Overall, our experience with Reykjavik Cars was excellent. The location was close to the airport, and they even sent us a map by email. Customer service was excellent; they always tried to help us as much as possible. We rented a 7-seater car for 6 people. The trunk space was a bit small, but that's because we didn't notice that it said only carry-on luggage fit, not medium-sized suitcases. When we arrived to pick up the rental car, they explained everything, including how the insurance worked and all the instructions to follow both when picking up and dropping off the car. I would definitely rent from this company again.

Easy to book, easy to drive and easy to return. What more could you want?

I had a great experience with Reykjavík Cars - Car Rental in Iceland during my trip to Iceland.
The pick-up and drop-off processes were both very quick and smooth, which made everything much easier, especially after a long journey. In my case, I had purchased full insurance, so at drop-off they did not carry out detailed checks, making the return fast and stress-free.
I noticed that the car I received had some visible marks on the bodywork. My impression is that vehicles with existing signs of wear are assigned to customers with full insurance, probably to avoid the risk of less careful drivers damaging brand-new cars, especially considering the rough conditions of many Icelandic roads.
I had originally booked a Toyota RAV4 AWD, but I was given a Kia Sportage Plug-in AWD instead. It turned out to be a very comfortable and pleasant car to drive, so I was definitely satisfied with the upgrade.
Finally, I didn’t need any assistance during the rental period, as everything went smoothly from start to finish.
Overall, a very positive experience that I would recommend.

I looked at a lot of different car rental places when i planned a trip and this one stood out as it looked like a well run family firm. It was. Really great communication before the rental and really good service when we arrived. There was a massive storm when we turned up (not their fault obvs!) but they were really calm and went above and beyond helping is collect the car and get on our way. I’d use them again in a heart beat.

We took a two-week road trip with a Rav-4 from Reykjavík Cars and we're still talking about it. The online booking process was very simple, and even though we hadn't taken out insurance, we were able to do so at the airport at 2 a.m. (we recommend taking it out, as Icelandic roads are very adventurous). The advice given is extensive and useful. We picked up the car at the airport and then dropped it off in Reykjavík, which was definitely the best option.

We rented a BMW X1 at Reykjavik Cars. We were provided a Kia Sorento from BLUE Cars and did the complete Route 1 Roundtrip including the Arctic Coast Way. We were very happy with the trip and with this car.
