From the beginning to the end, I have been so looked after. Caroline and Nula at the Northampton office are so warm and welcoming. Then my surgeon Professor Sandip Hindochi put me at ease immediately. My stay at the Fitzroy Hospital, I was so looked after by Owen on arrival, then the anaesthetist (I am sorry to not have logged his name) was so clever at making me relax! It's only afterwards I realised he had done that so well. And then the absolutely wonderful nurses throughout the night, specifically Sitan and Jean were so lovely. I know there was another Doctor who came along in the early hours who was so kind, I think Doctor Nora. And then the brilliant nurse Georgina at Northampton needs a shout out for coming in on her day off because I needed help taking off some tape. She didnt even mention it was her day off, I only found that out by mistake when I called back later to ask her something and was told. So the experience has been seamless and even an out of hours nurse I spoke to was just brilliant. And the results of my surgery are way beyond my expectations. I am now a couple of months in from the surgery and I have found a new level of confidence, as well as my posture has already changed. Thank you to everyone at the Private Clinic Northampton and London.

I visited the Private Clinic about 16 years ago (around 2010) to see Dr Dynesh Rittoo about a visible pulse I had near my mouth, caused by a nurse who had caused trauma to an artery after injecting filler in the nasolabial folds. He was confident he could solve the problem by injecting sclerotherapy foam into the artery. I remember being surprised about this as I had read that this was used for veins, not arteries but I was just glad that the problem might be solved as I was very self-conscious about it.

Dr Ritto tried to inject the artery but found it difficult to hit the right spot as the pulse was obviously moving all the time. He did however, inject some prominent arteries in my forehead which were a continuation of the artery that was pulsating. My forehead was very swollen but it went down after a week but there was no difference to the visible pulse. I went back, he did it again, more swelling- around the eyes too-people at work thought I'd had botox- but no result. The third time, there was a lot of swelling and I remember standing outside and my body was moving slightly- swaying- even though I was standing still. I couldn't stand perfectly still anymore without moving slightly and I had a heavy feeling in my head. when I went back, I told him about this and he said it wasn't possible that it had happened from the injection. He said he had done all he could do and it had improved a bit and that was it. I was left without any help.

Now I still had the visible pulse but on top of that and much worse was the feeling that I was always off-balance and dealing with this heavy feeling inside my head like a wave building up and coming down again. I felt like something had taken over my body and no one could help me. My anxiety grew. I went to the doctors and eventually saw a specialist who gave me a scan. there was nothing seriously wrong with me- thank God- but they noted I was slightly off-balance. There was no solution to the problem and I had to learn to live with it. I'm a teacher and in-between teaching, my mind would go back to this feeling in my body obsessively and no one understood. I went off sick with stress and eventually, left my job. I had to start again and it took a while to get used to this new state.

I left behind any thought of trying to fix the pulsation in my face as it had left me with a much worse problem and there didn't seem to be any solution anyway. Almost 15 years later, I decided to look online to see if anyone had ever had my problem and written about it and I found one report on Realself of a woman who had a visible pulse in the same area as me but it had started spontaneously. She had written about it 10 years previously and I couldn't get in touch with her but seeing this made me feel less alone. I then came across a plastic surgeon in America called Dr Eppley who had photos of someone with a visible pulsation in the same place as me and had tied off their artery and solved the problem. I got in touch and he told me he had performed this procedure about 3 times. It wasn't much but he was the only one I had ever heard of to do this. I went to see him, he ligated the artery and solved that problem for me after almost 20 years! I was very happy. What is the point of writing about this part? Well, he was amazed to hear that someone (Dr Rittoo) had injected an artery with sclerotherapy foam. He said it was basic textbook medicine that you only do that with veins. Even I, with a layman's knowledge of sclerotherapy, had noticed that it was only written about in relation to veins but I trusted Dr Ritto as he was an expert.

Of course, he will deny this ever happened but I am left with the consequences of his actions. If only, I had never seen him, I would not feel the physical consequences of his actions. In the beginning I felt trapped in my own body and although there has been no change, I have learnt to live with it. Dr Ritto seemed like he was a nice man and I'm sure he believed what he was doing could help me but he should have known that this procedure was not suitable for the arteries. It happened after the third time I had seen him. He could have stopped before then seeing how much swelling I had but he didn't. When I looked him up, I saw he was still working for the Private Clinic and also there was an article about him (from 2014) being 1 of 3 surgeons that had a much higher than average mortality rate. Dr Eppley thought I might have had a ministroke but couldn't be sure of it so maybe I'm lucky it wasn't worse.

