Extremely Frustrated – Very Unprofessional Experience

We purchased an R630 server from this company previously without issue. Later, we ordered an R740. When we received the shipment and opened the box, they shipped the wrong server again. We coordinated with them, explained the issue, and requested a complete replacement. They asked us to return it so they could replace it.

Time is money. I told them no problem, and asked them to send us the RAM, SSD, and x Intel Xeon Gold 6132 - 2.60GHz 14 Core ×1. But when the replacement finally arrived, the Intel Xeon Gold CPU was missing from the box. (Screenshot of our data center attached.)

At the same time, we placed another order for a server with an EPYC processor. After payment, they accused our order of being fraudulent. We offered to provide ID, transaction statements, or any proof they needed. Their response: “We cannot refund, we do not need proof, and we will not reply further.” They completely stopped communicating.

This company is fraudulent and untrustworthy.

Recommendation: Avoid this company entirely. If you are a legitimate business, buy from a reliable, trustworthy server provider.

Got a PowerEdge server on sale and was delivered in a week. Everything worked great and I got a good price for it.

Warning: should the customer pay for this vendor's mistakes?

I purchased a PowerEdge server on eBay from SaveMyServer over the weekend. My card was charged and I received my confirmation. So, bought daughter cards, additional drives, a bezel, rack rails, drive caddies, etc. basically whatever was missing to make a pretty beefy (and good looking) server.

Early this afternoon, SaveMyServer cancelled my order because "a large pricing error on some of the variations of this listing". Instead of docking the pay of whoever listed this item, these clowns cancelled my order citing "Out of stock or damaged".

I've taken this up with E-Bay and, to their credit, they are investigating what's consider a "fraudulent cancellation".

As someone who has owned an IT business for the last 30+ years, mistakes happen. IT is an ever-changing field. However, NEVER have I placed the burden of a mistake/error on a potential customer or client when that error originated inside my organization. If this is how this how an organization handles its internal mistakes, is it wrong for me to recommend that serious consultants and hobbyists stay away from SaveMyServer?

Company is great to deal with. when you are buying used servers you will always have little thing come up, just the nature of the beast but these guys have so far been 100% on point with any warrenty and replacement parts and finding solutions to problems.
