Dear Julia,
Thank you for your feedback.
Having carefully reviewed our clinical records, this relates to a case from 2018, approximately seven years ago. Given the significant passage of time, it is difficult to reconcile the details of this review with the contemporaneous medical and communication records.
Your cat was initially assessed in early 2018, at which time a dental procedure was recommended. You returned several months later for reassessment, at which point the recommendation for treatment remained and an updated estimate was provided to reflect the likely extent of dental work required which was discussed with you in advance, including in the context of arranging finance, to help you avoid unexpected costs.
On the day of the procedure, pre-anaesthetic checks identified findings which meant it was not safe or appropriate to proceed. In line with standard veterinary practice, the procedure was therefore postponed in your cat’s best interests, and further investigations were recommended and carried out with your consent.
Throughout this period, all discussions were conducted clearly and in your preferred language , including extensive written correspondence, detailed estimates, and signed consent documentation. A Portuguese-speaking veterinary surgeon was available to ensure clear understanding of all aspects of your cat’s care. These records reflect ongoing communication regarding investigations, treatment options, and associated costs.
Any queries raised at the time were addressed, including a goodwill adjustment where appropriate.
We note that no concerns were raised with the clinical team at the time, despite ongoing communication.
While we fully respect your perspective, the description provided in this review does not align with the documented records or the communication that took place at the time.
We remain proud to have supported many clients and patients over the years, and our consistently positive feedback reflects our commitment to high standards of care, transparency, and communication.
Kind Regards,
Dr Jeremy and The London Cat Clinic Team
