Terrible service from Stompa

We also ordered 2 mattresses on 23rd August and was made aware that delivery times were affected by COVID a and would take *20 days maximum* which is understandable due to the current pandemic.

About 3 weeks later, we received an email update that there were further 3 weeks delays. This was frustrating, but again we accepted as the pandemic has not improved and it would have taken another 3 weeks to get one from elsewhere.

4 weeks later (2nd October) I emailed them for an update and was informed that they will dispatch my order on a next day courier service by the end of next week so I left it at that.

A week and a half later now, I have just received another email informing me of further delay at least a period of several more weeks!!!

I agree with the other review left by another customer that if they had been honest and told us that there were 'unprecedented delays' from the beginning and that delivery date could not be confirmed we could have asked for a refund and sorted an alternative.

Subsequently if they had told us when we emailed that there were 'unprecedented delays' and that they couldn't have deliver the mattresses by the end of week as they promised, we could have asked for a refund.

They should have an honest lead time when communicating with their customers or if an order can not be fulfilled then inform the customer and refund in full instead of messing them about.

They are misleading their customers. Terrible service.

DO NOT BUY A MATTRESS FROM THEM, THEY ARE LIARS!

We ordered a mattress on 24th August and was made aware that delivery times were affected by COVID a and would take *20 days maximum*, a little long for items that were IN STOCK according to the website, but these are exceptional times, so we were accepting.

About 2 weeks later, we called for an update and were told they were to be delivered on W/C 21st September. This was out of our delivery ‘window’ which was frustrating, but again we accepted as by this point, it would have taken another 3 weeks to get one from elsewhere.

5 days before we were due to receive our mattress, we received an email saying that there were ‘unprecedented delays in the manufacturing process’ and our order would take another 3 WEEKS.

For a mattress they say is IN STOCK which is A LIE.

If the mattresses we're out of stock, we would have shopped elsewhere.

If they had told us when we placed the order ON THE 24TH AUGUST that there were 'unprecedented delays' we could have asked for a refund and sorted an alternative.

This is a mattress for a new bed for our 4 year old daughter. A child. It's her they are messing about. Shameful.

They should have an honest lead time posted on their website.

They should not claim to have items in stock when they are not.

They are purposefully misleading customers.

Bought the stompa radius desk looks ok…

Bought the stompa radius desk looks ok but all made out of chip board. The holes for the oak doors to pick up on were that bad the doors just fell off. The desk it self had chips in each corner. This being still in packet. For such an expensive children’s desk you would expect the quality to be excellent. Yet being made out of chip board it definitely isn’t. My little girl was very disappointed. Having to return the desk for a full refund. Now no desk to do home work😡 with no choice in case the oak doors fell of with the potential of breaking her hands.

Good first impressions

After a poor purchase which we had to return and a lot of browsing around, we decided to order the classic bunk bed with trundle. I emailed them enquiring about the 10 percent discount that was on the top banner, the link on which was not working for me. I got a reply very quickly.

As this was due to us moving homes, I also asked them if they could deliver it a bit sooner. I was surprised to get a call from the delivery people just a few days after.

The bed itself looks lovely enough and feels very sturdy which was the priority for us. Assembly was easy without too many parts to fiddle with and well thought out - they even have a spacer to help you place the slats evenly. One thing I wish were included is guardrails on the bottom bunk which I will have to get from somewhere else. (Minus half star)

One of the headboards also came with a small crack.

Absolutely 5 star from beginning to…

Absolutely 5 star from beginning to end. We purchased a mid sleeper from Stompa that included slide out futon and desk. We also opted for the Stompa air pocket mattress as an add on.
We purchased the bed direct from Stompa via their clearance site. The bed should normally retail for around £1200 with mattress we paid £800.
Due to Covid Stompa's installation service (£100) was unavailable so we opted to do it ourselves.
Stompa said it would take 2-3 weeks it was more like 3-4 but due to covid I would say this was reasonable. A couple of days before delivery we recieved an email giving us a date and a time slot. The bed arrived on the day within the time slot.
The guy who delivered it was really friendly and turns out in normal times he would do the £100 installation. He told us what each box contained (there were 7 boxes) and offered a few really helpful tips regarding installations.
I presumed it would be a 2 person job so had arranged for some help. As we started to unpack the bed I was impressed with the initial impression of the quality of the product. The instructions were good, well explained and easy to follow. If you have put flat pack furniture together before you should be able to assemble this fairly easily. You will need small pin type hammer, rubber hammer if you have one, flat head screwdriver and a pozi screwdriver (PZ1 would be great but PZ2 will also do). I would recomend a ratchet screwdriver, electric screwdriver or even impact driver for the slats (hand room is at a premium on the slats).
It took 2 fairly experienced DIYers 5 hours to complete and all went smoothly. If I bought another bed I would pay the £100 for fitting and be happy.
Taking everything in to consideration the amazing quality, the good customer service, ease of installation even if we paid full retail £1200 I would be more than happy with bed.

It is hard to write an awful review because the resolve from Jamie Mosley was excellent.
Despite the bed being badly damaged all over and when I called the customer services number was greater by an answer phone message “we are currently unable to hear you moan!” I thought I would be returning the product so I called the normal number and Jamie’s resolve was swift and decisive a real asset compared with the rest of my experience Jamie ***** Stompa *

What amazing customer service!

What amazing customer service!

Firstly, just to say that their beds are amazing, and with customer service to match!

Had my bed flat packed to transport, lost all the fixings, all it took was one phone call to them and they packaged and sent me (same day) all the fixings that I needed. They even emailed me pdf of assembly instructions.

No questions asked, immediate response and at no cost to me. Brilliant!
