The transition to Dish sucks/ trying to reach customer service sucks. trying tio get my account # and port # so I can keep my number and move to another carrier is next to impossible, I guess this is there new business model. ENTRAPMENT!!!!
never had an issue while Republic Wireless was setting the tone. Would I recommend Dish ? NOT ON YOUR LIFE!!!!

I have been a Republic Wireless customer since 2012. The service was great until Dish acquired the company. Boost Infinite is the new carrier and the transfer is a nightmare! I have spent many hours and phone calls attempting to log in to the Boost Infinite app with no success.
I can't imagine a worse experience with a company.
I do Not recommend Republic Wireless!

Since Republic Wireless was bought out service has deteriorated. My voicemail doesn't work. I don't receive some texts, calls and emails. I can't use my cell number as contact because it shows as a land line. I've contacted NEW customer service multiple times for a fix to all these issues. They still aren't fixed. Today I was in queue waiting for customer service agent for 41 minutes and then call dropped. I'm currently switching to another cell company and Republic is even making THAT difficult. DO NOT USE REPUBLIC WIRELESS. I would give a zero star review if possible.

Got the new 5G SIM card and tried following the directions on the VERY glitchy website to set up the new system in my phone. When it came to the screen where you had to re-enter your billing information that’s when the “fun” started. Clicking on the billing info button was supposed to bring up a separate screen for your credit card info. It did not and after several tries..going back to the beginning and re-doing the steps, I gave up to try again the next day. And the next day I get an email that my service has been cancelled…no warning before hand and no reason for it. And I know I did not cancel anything and tried calling customer service but that was a joke too. Couldn’t get through to anyone and decided to just get another phone service. Republic never used to be like this but the buyout from DISH has completely messed it all up. If they don’t want my money there are other companies that do. A very angering and frustrating experience.

Complete crap since they were bought out by Dish. My wife and I have used them since they started years ago and they were a great reliable cheap phone plan. Then when then we're purchased by Dish, coverage decreased, customer service pretty much non existent, not able to send/receive texts from other phone carriers or even each other. We've used Motorola and Samsung phones with them and still have so many glitchy issues with no end in site or solutions from the very unhelpful and "hard to get a hold of" customer service division. Recently, when cancelling my wife's line they canceled my line also and have been unable to fix it for days. My job requires that I am on call for emergencies so this is very challenging.
I would strongly recommend researching other options before going with Dish (formally republic wireless). We know others who have their plan who left for all these reasons too. It is a bummer, because as a start up they were amazing, just simple and affordable.

1. Since it was my first time traveling overseas as a civilian, I called Republic Wireless a month before my vacation in Italy to inquire about the compatibility of my phone here in the states and Italy...that is, will my phone work in Italy. Republic stated yes. The phone didn't work, I had no data. Republic lied.

2. Called Republic Wireless while in Rome and they suggested I purchase a SIM card in Italy...which I did. In addition, Republic stated that I would be reimbursed for the SIM card. The card didn't work. I needed a code to unlock my phone. I called Republic for the code and they said they would send it to me within 5 days. Republic never sent me the code.

3. Called Republic when I arrived back in the states. They stated that they did send me the code (lied...I never got an email or text) and that I would not be reimbursed for the SIM card I purchased in Italy. Republic Wireless lied again!

Luckily, there were plenty of establishments in Italy that offered wireless access and that my daughters Mint Mobile phone worked seamlessly with the SIM card she purchased in Italy.

Republic Wireless was fantastic for me from 2015-2022. Good connection wherever I went. I paid the annual fee the last 2 years not realizing that in May 2022 when I paid $238.84 for the coming year, I would find myself without a compatible phone and no service the next month because they upgraded to 5G. When I called them alarmed that my phone was not working, they offered me one of two phones right then and there for either $70 or $90. I bought one and they credited my service for the month for $17 and continued to charge me over $21/month for the rest of the year. I complained about the charge in September because I had paid for an entire year already. They reimbursed me $129.87 and continued to charge me monthly. In June 2023 I switched to Mint Mobile and on July 1st was charged again by Republic Wireless. It’s easy to get into their plan, but impossible to get out. When they updated to 5G, apparently, I signed up for a whole new plan in spite of having just paid for a year, besides having to buy a phone I didn’t want. As long as I have a choice, I will never do business with Dish again.

Since Dish purchased service had been unreliable. Phone won't work sometimes on both cell and wireless. Today My phone was turned off. Republic customer service does not know why, but will get back to me once the figure it out. Then they will take 24 hours to turn back on. Will be moving to another cartier as soon as back on so number can be ported.