So, here is my review about 15 years after my appointment.
I think you will remember me, Dr Ritto. I understand you may have felt worried when I came back and told you about what had happened and just wanted to get rid of me, but it wasn't compassionate. There were no consequences for you but the consequences for me will last all my life.
Think about this and me sometimes.

My experience with The Private Clinic has been fantastic from start to finish.
For the procedure I wanted, I was feeling both very nervous and excited. It was something I had been thinking about for a very long time, so I knew it was incredibly important that I chose a clinic and a team I could really trust. After reading lots of positive reviews, I decided to book a consultation with The Private Clinic.
Before my consultation, Wanda, the Clinic Manager, called me and we had a lovely conversation about why I wanted the procedure and what I was hoping to achieve. She immediately put my mind at ease and made me feel comfortable about the whole process.
When I arrived at The Private Clinic for my consultation, I instantly felt at ease. Wanda and the team were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. I explained exactly what I wanted, and they listened to me and stayed true to my wishes throughout. After the consultation, I felt confident enough to go ahead and book my surgery.
On the day of my surgery, I was, of course, very excited but also very nervous. We arrived in London with plenty of time and found the clinic really easily from the tube station, which was another worry ticked off the list!
Once we arrived at the clinic and checked in, I only had a short wait before I was called through for all my pre-surgery checks. When it was time for my surgery, I felt really at ease after meeting members of the team during my observations. Everyone was reassuring, kind and professional.
After surgery, I was made to feel that nothing was too much trouble. I had food and drinks waiting for me when I came round, and I never felt pressured to leave the clinic until I was ready.
The aftercare has also been fantastic. The following day, I received a check-in call from a nurse, who explained that if I needed anything, I could call and someone would be available throughout the weekend.
A week after surgery, I returned to the clinic for a dressing change. I was a little unsure about what would happen next, but I emailed Wanda and, as always, she was incredibly helpful and explained everything clearly. The following week, I had a call with a nurse who talked me through the next steps, including dressing changes, and again, she was very helpful and reassuring.
Before my six-week check-up, I started experiencing some pain, so I contacted Wanda. She was extremely helpful, and after I sent some photos over, she reassured me that everything appeared to be fine. She also offered to arrange an appointment with a nurse if I was worried, which was very reassuring.
When my six-week appointment arrived, I was checked over by my surgeon, who was very happy with my progress. I was offered another appointment in three months, but I opted for a video consultation instead to save me the journey.
Overall, my experience with The Private Clinic has been amazing from beginning to end. From my first conversation with Wanda, through the consultation, surgery and aftercare, I have always felt supported, listened to and cared for.
I would highly recommend The Private Clinic to anyone considering a procedure. I couldn't be happier with my experience and the care I have received throughout.

I can honestly say I had the best experience with The Private Clinic of Harley Street. From my very first interaction they made me feel at ease, comfortable and in good hands. The professionalism, support and warmth of all of the staff is exceptional, especially Sofia my personal care coordinator. She was always available for any question or concern I had and went above and beyond to make my treatment process as smooth as possible, and she truly supported me throughout. My experience with my surgeon Dario was just as incredible. A truly skilled surgeon and the nicest person, who helped me immensely through the entire process, and I can truly say that I am extremely satisfied with the results. I had a breast augmentation with Ms Helena Antoniadou and I can't stress enough how pleased I am with my results! Unfortunately I did encounter some complications following my surgery (but don't let that put you off, I was just unlucky) but I was very well looked after by the clinical team and all was rectified pretty quickly. I even had a nice card from Wanda and the team wishing me well while I was recovering.

I feel so much more confident in myself than I did before and my breasts look so natural too!

Attended for abdominal vaser lipo surgery with Mr Mike Comins.

From start to now, (almost finished), my experience has been second to none.

Mr Comins is a consummate professional. From my first consultation with him I have felt confident in his knowledge and at ease with my procedure. He has explained everything so clearly and made honest recommendations in order I achieve my desired result.

My surgery day in London was seamless and despite my nerves every member of the Private Clinic went above and beyond to ensure I was both comfortable and had all the information I needed.

I simply cannot recommend Mr Comins and his team highly enough. I made the right choice of surgeon/clinic for sure.

I was very pleased with the results of a blepharoplasty operation I had six months ago at The Private clinic in Birmingham, by Ms Helena Antoniadou. I had droopy eyelids which made me feel a bit depressed and they seemed to be getting gradually worse. I was informed that eventually the condition could impair my vision.
Although the operation is a bit daunting and healing time a bit unpleasant I recommend this procedure, it has made me look and feel a lot younger and more confident in myself.

