I recently engaged Relocate Removals…
I recently engaged Relocate Removals Purfleet for short‑term storage, as I was due to complete on a property transaction scheduled for mid July which unfortunately fell through. I had already booked them for my removel so did not want to lose my deposit. My belongings were stored with them for short while, yet upon delivery to my new address I was extremely disappointed to find several pieces of valuable furniture significantly damaged.
Their facilities may be adequate for general personal or low‑value items, but they are clearly unsuitable for high‑quality or valuable furniture. The level of deterioration in such a short period is unacceptable and demonstrates a lack of proper care, protection, and appropriate storage conditions.
When I raised my concerns, the company’s response was:
"Please note when removing storage goods by outside carriers or yourself, Relocate Removals & Storage Ltd insurance ceases. Relocate Removals & Storage Ltd cannot and will not be held responsible for insurance cover of your items."
This statement was issued on the day I removed a single paper document. It does not excuse the damage sustained to my furniture while under their care. I entrusted this company with items of both personal and financial value, and they failed to meet even the most basic standards of safe storage.
The goods that were damaged had been intended for donation to the British Heart Foundation; instead, they are now only fit for disposal. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Relocate Removals Purfleet to anyone requiring secure storage for quality furniture or important possessions.
On a positive note, I must acknowledge that the staff themselves are polite and willing to assist. However, the facilities are highly commercial in nature and not suitable for members of the public seeking reliable storage for valuable household.

We take the care and security of our customers’ belongings very seriously, and we are disappointed that you feel we fell short of your expectations.
Our storage facility is not a public self-storage facility and is not open to the public. It is a purpose-built commercial storage operation where customers’ goods are securely stored within large storage crates, which are handled and stored using established procedures designed for this type of storage.
We would, however, like to clarify an important point regarding the insurance cover. As explained to you at the time, our liability and insurance arrangements apply while goods are in our care and are subject to the terms and conditions agreed at the time of the booking. Where goods are subsequently collected or transported by a third party or by the customer, our storage insurance does not extend to that transportation or handling. You signed a form confirming that you understood this when you attended the storage unit to collect your goods. This is separate from any concerns regarding the condition of the goods while they were stored with us.
We are sorry that you have reached the conclusion that the damage occurred as a result of your storage with us. We would have been happy to investigate any specific damage concerns had they been raised with us through the appropriate claims process, including reviewing the condition of the items and any available evidence.
We also appreciate your positive comments regarding our staff. Our team works hard to assist customers throughout what can often be a stressful moving process, and we are pleased that you found them polite and helpful.
We respect that you have been disappointed with your experience, but we do not believe it is fair to suggest that our facilities are generally unsuitable for the storage of household furniture. We remain committed to providing secure, professional removal and storage services to our customers.

This is the worst removal company ever…
This is the worst removal company ever used. Even though they give you a cheaper quote than other companies, items if bale go missing.
We had 4 items go missing from the time they loaded into their van to the time they offloaded the items.

Unfortunately, the details supplied in response to our request for information do not correspond with any customer, booking or removal we can identify in our records. We have also been unable to find any record that we carried out a move matching the circumstances described in this review.
We have therefore been unable to establish when the alleged move took place, who the booking was made with, or any details relating to the four items you claim were missing.
We are always happy to investigate genuine concerns and would welcome the opportunity to resolve any issue with a genuine customer. However, without being able to identify the booking or any record of providing the service described, we are unable to investigate these allegations further.
We would ask the reviewer to contact us directly with the correct booking details so that we can investigate this properly.

Unfortunately the removal people we had…
Unfortunately the removal people we had booked could not accommodate a last minute move and we were given Relocates details. They firstly sent one guy on his own the day before to move some really heavy bits (including a huge treadmill) and ended up having to tell him to stop as he was damaging the garage trying to move things.
Then on the actual removal day, in a rush to get done they did not dismantle a bed enough and tried to get down the stairs which badly scratched the bannister, walls and carpet. Was told straight away by the guy in charge they would 100% rectify and put it all down on the sheet at the end which I did. He could not apologise enough for their error.
I have since been in contact with the company who now tell me the cost to fix is under their excess amount so they will not do anything. Given this was not just accidental damage it was pure laziness on their part in rushing I do not think this is acceptable and once they finished the job they took no responsibility.
The boys working on the day worked hard so it’s a shame the company lets them down on when issues crop up. Would not recommend at all.

Regarding the damage to the walls and bannister, our team did acknowledge the marks and offered to assist with touch-ups on-site. However, when formalizing the claim, our insurance policy carries an excess that is equal to the estimated cost of repairs. Because the repair cost falls underneath our excess threshold, we left the decision up to you regarding how you wished to proceed.

The team of three were absolutely fabulous. They worked very well together. They definitely took the stress from me and in a very methodical and capable way dealt with the removal. I was amazed at how well they worked together and how professional they were. Looked after my furniture and possessions very well. Kept me informed of how they were planning to move. And when we arrived at the new home, they looked for instructions from me as to where I wanted the furniture and boxes to go. They were absolutely brilliant.

I would absolutely recommend this removal firm .
I recently used this removal company and was so happy with the service I received. Brian, Grant and Bobby took every moment of stress from me as they carefully emptied my house and filled the removal lorry. They reassured me that everything would arrive in one piece which it did. They were patient when my cat went missing at the last minute and put all of my belongings in my new home exactly as I had labelled on the boxes.
I have recommended them to my sister who is planning to move next year and feel sure that she will also receive the same quality of service and care that I did. Thank you so much for turning what I thought would be a stressful day into a breeze. The guys were friendly and professional and nothing was too much trouble.

Fantastic Service from Start to Finish
From start to finish we were totally impressed with the way in which the whole team from office staff to removal guys at Relocate Removal's handled our house move.
On the moving day the removal guys arrived and were polite, courteous and arrived on time and they made what could have been a stressful experience a lot less bother. The team of removal guys quickly and carefully loaded and unloaded their vans.
There was no damage to any of our possessions and they set out the furniture in each of the rooms in our new home.

We got several quotes & Relocate Removal’s price was very reasonable so we decided to go with them because they had been recommended to us by another happy customer.
The removal men were professional, friendly & helpful, they worked so hard to load all our possessions & furniture with care & respect. They honestly made the day as pain free as it could have been.
We had to wait several hours for the keys to be released but they never complained; they were really understanding.
All our boxes were delivered to the labels specified & furniture placed where I wanted. We had no breakages which is testament to the care they took.
I would recommend Relocate wholeheartedly to anyone needing a removal company. Moving day can be very stressful but when you have removal men that work with you it makes the day a whole lot easier.