Before Dish it was fine. Now, forget it. It's garbage. Phone reception is lousy and not dependable. Terrible. Stay away.

I've had RW for several years and just found out about the Dish acquisition. I did not experience any changes in my service. Really, RW has been a delightfully boring company. I just get the same low bill every month. Service is what I paid for, consistently. I've had to buy extra data - for $5 - exactly twice in many years.

Steer clear. Dish network has ruined republic wireless since they acquired it. Like others, we've been members for over a decade. I just cancelled 5 accounts - Dish won't get another dime from us. Horrible customer service and expensive now. Many better options. So sad. We ended up moving to Mint - very happy so far.

I've had Republic Wireless going on almost 7 (~ 6½) years now.

Republic Wireless has been a wonderful for me since day 1! Automatic payments at decent prices.

And while paying ~ $25 for 1 gig is a lot these days, I realize that about 6 ½ years ago, along with my Motorola G4, this has been a pretty great deal!

The only reason why I didn't give it a 5 Star rating is because although I never had issues with my phone service stopping without me knowing it, Sadly when Republic Wireless was updated it's system from 4G to 5G, my Mom's service got cancelled!
Not only this, but they also said that it might take up to 2 weeks to get it fixed.
What?!!! 2 weeks?!!! 😮

Honestly, I can't remember if my Mom was able to get them to move the date up for giving her back her service or if she just decided right then to switch.

Regardless, it's sad to see a once wonderful service boot off their customers accidentally and then insist that their customers wait for 2 full weeks. 😞

If this had Not happened to my Mom, I would easily give this 5 Stars.

And as far as my phone and current plan is concerned, it's still holding up. I was fortunate enough to keep my service through this transitionary phase and my phone (Moto G4) Still miraculously works!

Again, except for this recent hiccup, Republic Wireless has been a pretty good company (in my opinion).

So I'm happy to give this a solid 4/5 Stars! 😊❤️

Had Republic Wireless since it went nationwide over ten years ago, and always liked it. Since Dish took over the service has been horrible. I was always buying extra data. They removed the wifi calling feature. Your account number is not on their app or your billing information, so when you decide to leave, which you will, you will have to call customer service to get your account number and a transfer pin number

Republic under Dishes dismal service rendered wifes phone useless after years of good service using pre- dish owned republic wireless, then they refused to reimburse the unuseable months left on her prepaid contract, then they required her to buy an extra month to not lose her phone number, phone support was many hours with dropped calls and hang ups from dish republics horrible service - to fix what they broke!!!, Worst customer experience we have ever had! Avoid this Dish induced, Mis managed, Nightmare of phone service. We were beta members, dish killed republic!

I was a Republic customer for many years and when I noticed I was suddenly having to purchase additional data almost every month I learned it was bought by Dish. I surmised there must be a connection and decided to jump ship. I had a feeling my good deal was going to end as soon as my yearly contract was up anyway. On a positive note, the phone number transfer to a new carrier was quick and painless.

I'm taking my mothers old advice on this one..
If you have nothing good to say, don't say anything at all.

I've had republic wireless for roughly 10 years. Dish has destroyed the customer experience. I can't think of a single aspect that has improved since Dish took over, every aspect of the service has declined - support, service, reliability - on top of the declining provisions the whole purpose of most of us choosing republic was the hybrid calling model. Dish has moved the service to conventional cellular and now moved to utilizing AT&T's towers which has been a poor move in my experience. I can not wait to leave the service and I am continually reminded of the mistake I make every single month that I don't move along.

Went through same problem last May trying to transfer my number from Republic Dish numerous calls and attempts but could never get the number transferred and I bought my own phone and number to Republic but they act like they own the number, then tried to get me to upgrade service, really, Republic was great until Dish took them over , worst phone service ever and since I won’t upgrade my network was downgraded to 3G so can’t make calls when Bluetooth is activated or outside the internet carrier cell tower areas so in other other words the service is useless and worthless 😤😤

After 3 years I decided to change carriers. I was paid through April 30 and to avoid getting billed for another month cancelled the service on the 26th. They turned off the phone even though I paid through the 30th and would not turn it back on so i lost 4 days to transfer and access my accounts. They are the worst phone company ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They Would NOT Give Me A Refund They Get A 1 Star Imma Sue Them Everbody That get Bad Service With Them They Do Not HELP SUE THEM IM VERY UPSET!!!!!