I recently had my septorhinoplasty at the clinic, and I can honestly say I had a really positive experience from start to finish.

Helena was my surgeon, and I felt very comfortable and confident in her care. She was kind, professional and reassuring, and I always felt that I was in safe hands.

A huge shout-out to the Birmingham team, who were absolutely amazing throughout. They were so helpful, welcoming and supportive, and they made sure everything was organised for me properly. They were always there to help and answer any questions, which made the whole process much easier and less stressful.

I also want to give a special mention to Wanda Booth, who was exceptional. She was so welcoming, helpful and friendly and really went above and beyond to make sure everything was sorted for me from the Birmingham side. She made me feel comfortable and looked after from the very beginning.

When I attended the London surgery, everyone was lovely. The whole team was kind, friendly and professional. I was made to feel comfortable as soon as I arrived, and I felt well cared for throughout my time there.

Having surgery is a big decision, and it is completely normal to feel nervous. For me, the care, kindness and support I received from everyone made the whole experience so much easier.

I am extremely grateful to Helena, Wanda, the Birmingham team and everyone at the London surgery for looking after me so well.

Cannot emphasise enough how easy and comfortable this experience was, from start to finish I felt listened to, my wants understood and treated with attentive care, from not just professor Sandip but also from the incredible nurses! If you’re on the fence or not sure, book a consultation!! Do it for yourself because you won’t regret it :)

The staff at The Private Clinic Northampton in specific Caroline and Georgia have been outstanding in their care from the point of my first appointment through to my last. I knew I could call and speak to them anytime which was really reassuring. My surgeon Mr Kavish has done an amazing job. He provided great advice and his work is outstanding. I would most definitely reccomend him. The care on my surgery day from before to after surgery was outstanding by all staff. I would definitely go back to the Private Clinic if I consider further surgery in the future. Thanks to everyone.

Absolutely recommend – with a few areas for improvement

I had my breast augmentation with Professor Sandip Hindocha, with my pre- and post-operative appointments in Northampton and my surgery in London.

Firstly, I genuinely cannot recommend Professor Hindocha enough.

I researched and met with a number of surgeons before making my decision, and from my first consultation with him I knew he was the right surgeon for me. He was considerate, respectful, incredibly thorough and patient with every question I had (including all the silly ones!). Most importantly, he made me feel comfortable, reassured and safe.

He really listened to what I wanted rather than telling me what I should want, and we worked through the options together. Of all the consultations I had, his was by far the most comprehensive.

The Northampton team were also fantastic, and the vast majority of my overall experience was genuinely 5★.

So why 4★ overall?

Unfortunately, the hospital experience on the day of surgery didn't quite match the standard of everything else.

The surgical team themselves were brilliant, but at points the experience felt quite overwhelming. There seemed to be a constant stream of people coming in and out, and I didn't really get a moment to myself to settle before surgery.

I also wasn't particularly impressed with one of the nurses who collected me. We were unable to get into the main hospital area for around five minutes while he repeatedly tried the bells, which didn't exactly inspire confidence on what was already quite a nerve-racking day.

There was also an issue with the food options available. Nothing suitable was offered that I actually wanted to eat, and I ultimately brought my own food rather than the hospital finding an alternative. Given the amount of money being spent on private surgery, I did expect a little more care around things like this. Professor Hindocha himself was actually very unhappy when he later found out about it.

I want to stress that these issues related 1 nurse specifically and the hospital reception team who looked and acted like they would rather be anywhere else – the majority of the team were absolutely wonderful.

The post-op calls were also a really lovely and unexpected touch (even if I'm terrible at answering numbers I don't recognise 😂).

Most importantly, I am SO happy with my results. My augmentation is exactly what I wanted, I felt listened to throughout the process, and I would 100% choose Professor Hindocha again.

Overall, probably 95% of my experience was exceptional. I just couldn't quite give the whole experience 5★ because, when you're spending thousands of pounds on private surgery, I think it's reasonable to expect the experience on the day to match the exceptionally high standard of the surgeon and the rest of the team.

I’m absolutely thrilled with the results of my tummy tuck and, because I was so happy with the outcome, I returned to Mr William van Niekerk for a small breast reduction and uplift.

I’ve just been on my first holiday in 23 years wearing a bikini, which says it all! I feel so much more confident and really couldn’t be happier with the results.

Overall i would recommend the Private Clinic of Harley Street. After doing research in relation to my procedure i found their prices were reasonable and factoring in the facilities they offer and the expert doctors why would you go anywhere esle. The care post op was great too, the out of hours on call nurse facility was very useful.
My procudure was with Dr Comins, he and Sofia could not have done a better job!
