metal health. This is app/website should be taken down because off all the dislikes and terrible everything. 0/5 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE IN THE WORLD👎👎👎👎

This is the most horrible website it’s the worst thing in the world reading on a bloody computer? You can you and pick one up off your book shelf and sit in a calm room? Also when teachers say “ everyone you r probably watching to much of the phones * etc.* get off them” we have to do this reading plus and they don’t care abt our mental health right it’s bloody nasty thing in the world!!

Absolutely horrible app it’s so not massive massive? You know what else is massive? Low taper fade but on a serious note this app makes me want to die 4 books and 1 vocab 🖕

it would be a solid app if it didn't have the questions... the questions are always so specific or not related to the book at all meaning you have to guess. I would rather get my eyes ripped and get ripped in half then do those mind numbing heart crushing questions. And there’s also no good books like most of them sound interesting only for the book to rant on about a completely different topic. The books are somehow more boring then watching paint dry

Awful software. My child presses play, walks away and guesses answers. Absolutely pointless exercise. Why not read actual books ???

when they said my I-rate was slow, it made the words disappear and they also said they were ''helping'' me. Like I mean I couldn't even read the story. Support mode does not help anyone either. It makes me so mad.

I really dislike this thing; I hope it goes away. Every time I try to read a book, it's always so boring. Every time my teacher begins to say the word "reading," I scream and flip the tables over and throw chairs everywhere. I dislike this thing; every time I do it for homework, I literally want to cry and pull out all strands of my hair. My hair is so thin from the stress of this frustrating website. I hope it goes away. Oh my gosh, I can't stand it. As I'm writing this, I'm reading about a cooking TV show; I thought this was meant to be educational. I don’t want to read about how Henry VIII exploded in his coffin. Please, please, please, shut this website down; I beg. When I find whoever made this website, I'm going to throw a fit. I don’t want to learn about what's on my feet, I don’t want to learn about underwater caves (that was kind of interesting, to be fair). I don’t want to learn about how glasses are made, and I really don’t care how polite I am in foreign countries. I could not care less. I barely remember anything from the stories, so then I can't remember my answers, and I get like 70%. And it's so frustrating! Wait until I start cooking soups with the schools that have reading plus engraved in their system; just wait.
