From the very start Tamar caravans staff having been friendly, informative and very helpful. Dorian was the first person we met at Tamar and he left a really good impression with us and made us feel we were choosing a good company. Thank you Dorian. We had to wait just over 3 months to get our caravan but it was well worth the wait. The day came to pick our caravan up and it was presented brilliantly nice and clean it even had a welcome message on it. We were then given a fantastic handover from in which again was brilliant, very friendly and informed I enjoyed the experience thank you Ian. Tamar have since been in touch to see if all is well, very much appreciated. I am very happy with this company so far and would highly recommend. Thanks again Tamar Caravans.

Being newcomers to the camper van world, it was so refreshing to find a company with a customer focused team.
Ian spent most of the day with us, in an honest, informative & relaxed way that immediately made us feel at home.Ian enabled us to understand the different options, took time to listen to the issues that were important to us & most importantly no pressure to purchase / make decisions.

I recently purchased a Campervan from Tamar caravans and I have to say what a great team they are. When I first viewed the camper they were not pushy or trying to sell it to me. Instead they answered my questions and gave the advice I needed to let me make my own mind up. The whole process from start to finish was excellent. My Wife and I thought you guys and girls were brilliant,so we brought a caravan. Many thanks to Dorian and Ian and when you are down this way, pop in,you won't be disappointed

There are three occasions in the past 6 weeks where they obviously made enough money to turn away business via overpricing or non response to requests. Firstly we were interested in purchasing a new motor home the salesman did not seem interested and after taking our details he advised us that he would get back to us (still waiting) we ended purchasing one from Marquis who were very interested in selling to us. Secondly we asked for a quote on fitting a tow bar to our new motor home they quoted between £1300 and £1500 which seemed ludicrous we ended up paying £725. Lastly I asked for a quote for a wind out awning they quoted £1700 but could be more after inspection of the vehicle, I was not convinced the two employees were confident on what they were quoting on. We ended up paying £1290 and that was with a special bracket that was required and would not have fell within their £1700 original quote so would have ended up around £2000. The quote was for 6 hours labour unlike the 3 hours labour from our other quotes we had. We have used them in the past but not any more btw you lossed approx 75k in business.

We recently purchased a caravan from Tamar Caravans, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. A special thanks to Matt and Dorian for their professional yet friendly approach—they were always ready to answer our numerous questions and address any concerns.

What really stood out was the extra mile they went to ensure our confidence in their product. An engineer even came in specifically to confirm that the floor was of smart HT construction. This level of service was unparalleled compared to other local competitors we had interacted with.

Our experience at Tamar Caravans was a stark contrast to other dealers in the area. For instance, our previous caravan from another local dealer had significant issues with floor rot, which we were told was "normal" after purchase—a claim that left us quite dissatisfied.

Outstanding customer service is the only way to describe it!
From the moment we entered TCC we knew it was the right place to buy our first caravan!

The buying process was very simple and it was a pleasure to deal with Dorian who went above and beyond, he provided brilliant advice and exceptional customer service.

At handover day we had a very warm welcome by the staff. Completing our handover was Ian who provided us with an in-depth tour of our new to us Swift Alpine 2. Ian is extremely knowledgeable and has a great way of explaining how things work on the caravan, not to mention his very handy YouTube videos as a recap on the Tamar YouTube account.

Both Ian and Dorian along with the rest of the team are a credit to the family company. We look forward to visiting the accessories shop and getting our caravan serviced at Tamar Caravan Centre in the future. Top marks all round.

Excellent start to finish. They are knowledgable, friendly and helpful. Matt went out of his way to help us find the perfect second hand caravan that was perfect for our needs. He didn’t rush us, never put any pressure on us and was honest and enthusiastic about all our (daft!) questions and requirements.

Their handover at the point of picking up the caravan was really thorough and very helpful. They smoothly and easily swapped the ball thing on our tow bar so it was ready for use and had the electrical converter we needed. We are not experience caravaners and Matt explained everything from the beginning and using normal person words and never made us feel dumb!

I can’t recommend them highly enough - they really were excellent.

