Ruxley Manor Garden Centre Reviews 

Got injured by a forklift whilst popping in. They admitted liability. Emailed me £250 in vouchers, then cancelled them. Said their insurance company would deal with it and not to contact them - seriously, they hurt me, left me unable to lift a kettle and I had to take unpaid leave from work.
10 months on. I’ve received £0. Now forced to get solicitors involved!

Really awful company to deal with and no Safeguards in place to protect public. The man just drove into me without looking (actually he couldn’t see behind his pile of boxes) and he wasn’t cordoned off and no warning signs or cones saying forklift in progress! Doing what he was doing by the entrance during opening hours - shocking!

RUXLEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED BUT DONT CARE! They’ve treated me like dirt on their shoe! The man involved still has his job.

We ordered a garden table from Ruxley. It was faulty on arrival and the delivery was pretty horrendous from Furdeco. No idea why they don’t change delivery partners. It’s taken nearly five weeks to get a replacement which we’ve had to put together ourselves and it weighs 115kg so extremely heavy. There is no option for someone to out together for you which would be handy and worth paying for that service. We’re now stuck with the old table on our garden as it’s too heavy for me and my husband to move and I’ve already hurt my back by having to move it to where it is. I now can’t get someone to collect asap and their customer seventeen aren’t overly helpful. I was quite impressed with their website and thought they were a good company. I will never be purchasing from them again and will definitely not recommend them to anyone.

I am extremely disappointed with the handling of my refund.
I cancelled my order before delivery and contacted the courier, who confirmed on 24 July that the item would not be delivered to me and would be returned to the retailer. I also have written confirmation of this.
On 27 July, I received an email from the company confirming: “We have received your product back. We are issuing a full refund, please allow 3–5 working days for this to process.”
When I chased again on Monday, I was told that my refund would be processed within 2 days.
However, after chasing again, I have now been told that they are still waiting for the item to be returned — which completely contradicts the previous information I was given.
I have now been given multiple timescales and conflicting explanations, and I am still waiting for my £299 REFUND!!

I purchased some garden storage online which had a damaged panel which was quickly replaced. I found the service and product quality to be excellent.

I ordered a garden bar set which arrived promptly and was packaged really well. However, upon opening I noticed that one of the chairs was damaged. The after sales service I received from Harlie was fantastic and we reached an outcome that both parties were happy with very quickly and efficiently. I would have no hesitation in ordering from this company again.

I bought a set of plug plants, they all died despite being kept in appropriate conditions. Also bought an erysimum as I already have one of these which has thrived in my garden (purchase from another garden centre). This has also died. Ruxley seem to care more about making millions on "non garden products" rather than selling healthy plants. I don't know how they won last year's best garden centre award!. I will be buying my plants from elsewhere in the future. Looking at trustpilot reviews, they obviously don't respond to negative comments so that's another reason to avoid, as they are not listening to customer complaints

Always a pleasant experience at Ruxley, such a great selection of plants, pots etc. Very happy with Mulberry Tree restaurant, got our favourite chips back rather than the skin on fries last visit. Thanks

DO NOT visit The Mulberry Tree Restaurant. Overpriced food and I wish I had not bothered.

I ordered two sausage baps, stale dry bread, one dab of butter and gritty small lukewarm sausages.

If I could give a zero star I would. I complained and Jo the restaurant manager refused to refund as the items were consumed, unfortunately considering there was no real option than to starve we had to bear it.

Lovely garden centre really enjoyed the cafe and even brought some lovely roses lovely staff, will be back soon recommend a visit especially on a sunny day like today

The fountain was the cheapest on line and I was initially put off by the reviews posted here but credit where credit is due it arrived very quickly, well packaged and perfect.

Looked great on line so drove an hour to visit. Oversold! But the main problem is the restaurant. Ordered two ploughman’s lunches. What was delivered did not include the coronation chicken as listed on the menu. Staff were rude. Then the salad- well there’s nothing like a nice crisp fresh salad sadly this was nothing like a fresh or crisp salad. The leaves were well browned around the edges - some completely rotten. Sadly I ordered on their online system and did not request an invoice otherwise I’d complain to the management. Take a packed lunch if you’re visiting.

Actually was in 2024 but i would just like to say . I purchased a great big gammon and a large piece of beef. Quite expensive but both unedible. I complained they replied and promised me they would get back to me concernig my wasted trip and cost. But a year later and still nothing

I went to the start of the sale and was very disappointed.
Seems they shop on Temu. 90% very over priced tacky stuff.
Went to pay and the tills were saying wrong prices with everything. Chaos!
The manager Jo was extremely rude. Rolling eyes and demanding we make choices then and there. Even accused someone of stealing. What an embarrassment she was. No self control.
Sandra the cash lady was really trying her best. Even apologised for Jo behaviour.
Overall. Nice but extremely expensive place. With bad customer services

Initially had a nice walk around and a coffee in the cafe. A lady working on the shop floor was very helpful with pricing an item. Unfortunately at the tills two girls that were supposed to be serving were talking about their height and laughing. They paid minimal attention to us, have little regard for people’s money. I had to take my own receipt while they kept talking to each other. When we got back to the car we had an item missing which we had to go back and get. It would have been better if they had not been there. They need more customer training and respect for their customers.

Whilst unfortunately the Twig Tree I ordered was defective and had to be returned, the customer after care was excellent. Charlotte replied promptly to my initial email. She quickly raised a job with DHL to pick it up. DHL turned out to be a nightmare as they didn’t show and in the end Charlotte arranged a pre paid label for me to return it via a parcel drop off store. Charlotte also emailed me to advise that my refund had been initiated. Due to the aftercare and great communication, I would highly recommend this company.

If you’re considering fish and chips at Ruxley Manor, don’t bother. The fish I was served was watery, tasteless, and had all the hallmarks of being cooked from frozen. At £14.99, it felt like a complete waste of money. What makes it worse is I expected better from Ruxley Manor, as I’ve always thought of it as somewhere offering good quality food. Based on this experience, I won’t be ordering it again.

The food hall doesn’t want customers. Staff on deli counter refused to serve us cooked meats at 16.30, a whole hour before the shop shut, because the slicer had already been disinfected ready for the next day. So we didn’t buy anything at all - and we would have bought a lot. We are telling everybody we know, and every review site out there - avoid this place at all costs. This shop doesn’t want to serve customers, doesn’t want your money, and has no interest in doing business full stop. We did give Customer Services the chance to provide a remedy before leaving the store, but they weren’t interested. AVOID!

Staff very helpful and friendly, explained everything. Also willing to put themselves out that extra mile to help out.

Nice place to visit for your gardening needs, good food & drink aswel! Just need more Tesla fast charging stations to get that 5 star treatment guys! Too often im unable to charge my vehicle as its fully loaded! Have a word with Tesla please get more installed, plenty space over there!

Poor quality plants. Bought 4 cucumbers, 2 died. Bought 10 F1 sweet corn Nine turn out to be baby corn. My friend bought baby corn and ended up with large corn. When raised with customer service they don't care. Should be boycotted for poor performance. Waste of money.
