Safestore - Merry Hill Reviews 

We used Safestore Merry Hill for a short 8 week storage. We cleared the space after 7 weeks, before the half price offer finished ( it applied for 2 months). However, we were then informed we had to pay for another month at full price because apparently 14 days notice is required. Why? Safe store can now rent out the vacated unit for the month we paid for. To top it all we received an aggressive, threatening letter the very same day we vacated demanding payment even though a direct debit was set up at the start. Be very, very wary of using this facility.

I went into Safestore Merry Hill earlier today to send a DHL parcel overseas.
I didn’t understand the process at all but was helped by Travis and Kelly so that it could be sent off.
They were fantastic - if I could give them
more stars I would!

We used Safestore in Dudley, Merry hill when we broke our chain in our home move. They were fantastic as they were quick and effective to find us a suitable storage container for our home move, and flexible when we needed to make changes. The staff were always helpful when we called up to give notice, but then extend again due to delays with our home transaction. They provided flexible 4-week roll over which was easily switched to a 1-week roll over contract when we did get a completion day. Very happy with the service and saved us so much hassle.

I’m shocked and appalled by this company!! I did on line quote then staff on the phone convinced me I didn’t need a unit this big even though I put all items in , I even checked multiple times on the phone , so moving date my removal team took half my stuff to tell me there was no more room after spending 2 hours filling the unit ! It was way off !! So now you’re charging me for another unit this is completely unfair you staff told me I didn’t need a bigger one ! If I didn’t have to pay removels I’d have taken it all out and gone else where disgusting customer services will never use again or recommend

The staff at Merry Hill made the process incredibly easy. All of them were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Thanks all.

Awful service gates not working, lift out of use unable to take DD on date agreed staff really don't care as long as they get your money they are not interested in being helpful !

Really good value for money with their half price for two months. Couldn't find storage cheaper. Felt clean, staff were helpful. Only begrudge is the cost of the padlock. Remember to buy your own from elsewhere in advance!

How many times does their protocol say they have to contact someone following a quote request before they stop? I wanted a quote ONLY for now with no intent to use services just yet but they make you put your contact details to retrieve it. I expected maybe one call because I know that's how companies trap you but they've called me at least twice a week since I put in the request last month and followed up with an email every time. It's getting really irritating and putting me off ever using the service in the future. Extra stars just because I'm not rating from the POV of a paying customer. Just a peed off prospective one. Please leave me alone until I reach out to you and stop begging for my money.

Lied about storage size, contacted from sales with a great offer beating other quotes, signed contract for the said 150sq ft for 12 months, having then paid in advance, moved in large amount of stuff spending a day,
Then realised shelves wouldn't fit so got a measure to find it was only 128 sqft,
Was shocked had to get 3 people to confirm as couldn't belive they would do this knowing I needed and paid the size for business storage,
When I told staff member lee he was rude and sales driven to the issue pushing I have another unit in an area I didn't want and already had contracts waiting for me to sign or again sign a new fasle contract to pay a weeks money at the 150sqft in order to stay long enough to move out the wrong sized one, pointed out I'm not signing lies for a to small room I don't want which he said he couldn't even correct it to the factual 128sqft.

Was not apologetic and was around 6pm at night, he said I would have to be out by 8pm to avoid the fee of nearly £100 and kept pacing out the office to speak about it to his manager whom I was told said the same. He was also going to take the cost off my original card payment and only partial refund. There was a lady being nice working there trying to offer soloution but she was quickly shut down by the aggressive guys remedies.
I was there with a disabled 12 year old that needs regular medication and routine and 4 year old both shouldn't of been there at these times but no choice but to Try to resolve, it had taken hours to move in using a trailer and and impossible task to be out in 2. I had the inconvience of having a day wasted, having to return plus move to a new provider at the real size and that's a big difference plus 24 hrs.
Had to make several complaints to head office for them to go back to regional manager when finally the regional manager agreed to give Me a few days to move out, no apologies about there mistake and the guy in the store where it happened (merry hill) Lee was attitude from the start after his failed sales some month's earlier I was being served by someone else. He asked my name, then brought it up on there computer that I had Internet searched previously to which he called to close a sale at the time I didn't go with them, I had enquired which was irrevelant to this sign up and made it uncomfortable from day 1. Also didn't give permission to store my details!!!
Thankfully the 12 month contract was void, there explanation was the sizes are not acurate (which they tell u are at sign up) they go by the nearest size they advertise by so beware your getting what you paid for and they sold you.
It will void a contract if wrong and not stated as consumer rights told me. Mis-sold
Following this up with a formal complaint and consumer rights said they couldn't keep my money from my original payment off my card which they was going to do for the charge to vacate.
Will never use again, never recommend and always tell people not to use if asked.
Pushy sales and prob being a woman I didn't realise how wrong the size was but it made a big difference to organising shelving to fit
Read people getting 2nd unit as there's not big enough....
Always measure and check what your getting

Same was outstandingly customer service oriented from the get go. His knowledge and expertise with storage was excellent. He helped guide us for a smooth on both entry into and exit from the the storage facility and was always on point. The team at Merry Hill are a friendly and supportive bunch, many thanks to you all!

We used the merry hill safe store and the experience was good. The staff were friendly and helpful bar 1 who I'm not sure why his employed he never looked like he didn't do anything and left me waiting and waiting to change my DD details. The other person in the office was already dealing with someone yet ended up dealing with us both. He was fantastic I think his name was Leeroy. He is definitely an asset always smiling and very helpful. The place was such a good set up. Once you have your unit you get left alone, you can come and go as you please. You get your invoice emailed once a month so you know where you stand. Was so easy to end the contract and the communication from then when I did need them was fab. Would recommend and if I need storage again I would use again.