In the 90,s we bought two SWIFT CARAVANS and a BESSECARR Motorhome from new. All were returned as faulty for full refunds. We were very reluctant to buy SWIFT products ever again. Our local dealership Tamar Caravans were advertising SWIFT products. We have since bought two new SWIFT caravans from them and YES the dealership is so vital. SWIFT products look good and are certainly improving. Our most recent purchase a Mayflower 580 has developed a number of faults all Warranty issues over the last 18 months, minor-ish nothing serious. How comforting to have Tamar Caravans as our local dealership. They are ABSOLUTELY SUPERB to deal with in our opinion!
Never a quibble where there is an issue and work carried out promptly and efficiently! The staff there make a massive difference from Ian Phil Dorian and Naomi with others too numerous to mention. It is so reassuring that they are there to assist when something does go wrong. We feel very well supported Thank you Tamar Caravan Centre. Great advice great service and always helpful.

Great service from the sales team. There communication was excellent and advice given.

We purchased a VW camper in April , when we collected they pointed out an issue with the roof seal, we were told it was on order and they would contact us when it arrived. After a month I rang them. Anyway long story short it was fitted yesterday.
We had discovered the water pump was also not working, this was also repaired yesterday. After myself being concerned and upset, yesterday they went above and beyond to correct all my concerns and carry out the work needed so we are able to use the van. I want to say a massive thank you to Jason in servicing and Matt for going through bits with us, we had forgotten how to do. You both helped us.

Excellent service & flexibility, thank you Tamar. I used Tamar to fit a tow bar, I had to reschedule 3 times, the last time when I was actually onsite and hadn’t realized it was a 4h job that clashed with a business meeting. When they eventually fitted they did everything perfectly with a good briefing afterwards.

My experience was extremely positive, the staff made a real effort to help. Also a well organized and impressive facility.

Absolutely terrible experience with appalling customer service. We ordered a new caravan and awning plus other accessories as they seemed really friendly and helpful....until the deposit was paid, then they became almost impossible to contact by telephone and emails were simply ignored. Delivery was delayed by several weeks and we were not updated at all...they did not even bother to inform us us when it did eventually arrive and several items ordered with the caravan never arrived. After taking delivery and siting the caravan on a seasonal pitch we discovered the caravan was very poorly finished internally, had an absolutely filthy roof and was riddled with a multitude of minor faults which should have been identified and rectified by the pre delivery inspection and full valet they supposedly carried out. Tamar would accept no responsibility for the state of the caravan and expected us to return it to them and leave it there for at least a week for them to inspect it (again!) at our own expense and considerable inconvenience. Having lost all confidence in them this was not something I was prepared to do. Our local dealer is much more customer focussed and offers site visits for warranty work to caravans sited on seasonal pitches. CHECK YOUR CARAVAN THOROUGHLY BEFORE ACCEPTING IT! Or better still go elsewhere.

Our whole experience with Tamar has been incredibly disappointing. We purchased our caravan last September, collection was delayed by weeks meaning we missed our first planned trip.
We then went away at Easter and the door lock broke. Pretty much told nothing can be done apart from order the parts. So we’re stuck with a caravan that we can now no longer secure.
Now nearly august and still no sign of the parts.

After raising an official complaint with the sales director on the 6th of July, they said they’d look into the hold up, chase it up and see what could be done.

Still no contact as of 26th. Just under 3 weeks.

Caravan is coming up due a service for warranty - it’s not like it’s been anywhere.

Long story short, spent a lot on a caravan, can’t use it, they don’t bother getting back to you.

Tamar Caravan Centre have only gone done it again. Superb service with super superb customer service.
Our Swift Mayflower 580 Caravan has just had her first service at Tamar Caravan Centre... From the moment we dropped her off and left in the very capable hands of the lovely Naomi, to the point we collected her today from the equally capable and very friendly Jason, everything has just been smooth, effortless and just right.
The service engineer Phill Goodall was very thorough and sorted a few little teething issues.
Communication was excellent with updates.
Nothing seems to be to much trouble.
We even got to see the awesome Ian who was a key factor of why purchased our Mayflower a year ago from Tamar Caravan Centre..

Seriously... Tamar Caravan Centre are absolutely amazing.
100% recommend... we won't go anywhere else!!!!
